Thank you Faylon! I saw those but was unsure if they could be used. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Pole replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I am working on a fresh install of SR: LE and I just wanted to drop a little feedback in here. I came to a problem following the guide when I needed to use BUM to write rules for overriding during the Unofficial Patches installation. I could never see them in the right pane. I ended up having to use the .txt that is linked as a suggestion in the BOSS Recognized Plugins tab. It is entirely possible I just missed something or did not install BUM correctly. Looking back at the Prerequisites section of the guide, you never link to the MO - Third Party Programs section for installing this correctly, perhaps you might like to. https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Mod_Organizer#tab=Third_Party_Programs Even after following this though, I was never able to see the Unofficial Dawnguard, Unofficial Hearthfire, or Unofficial Dragonborn patches in BUM. -

I have been out of the loop for a while and was wondering if Revisited LE is in a state now that it can be installed and used for a full play through? -
Problems with Become King of Riverhelm
Pole replied to Pole's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
That's the impression I was under Aiyen. I will continue to toy with things. I was able to revert to just a SR load with Become King loaded in, and I was able to get into the game just fine. There has to be a conflict with another mod I tried to load in with it. Sadly my overclock failed 2 days ago in the midst of me trying to get everything loaded back in, and I lost everything on my SR mod organizer profile. I am currently waiting for a large batch of new computer parts, so once I have everything into the new case, I will be back at trying to get things working. I appreciate the advice. Hopefully once I have this beast water cooled I will be able to complete things and actually get to play further than the intro. -

What would be the recommended course of action for mods that are not recognized by BOSS? Is there any good way to determine how to make a rule for them? -
Problems with Become King of Riverhelm
Pole replied to Pole's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Yea I actually am not using the Alternate Start mod. I still have a soft spot for the original opening of the game. I found quite a few mistakes I had made in my setup last night. I am adding in mods in batches of 5 trying to get a bunch of content mods installed. Sadly I feel like most content mods don't play well with each other and tend to have a bunch of conflicts. This is just one of those mods I had always wanted to try out. I am trying to strip back a bunch of the mods I added into the regular Revisited package to see if I can get it to work. I am starting to think I might be better off starting a play-through and adding in the content after a few hours of play. I don't know why, but I seem to have better luck that way. I have had luck in the past waiting until I am out of the intro to add in content mods. -

I have been looking through the guide and everything else I can find online to eliminate any conflicts, but nothing has worked so far. -
Problems with Become King of Riverhelm
Pole posted a question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
I have Skyrim Revisited working quite well on my system. I have recently been looking at some mods to add in, and i have done so with great success. I tried to add in LC Become King of Riverhelm today, and I am getting a CTD when running through the initial wagon ride on the stock game start. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to clear up any conflict this mod would have. I would really like to use it, and I realize this mod is quite large and potentially has many conflicts, but I would like to give it a shot. I was just wondering if anyone else had run into this. Thanks, Pole -
It looks like I had a bad file in the Lanterns of Skyrim. After a redownload everything is now working correctly. Thanks!

I keep getting an error when trying to load TESVEdit. It started a few hours ago, and won't let me edit anything now. Background Loader: Fatal: The system cannot find the file specified> Does anyone know a fix for this? I was trying to do the edits for Lanterns of Skyrim when this started popping up. I have not been able to do any other edits since. Thanks, Pole

I finally got time to finish up optimizing everything. Thank you all for the help. It worked like a charm after I understood what I was doing. One more quick question. I optimized and then repackaged the HRDLC1-3 into separate archive files, and then installed them using MO. Should I leave the 'HRDLC.esp''s checked or is it ok to have them unchecked? Thanks again!

I currently running the last large processing job through DDSOpt. Like a noob I read through the SR guide step by step and ignored the fact that all the BSA's needed to be unpacked and modified. I read the whole DDSOpt guide so I would know exactly what I was doing and understand what was actually happening. Everything is running beautifully now. I should be able to finish this out tomorrow with some luck. Thanks for all the help!

I was just reading all that. I missed that when working through the SR wiki. I am about to head home and I will give this a shot. Thanks for all the help guys! I will let you know how it turns out.

Ok I uninstalled all copies of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and only installed the 64bit version. I still had the same crash but I am no longer getting the second (side-by-side) error. I only get the general application error. I tried excluding just the dawnguardbody2_d.dds and I still get the crash. I also tried taking out the entire dlc01 armor group and the crash still happens at around 7 mins in. I am able to make and optimize a .bsa of just the dlc01 armor group, so I think I can safely say that it is not the .dds's that are causing the crash. Neovalen, you mentioned optimizing without putting it into a .bsa, how would I go about doing this? I am not following you there. I filtered out everything but the .dds files from the hrdlc2 and put them in a .bsa by themselves. Then I take that bsa and optimize it. How would I go about doing this as loose files? Sorry this is my inexperience with DDSOpt showing.

I am sorry if this is the wrong place to be posting this, but I have been working through the Skyrim Revisited wiki and I have come to a problem. I am attempting to run DDSOpt on the HRDLC 2 bsa. I have done the initial run to pull all the dds files into a .bsa and then I attempted to run the optimization and I get an error. It will run for about 7 mins and then everything goes grey and I get a windows box stating that DDSOpt has stopped running. I have tried remaking the first .bsa to no avail, and I have also tried using both the 32bit and 64bit DDSOpt versions. They both do the same thing. All settings in DDSOpt are set according to the wiki recommendations. It seems to hang at processing: dawnguardbody2_d.dds everytime. Perhaps there is a way to exclude this file so I can test the rest of the optimization run? I checked my event viewer and I am getting the following at every crash: Faulting application name: DDSopt x32.exe, version: 0.8.0.0, time stamp: 0x5109c236 Faulting module name: MSVCR110.dll, version: 11.0.51106.1, time stamp: 0x5098858e Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000e32e Faulting process id: 0x1a8c Faulting application start time: 0x01ce24570b9a84e0 Faulting application path: E:\Desktop\Modding\DDSopt\DDSopt x32.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\MSVCR110.dll Report Id: 3886bf6c-904b-11e2-8766-0026833b4408 and Activation context generation failed for "E:\Desktop\Modding\DDSopt\DDSopt x32.exe".Error in manifest or policy file "" on line . I appreciate any help you can offer, and if you would like any further information, please let me know.

That's what I thought. Thanks! Luckily I am starting a fresh playthrough so no progress lost.

I have been redoing my STEP setup and like a noob I downloaded Hearthfire without reading up on bugs and issues. A few of the mods I run in STEP and in addition to step are listed as having conflicts or CTD's for the moment. What is the best way of disabling Hearthfire until these problems are fixed?
