Oh hey! Nice looking out there! I checked the reddit, his youtube but didn't find that. -
Why isn't Follower Commentary Overhaul In Any Packs?
Aeradom replied to Aeradom's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I figured it had been replaced, just didn't know what with and wasn't quite sure how to google that sort of thing. Oh seems DFD is hidden and it could be a week or two before RDO comes out. Well flitter foot. -
Just stumbled upon this little mod as I watch checking out a video on a different mod page. I paused what I was doing and looked at it, and it seemed like something that would be pretty great to have more diverse NPC dialogue. I checked the page on the forums here and everyone seemed to like it but the last post was the tail end of 2014. I'm just curious if there's something wrong with the mod itself that precluded it from being included and it not, why not have it on there?

I found that line actually later on. I had was at the part about installing the optimized textures when I asked this. After deciding it was better of not to, I continued on and then reached the regular mods where it said as much. Oh well, thanks for the response anyways.

So I can use this then fine right? Because I've found far more and recent tutorials on setting this up than the ENB Manager. (For SLRE I mean)

SRLE Extended: Legacy of The Dragonborn
Aeradom replied to Darth_mathias's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Was this for technical reasons (bugs/conflicts) or a performance based one? I've never gotten to try it, and the most underwhelming aspect of the game was the Civil War. And I've heard recently that it's improved vastly over recent months so just wondering. Oh, if there is a lighter alternative. -
You know at this rate, I might be able to start my Skyrim playthrough by Christmas. I suppose that's the price of being too cautious. In any event, I'm on the step where I'm downloading the optimal textures and need a little clarification (and I couldn't find an exact answer when I searched). It says to install the part one version of the mod, but not if I should extract that as well. From what I can gather, it seems to be a preference thing, but I have little experience with this sort of thing so I can't really reach an informed decision. My instinct is to not extract the BSA as that seems the simplest option, but just wanted to double check to make sure I'm not suppose to extract them as well.

What's the Most Script Intensive Mods?

Good to know. Not too worried about it at this point anyways. -
Skyrim Revisited: Legendary Edition News
Aeradom replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Fun fact: The very first time I played Skyrim, back when it launched and on the 360, when I started up this bug happened to me. I was like "I don't think this is suppose to happened...." -
What's the Most Script Intensive Mods?
Aeradom replied to Aeradom's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Not that I'm an expert (obviously) but that is what Crash Fixes says on its page. If you scroll down for the changelog, you'll see it was added a few versions ago. But yes, I think I will also restring just to be safe. You're probably right out, honestly, I'm probably worried over nothing. Yeah, that seems a bit problematic lol. -
What's the Most Script Intensive Mods?
Aeradom replied to Aeradom's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Well that's the first time I've re-read every post on an old topic, it was an informative though so even if I did stay up to 4 AM, it was worth it. I'm guessing with the Crash Fixes the issue has been largely resolved. And with the current tools I guess you can keep it to a reasonable number. I am curious how big an issue a high string count can affect performance (in terms of frame rate drops) though. When I looked at SRLE Extended, I saw a lot of mods that I honestly could do without. I guess at this point how much do I really need to limit myself? I was thinking for instance of having a largely "vanilla enhanced" playthrough. Meaning that I wouldn't be installing a lot of the really big quest/expansion mods, limiting to two of the big companion mods (not sure which though, more research required on this issue) and honestly, never really cared for house mods. If I do those things (along with the usual good modding practices of course), that should keep me in good shape I assume yes? I should note at this point that my system, while not top of the line, I think is a rather respectable system. I'm running an i5-2500K at 4.2 GHz (could push to 4.5 probably as I'm running at 65 C under full load and only used about 1.3 volts I believe), GTX 970 GPU (need to still overclock that one), running off a 250 GB Samsung SSD, with 8 Gigs of 1600 Ram. With all that said, the one thing I've never done is play through Skyrim at consistent 55-60 FPS all the way through because my earlier hardware just couldn't cut the mustard as it were. That's why keeping it in that range is important to me (oh at 1080 by the way). Side note: I did create a system specs thing to put in my signature, but I don't know where that went to. Where can I find that? -
What's the Most Script Intensive Mods?
Aeradom replied to Aeradom's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
That's what I get for multi-tasking. I'll tell you why I'm doing it; prior to seeing the article below, I didn't know about strings until that article. I guess this means though that the script cleaner mod ain't helping with this issue if I choose to plug and play those mods. Speaking on that, I know with script heavy mods it's a bad idea to remove those once their in place. I'm curious though if the same is said with string heavy mods. -
What's the Most Script Intensive Mods?
Aeradom replied to Aeradom's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
That's what I meant not sure why I said scripts. In any event, while that might get around that issue, I'm also not wanting to see a massive performance drop (like sub 30 FPS when normally running at 60 FPS) that totally breaks my immersion. I actually found a breakdown of the individual scripts (massive props to Darth_mathias and DarkladyLexy With help from paul666root for the detailed list), so at this point, I'm meaning more about the types. Like, I was surprised how much big quest or world expansions, as well as how high the count is in vanilla. Not sure why that was surprising to me in retrospect but, it was. Update: I guess what I'm really asking is how much of a difference in terms of performance is there between say 55K scripts and 45K scripts? I know that's a hard question because it depends on when they come into play but still, just curious. -
You know what scares me? The idea of putting hours upon hours of effort in, just for the game to conk out on me a couple hundred hours into my playthrough and conk out on me. So when I see things like 50K scripts, I get a bit concerned. Now yes this is from the extended list but, there's a lot of mods I actually really want on there. It occurs to me though that I really don't know what mods are script intensive and what mods are safe (from that standpoint anyways). So my question here is, specifically, what are the top script intensive mods (and are there less script intensive alternatives) and in general what types of mods should I limit to avoid such issues?

That did it. I wonder why the other DirectX didn't work. Oh well, point is that it works and we're good.
-
Ah! That's what I was looking for. Thanks.
-
That first one was what I was looking for... I think. It's asking for where to install though. I guess in program files (for DX9 Runtimes I mean)
-
I received the error about the missing dx file but when I clicked on the link it directed me to windows media creation tool. I did some googling but they always redirected me to that same page. I'm just curious if I'm supposed to download that tool because I don't ever remember seeing that option when I've used it in the past. I feel like this is a really simple problem, but considering I couldn't find it referenced on this forum, I felt like I needed to create the post. Funny, prior to installing Windows onto my SSD, I actually didn't run into this issue.

SKYRIMLE Mod Organizer messes up load order when switching profiles
Aeradom replied to Avastgard's question in Mod Organizer Support
When you say "messes up load order" I'm assuming you mean on the left-hand side yes and not the plugin list right? Good to know, because I was going to be doing that. As far as doing the whole switching back and forth, I wouldn't want to do that on my SSD, but I suppose I could copy and past it on to my Data drive and then move it back when I want to try something else yes? -
As I was trying to figure out what mods to install, I actually found a list of my favorite mods that I installed back when I did my first modded playthrough. I was so delighted when I found for STEP Core, but was disappointed it didn't cover a lot of mods on that list. Not that I think it should, I get what STEP Core is supposed to be about. So I was quite happy when I found Skyrim Revisited and discoverd a lot of the mods that weren't covered on my list, were covered there. Still there was a few left out. Then I found SRLE extended. Yeah that about covers it. Actually, maybe a bit too much. Four hundred mods seems slightly excessive to me, especially since I want a generally problem free game when playing (at least as much as possible). That being said, I'm curious how PerMa plays with this? I played SkyRe and Vanilla and I must say I FAR prefer SkyRe so would greatly like to try it's successor, a long with some combat mods thrown in (some of which are actually on there as well). And on that note, how do I know what order to install them in comparison to SRLE Core? Can I just figure it out on my own by looking at the conflicts in MO and estimating.
-
Ah! That's good to hear. I was starting to get a bit worried when they seemed to be resolving the issue on an individual basis. At least now they pinpointed the problem, I'm happy to wait once I know that they aren't just assuming that everything is fine on their end.
-
Nope, still not up. I was kind of hoping as much but sadly not getting the emails (for either account, but to be clear the primary is Aeradom. Oh and the issue's been reported so no reason to spam them now and thanks. I'm able to with the alternate (Aeradom3) to log into the forum but can't post. Which is odd because on the support thread (which I was able to send a message to but not sure if they got it) because I thoguht I'd be able to post.

Anyone Around that can respond for me on this link and tell them that this is a bigger issue than that: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4670010-cant-use-nexus-siteforummod-manager-problems-with-email/ Now it's just getting frustrating :( https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4671060-unable-to-validate-account/ Edit: Oh and this is the message I got when trying to email them: We're writing to let you know that the group you tried to contact (support) may not exist, or you may not have permission to post messages to the group. Oh well, I guess I'll get some sleep and hope things are figured out when I wake up. Be sad to install a brand new SSD, have a day off to setup Skyrim on it, to not be able to do it. Granted nothing that can be done just a bit of a bummer.

Wanna know a great way to piss yourself off? Reformat your computer then find out your master password doesn't work and have to reset all your passwords. On that note though, went over to Nexus to reset the password but never got the email confirmation. I thought perhaps I had the email wrong (not really sure how that could be, but I went with it). So on a hunch, I attempted to create a new account but yet again, no email was sent. So I thought maybe it was my network, so I had an out of town friend attempt to create an account and still no good. Finally at my wits end, decided to try and email support. And then it got weird. The email got bounced back to me saying that the name didn't exist ([email protected]). It was at this point I was wondering if something was really wrong (well not seriously wrong but yeah... not a simple problem). I checked over at the forums and there's no less than three threads on the topic, but none of them have received a response. So yeah, wanting to know if you guys heard anything.
