Ahhh HA... LOL Working now! Now, I need to figure out if there's a bug in the app, or something wrong on my end, because I never get this message in the console or popup telling me it's completed. The console simply stops, and the mouse cursor starts spinning and that's it, then I have to ctrl alt del and sign out. hmm THANKS

Hi, Several times in the past I have successfully generated the grass cache with NGIO Grass Generation MO2 Plugin. I actually just created the cache a few days ago, but I wanted to change my grass from Veydosebrom to Verdant, Veydosebrom was the grass mod I had been using, that I successfully generated the grass cache several times in the past. Now, that I am trying to create the grass cache for Verdant, I can't. When I look at the console it says it's generating, when it's done, just like when it was successful in the past, the game would freeze, and the cursor would just start spinning. After, when I checked the overwrite folder, the grass folder was empty, but when I looked at the NetScriptFramework.log it said at the bottom; [02 Jul 2022 00:17:43.123] Grass generation finished successfully! So I'm lost now, I don't understand how it was working, now it's not, and I've spent an entire day on this, and 8 hours later, I still can't get the grass folder to populate. Here's screen shots of my installed mods in MO2. I've attached GrassControl.config, Grass Cache Fixes.ini, and the NetScriptFramework.log THANKS GrassControl.config.txt Grass Cache Fixes.ini NetScriptFramework.log.txt

Can TexGen_SSE.ini alpha threshold go above 144 to increase clarity, and if so, what increments would you change it by? They still are a little blotchy, but not as bad as before. THANKS -

I think I made a mistake with the EVT recommended with 'Lush', I used the lush small trees in the 'SE Custom Trees 2K. I'm assuming when you said lush for EVT you meant to download 'Enhanced Vanilla Trees SE-Lush Trees'? THANKS -

I looked at everything you posted, and made all the changes, and that is how it looked with the Whiterun Forest Borealis mod. This is also with DynDOLOD3 Alpha 95 By the way, my TexGen zip archive is 75MB is it this small? Yes I certainly have slight changes to my setup, but, it's not like it's going to break things, it's just finding the mods that play nicely with DynDOLOD is all I see going on at this point. Every other setting I have is properly done with Bethini, my INI files, xLODGen, TexGen, DynDOLOD, etc... I'm removing Whiterun Forest Borealis and running DynDOLOD over to see how it looks, brb. THANKS -

Sorry, my bad for not bringing this up in the beginning. I'm using Whiterun Forest Borealis; Whiterun Forest Borealis at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) I'm assuming now, this mod isn't working good with DYNDOLOD3. I really like seeing more tree density, otherwise it looks quite naked... LOL Anyone know anything about Whiterun Forest Borealis and DynDOLOD3 support? I'll remove the mod and run DynDOLOD over. THANKS -

@z929669 I made all the changes you mentioned, except I didn't change FlatLODVertexColor= as you mentioned to test first. Trees still look the same, to lime green bright, and same blotchy distant look. Hmm The trees on the far distance left, in the green box, notice the dark and light colors, hmm, shouldn't this look more uniform, is that what you meant about blotchy, or the trees straight ahead in the view, in the red boxes, the farthest distance out in the mountains, with no definition to them, or is that the blotchy you meant? THANKS P.S. FlatLODVertexColor=0.55 - is on the default setting, I didn't change it. So what test it on? -

Hey, I figured for all the abuse I caused, LOL, I at least should show you some eye candy, SSE with a 3080. Enjoy! If anyone wants to see more pics, just let me know, I'll be happy to show what the 3080 can do. Meet my character Dalania! I put TreeMSAlphaThreshold on 144, standing in the same spot at Whiterun, looking at the trees off in the far distance and mountains, they still look the same/blotchy. I put red boxes around some different areas, like on the left, where these trees are even closer distance, and still look blotchy. P.S. I'm using EVT and for this screen shot, I had the Billboard brightness on -5, notice how bright looking a lot of the pine trees are, like a lime green color, I have to use like -7 to make them look more natural... -

Sorry for my poor response on security, I should of said what I was thinking. The, 'I don't know' part, is, I don't know if there are any known issues at present. I personally understand everything you just mentioned, as I have an IT background I mentioned earlier. I personally take the Unix mentality of KISS, that's why I do things manually, to stay away from any and all issues, bugs, or security, etc... -

One thing that would be great, so people can roll a bit of their own from this guide, is if the Step Patches were made with a FOMOD installer, that shows all the various things being patched, and simply patches what you have installed, after all, there are a lot of FOMOD installers out there that do this. I would have to say, this is the only area where I run into a wall. I hope maybe both of the Step Patches in the future might be able to be FOMOD installers like this. THANKS -

Wait, let's back up, and start the conversation(s) over please. I'm not running into any issues, or having problems, or trouble. Having issues, and asking questions, aren't the same thing, and somehow people confused the two. I've been simply asking questions, about how to do certain things, that I was not able to find any information on how to go about these things, like adjusting tree lighting, allowing a mod to overwrite certain files, if that was acceptable, etc. There's only been frustration, and confusion, because maybe, people aren't simply just looking at what I'm talking about and asking, but seeing things in a different light, because sometimes, we see what we want to see. SO, I'm not doing anything my way, or any particular way either, I am following the guide, but the guide doesn't come out and explain certain details, and that is all I've been doing, just asking about certain details, nothing else, I'm not adding anything of my own twists, etc.. I think if I had to put my finger on one thing, that has sparked this, is because I was installing mods manually not automated with MO2, and the guide appears to be written and assumed everyone is using MO2 automated. Don't treat anyone like anything, to say, you are going to treat anyone as a particular user isn't the way to go about this, we are simply modders here of varying degrees of experience, that is all. StepModifications IMHO doesn't come across as a newbie site, but more of a geek modding site, think about that for a second, especially when you consider at the level, what is going on around here, with like DynDOLOD, etc. So what I've been seeing all along, is that this guide seems to be geared towards doing it only one way, also maybe geared towards newer users. There is nothing wrong with making guides geared towards specific users, at specific levels of experience, so you could write several guides as an example, one for newbies and one for experienced, but if you write one guide, then you should write it, so anyone at any level can use it. So I hope I've explained all of this better? -

I also have an IT background, but I've lived mainly in the Linux world with it. I like to express myself to others, with an understanding, that, while we all have our own ideas/likes, dislikes, etc., it's very importance to emphasize, how we should be looking at this, meaning, a point I was trying to express earlier but didn't do so well. What this really gets down to are personal preferences, some like software to do the work and automate for them, some like to get their hands on, and do things manually. If there is certainly no point or purpose to manually doing something, then, rhetorically speaking of, why bother. So again, it's all just going to depend on how someone looks at something. BUT, one of the most important things to always consider/remember, if you really want to learn, then you need to get involved, because always allowing the software to do the job, with no understanding of what is going on, sooner or later can cause you problems, meaning software has bugs, and sooner or later you run into them and face problems, software and hardware aren't perfect. Most Windows and Apple users do things automated, it's just the mentality of these particular systems, the way they are designed, and how they are marketed to the end-users. Rarely do you find a vast large number of Windows users tinkering all the time, hacking on their system, software, hardware, etc... But, in the Unix/LInux world of the end-users that are out there, this is different, a larger number of them, are tinkering on their systems, because it's that type of world. Granted, as I like to put it, jokingly, there are the Ubuntu users of the world, that don't care to do much, and do pretty much everything automated. So for me personally, I've always been an extreme hands on Linux Geek, Slackware, is my weapon of choice for an OS, rock solid, bullet proof. The thing I can tell you, on both sides of the fence, Windows, Linux or otherwise, those that let the systems do most of the work, are typically the ones, that run into problems all the time, after all, when was the last time, out there in the PC Gaming world, that you never saw anyone having problems? In PC Gaming, people are always having problems, and they never end, and they have problems, because the vast majority of them, as I call it are Drivers, not Mechanics of their PCs, and if you ever want the most hassle free life in the computer world, you'll need to get under the hood at some point, otherwise, be prepared for a world of issues. Of course your mileage may vary as we all know, when it comes to issues, so I'm not talking about those, that only sit around and surf the web, check email and watch some youtube, I'm talking about those that do a lot on their computers. Bottom Line, if I can do things, I do them, I never let software do a job I can do, unless it's just a complete waste of time, and there's nothing to be gained. But in MO2, doing things manually, I believe helps you to have a better understanding of what is going on with the mods, and the whole modding process involved in it. P.S. On the note of security, hmm, interesting topic, security should always be a concern in everything we do, but is there really any issues here with MO2 automating the work for you, I don't know. -

I've been a Slackware Geek 20 years... Everything I do in Slackware is manually by hand, I love it. Sure, so much software out there has an automated way to do things, but if you can do it manually, you'll be better for it, and in the end, more knowledgeable, less problems. I don't call what I'm going through now is trouble or a problem, I'm only trying to understand. THANKS -

Please, let's not turn this into I'm the only one here with a problem or trouble. I guess now, what we should be saying here, is helping the person with a Manual Method of doing things instead. I was simply only asking before about merging the Shores Patches is all, but since I am doing things manually, I see now that has created this chaos and confusion. THANKS P.S. So is this ok, what I did, archive them all into one archive to install? -

I understand these things about doing it the Automated way, I've just never run into any issues doing it manually, or found it difficult, I find it actually easy. Here's a mod in the guide to merge the update. Frankly HD Dragonbone and Dragonscale 2K Install the Main File. Merge the Update File. So I went to the site; Frankly HD Dragonbone and Dragonscale - Armor and Weapons at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) And I downloaded manually; Frankly HD Dragonbone and Dragonscale 2k Frankly HD Dragonbone and Dragonscale - Mesh patch Now here they are installed in MO2; So this is how I've always done it, grabbed the Main files, optional, or updates and install them one at a time. THANKS P.S. Yes I tinker with the tools too, this is my biggest tinkering tool; The Slackware Linux Project
