  1. keep in mind that also in vanilla game character often floats 5 inches+ above the ground ,even more immersion breaking...... footprints here could be more realistic that's very true , is a fresh mod afterall.... lot of space for improvements ,let's see how things and future updates (if author will make) go... indeed production can be better... idea is awesome.
  2. must been said that this kind of rules bans and so...are somehow necessary for nexus... just imagine if anyone say whatever he want...or do whatever he want (not few ppl there). now... talking freely to stimulate an improvement in things is good (like saiyng... my friend...this mod is a ****....but can be improved i can tell you how )...but very few ppl talk for this reason... mostly ppl just say the first thing that comes to their mind . without heavy moderation nexus probably would not even exist for 10 -12 years as it do. so is somehow rightfull. nexus is for sharing....and find maybe few good artists (i do not particularry love the name"modder"thinking that some ppl do art sometimes)...and probably that's all. to frankly speach , mutual comparison and of course highter-level works are attribute of smaller communities. i'm glad that they exist :)
  3. yep.... nexus is quite intolerant about criticism...everything is supposed to be trolling......so instaban... i do not think that somebody wants to be banned for this....or for trying to teach a noob a minimal knowledge of what he is doing.... i already left a comment... something like: "2 photos slapped on a vanilla texture" it's more than enough... the absence of criticism...and the teddy bear mood leads only to bad mods...and bad mods steal attention from the few good mods, which i think is what player want to see
  4. do not worry about vram impact...since author is saving in dxt1... i can bet my last beer that all files are about 2mb for 2048x2048 res...including normals. worry about game rendering instead... since without specular maps everything will look extremely glossy ...including leather,wood,and everything supposed to be NOT glossy -.- in the meantime the true volumes of normal are lost...and the only thing that remain are the small details gimped from diffuse map (morrowind style). really i do not want to sound like a troll or such...honestly i'm not going to replace millenia textures or mine with this eyesore,so i do not really care if it gets hotfiles,fotm, nobel,oscar,a place in paradise at the right hand of god. but some things must be told...since are under the eyes ... but nobody see. also i do not think i have something to envy my problem is that this kind of things brings up "copycat killers".... tomorrow or so someone will think that this is texturing...and it's not...at all
  5. tecnically the mod is not so bad ... even if uses the usual alfa channel tweak to mask unwanted pieces of various armours,like immersive armour and such... which is not the most elegant choice...it's effective anyway. some armour are not bad ... and quite close to morrowind things, at least into the limits of skyrim models. some textures are just vanilla tex-tweaks... recolor and such but quite gentle retouch at least not worst than original, dreught armor in my humble opinion is an eyesore... but "de gustibus non disputanda". idem for bonemhold.... also pretty far from morrowind design. in my game it conflicts with sky-re smithing perk tree. looks like original author...quickfox...something like... did replace the stalhrims armor textures,... first release was using my steelarmor textures without permission... a good way for not being banned from nexus at least :) ...sounds good to me. some armors from this mod are interesting btw:trollbone,antique orcish,chitin, nordic steel may have a visual use indeed also interesting the idea of medium armors... something like heavy but less protective and less inventory space devouring . all nifpuzzle... but better than many others.

  7. checked out with latest version of sand of time and looks like i have no problem....maybe there was a scripting issue in fast travel or sleeping....i had many ctd using both...so sands of time was disbled.... my fault. good news indeed
  8. uploaded elsewhere i'd say no...at least i do not know.... maybe there's something on modgames btw . (there's always something on modgames...with proper permission ...or not :/ ) yep anyway .... she's currently out for holidays but will be back in a week or two.
  9. another idea would be if i make a texture or two for those armors...and just give them to author... i really would like to see that mod, but compatibility with frostfall is still there :/

  11. i noticed from the screenshot :P ...it's clearly a overextimated first mod....daedric with rust is the real top/flop.... deadric=ebony, ebony=wood....why rust? on side note... i have the photo that the author overlayed above daedric in my reference stock...is from deviantart... just look for rusted steel there ...and probably you'll find it.... the worst thing is the lack or mess with normal maps... really discouraging.
  12. i like this mod... but i think that compatibility with frostfall (expecially in hardcore mode) is quite difficult ... sleeping is not easy with sans of time... but pretty important with frostfalls....also the armors used in sands of time...well they're not too much...the overall idea is awesome anyway... i like it a lot
  13. tested this for a couple of hour today.... and looks just great...hard to belive how much these little things give strong immersion....whole life recommendation
  14. personally i really cannot recommend this mod...since the only texturing work in it is a overlay of photos and texture bits above the vanilla maps....actually they're not even retextures, the author did nothing with a single brush ...just placed a lether bit from photos on leather and overlayed a steel plate image on steel.... just noob tweaks. ingame they look even worst.... exagerate sharp filter....vanilla details destroyed by overlay, inexistent normal maps...and when normal maps are included are a lot less detailed than vanilla...and saved in dxt1...with no alfa...no transparency, this means no specular maps. considering this work HD is insane...and thinking that a concrete surface is steel...is madness....concrete is concrete...period. millenia works are the yardstick for weapons.... hi-poly baked normals , detailed specular, proper color map obtained with ambient occlusion...and the whole texture done with brushes... not pre-made photo. open your eyes :)
  15. hi all :) this is my first post on step forum....i really appreciate what's going on with this project... and decided to take a closer look, sorry if i'm posting 1st here but cannot find the right place for self-introduction. oh and yep.... i'm "that" CaBaL...the one who mess up with photoshop . and yep skwareballz....very good price.... and is black magic indeed :D about the issue with Har, maybe i can help a bit.... my current version of iron is totally "ad-interim" which meas that will be quite soon replaced by a new version...hopefully 100 times better... it was my first experiment with skyrim (i'm quite used to fallout weather but was totally ignorant about skyrim lighting and enviroment...also a car incident was forcing me to work with a single hand 3 months ago. probably the armor texture itself is largely improvable. i'll re-do after the book of silence release, the book of silence is a collection of all my works... will give the replacers and a standalone mod for each tier,respective schields...and probably a quest to obtain... if i'll be able to make it ...release expected 1st october for tiers up to dwarven...including ancient nord armor. right know har textures are probably a little better than mine...expecially in vanilla lighting(much more the current version than the previous one, but it's only my opinion) considering it is a 9 months development mod...with multiple release....9 updates if i'm not wrong...ppl knows it pretty well...so i would suggest to integrate HAR ...at least for now.next release of my iron textures may upset the thing...or not...
