GUIDE v1.2.0 - Feedback & Bug Reports
darkglobe87 replied to z929669's topic in Step Fallout New Vegas Guide
Hey. Thanks for the assistance - Majorman - completely correct ha, I was very tired when following the guide. Which is why I'm starting again. Fingers crossed this time. Last time I halfway through realised I was using 1.1.0. So starting again fresh. Hopefully I get further than I did last time... soon as the courier opened his eyes he saw a red triangle where the vig-o-matic was meant to be. Sad times. Thanks again for your help. I did give up on your guide and used wabbajack to install VNV modlist but it's not as comprehensive as yours. -

Ignore above. Just got to the end of the guide and I'm getting an error: The only migkao esp I have is migkao-wmx.esp. Please help -
https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/68756 It's missing. Will it break my install if I simply skip it?

When following the guide to the letter, I don't get "FalloutNV.esm" showing in the left pane of MO2. -

DynDolod - improve time taken to generate?
darkglobe87 replied to darkglobe87's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
Ohhhhh. That explains it! Running a v basic H110 mobo with a Radeon RX 580. Not exactly high-end. All done now, however. Removal of ENB - game runs like a dream. Although sadly still not at 4K. 1080 it is. Thanks again. -
Thank you very much.

Thanks guys. I was expecting a frosty response to my questions because I'm clearly a n00b ha. I just blindly follow instructions, and I hope you guys understand we don't all MAKE mods and have working knowledge of how Bethesda make their games. This is a long way off from downloading that pre-made Morrowind overhaul (this is what got me started with making Skyrim look better!) So there's no way to remove the large reference errors, then. I've cleaned everything using xEdit (that took long enough too!)

Hi. I'm removing ENB from my STEP 2.1.0 build. Apologies if these are idiot questions but I've a very minimal understanding of how any of this works, aside from simply reading instructions. So far I've - - Removed all mods from post-processing modgroup. - Gone back and installed non-ENB variants of mods where I chose the ENB variant - Removed all ENB files from the Skyrim root folder It all works, and my FPS is better. Do I need to re-run any of the LOD stuff?? Also, What is the default value for the 2 sun-related settings in BethINI that I've modified: In the Section drop-down, select Weather. In the Setting drop-down, select fSunBaseSize. Change the value to 200 and click [Save]. In the Setting drop-down, select fSunGlareSize. Change the value to 282 and click [Save]. Return to Basic tab, and click [Save and Exit]

DynDolod - improve time taken to generate?
darkglobe87 replied to darkglobe87's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
It's taking 2-2.5 hours lol... I'll just be patient. All AV / background stuff turned off. I don't want to go messing with priorities in task manager becase I fear I'll take resources away from some other process within the whole thing... or something. I should've just not bothered with this ha. I'm not too technical but I'm giving myself a pat on the back that I got to the end of the guide and the game still works! Thanks for your advice. -
TL;DR - my CPU isn't up to the job. I know. But can I make DynDoLOD run quicker? Longer version - currently running: i3-7100 16Gb RAM SSD 500Gb (samsung EVO 970) Radeon RX 580 Win 10 I know my system isn't really up to scratch on the CPU side, but DynDoLOD seems to show me differing amounts of info every time I run it. Sometimes after 10 mins I'm getting black command prompt style popups showing the LOD generation, other times it gets to about 10-12 minutes in and then freezes, with no popup windows. It's almost as if it's running slower some times. Like, it doesn't even use 100% CPU or even anywhere close - mostly just RAM. Is there a way to ensure it's using my PC to the max capacity and running as quick as it can? I've been doing this damn guide for a week now and I wanna plaaaaay lol.

Thanks guys. Not done this for yeeeeeeeeears (I'm talking pre-LE). Issue I have is I started this build using Step 2.0.0. then realised it'd been updated, so went back and amended. Also I then decided to go with ENB which I never usually do. (big mistake, my Radeon RX 580 can't handle it well) so I thought maybe I'd made an error but I've spent like a week after work getting to this point I really don't want to have to start over!

Simple question (I hope). Followed instructions but confused myself slightly as had to backtrack - redid the master files after reading updated instructions and decided last minute to add post-processing group so unsure if I've ballsed something up. Question: Warnings in DynDoLod are these normal? (attached)
