  1. If you want to just finish the content, I'd recommend not using this guide. This guide has a TON of unnecessary mods like Not So Fast, Timing is Everything, Simply Knock, etc etc. They're nice to have but if your goal is to just complete the content they are largely unnecessary. You could build a load order that's half this size, with all of the same content, without the need for a CR or anything like that. Following this guide the first time should have given you enough basic knowledge to know the basics of mod compatibility and using xedit, dyndolod, wrye bash, etc.
  2. There are two Arthmoor village mods that aren't included in the guide: Helarchen Creek - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/80189 Dragon Bridge - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/82535 Assuming how new they are they probably aren't included in the merged patch (another reason to switch to CFTO?? :D) There's also Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29249 I personally love adopting kids, I find that as I play more through a playthrough I care significantly less about followers and more about kids. Not sure if others feel similarly.
  3. I'm using Darth's version with the updated masters and I am liking it so far. It's significantly harder because wolves actually fight back, but I've run into several wolves and haven't had an issue with them running forever away and keeping me in combat. It might be a little pre emptive but so far it looks like a winner.
  4. Sirjesto's uses the SkyTest esp as master which we don't have due to the merge. Darth's uses the esm (which we do use), but they are both the same in terms of functionality. Use Darth's if you want to test it.
  5. Yep, it's the exact same thing. I find it extremely anti fun and not realistic (realistic would be the animal running forever). And due to the way the game engine works with combat state being basically forever until the target dies, it presents a situation where people using followers are at risk of being permanently in combat (and no console command to leave the combat state). And being stuck in combat means your followers just run and run and run forever and completely ignore you (means people that play follower based builds are boned), can't use any crafting stations, cant mine any ore or dig any archaeology sites, and so on. Fighting one on one isn't nearly as bad since you can just run it down and kill it, but when you're fighting a pack and you get down to the last 3 and they all start doing that in different directions... it's just, not fun.
  6. Will try this, I did get a chance to try the old one but I'm not sure I noticed much, maybe a slight change but animals still sprinted at ridiculous speeds ridiculously far away. Probably the biggest change I noticed was wolves attacked regardless of whether they were part of a pack or not (which isn't normal SkyTest behavior). Not sure if that was due to the patch or if something else got messy.
  7. You need to cool your head. Switching to Windows 7 likely made zero difference as your problem is not VRAM related. It just happened to work when you tried it this time. Does Crash fixes give you an error? Crashes like the one you're explaining can often times be a missing mesh (I messed up my stunning statues install once and had a missing statue of azura mesh which caused a crash any time I came near it). Try rebuilding your Bashed patch, try rerunning ASIS patcher (after Bashed Patch rebuild), try cleaning your save file. All of these are things you can try in like 10 minutes if you cool down, if it persists after all of this you've got an issue elsewhere in your load order and you should do what jdsmith suggested, but I don't see you listing any steps you've taken to try and fix the issue other than raging and rolling back to windows 7.
  8. I didn't get a chance to try it yet but I was meaning to. But for alternatives I saw these: Animal Tweaks - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/60222/ One With Nature - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54090/ Real Wildlife - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9778/ Real Wildlife looks like a compatibility nightmare, One with nature looks to be the most compatible but doesn't change AI, Animal Tweaks somewhere in between I guess. They've all been updated within the last year.
  9. Disable/Enable have been essential console commands for me so far, having an issue with Minerva randomly changing her entire head to a fat nord head and I'm not sure why, the only thing that fixes it is disable/enable. There have been a few official bugs I've come across where NPCs have either broken ai or broken animations (I look them up on the wiki to see if they are official or not) and these console commands usually resolve those as well. Resetai is a good one too but hasn't been as useful for me when it comes to fixing npcs.
  10. My couriers are all fine, other than some weirdness with me being in the middle of battle with bandits then a courier is like HAY LETTER 4 U.
  11. VRAM overload shouldn't cause CTD, it'll just cause texture/mesh visual bugs or slow texture loading when traversing outdoors. AKA lots of lag, but in itself it wont cause CTDs. I would probably try cleaning your save file and see if that resolves the CTDs. This has helped me a few times so far with this load order. But I also made a few deviations from the guide that could be causing my issues.
  12. Something else I found, has anyone seen this issue before? https://i.imgur.com/YWigjPq.jpg A lot of the grass/flora in this place is pure black. There's also some weird shadow shenanigans going on as the entire cavern occasionally turns pitch black. This is in Shadowgreen Cavern up by Solitude.
  13. Awesome, will be testing this today!
  14. When I try this they just run off again because teleport doesn't take them out of the combat state. The only one that doesn't seem to run off is Inigo.
  15. Yeah! this sounds like what it is. I'm sure it'll be less of an issue when I can just one shot the wolves, but right now it's probably the most annoying thing in this playthrough so far. Can't craft or cook or really do anything while your follower chases a wolf for 10 minutes. I'm going to keep an eye out for that spell JUNKdeLUXE mentioned too, I think I saw it somewhere before but passed it up due to lack of gold.
  16. It happens with any spell or weapon for me. I'm actually playing a lightning/cold mage type character and experience it, I also experienced it in the past with a pure bow character. I know of the fear of fire thing but this doesn't seem like that? I'll take a look in xedit and see how complicated it looks tweaking it, I'm not the most experienced when it comes to xedit yet.
  17. Are pretty much all animals suppose to just always run from you unless they are a part of a large pack? Like wolves, sabre cats, etc? It's really annoying when I run into a small pack of two wolves and all they do is run away at twice my speed, leaving my followers in basically endless combat state as they chase (but never catch) the stupid things. Which mod does this? Is it SkyTEST? One of my followers is severely buggy right now and it happened after they chased a wolf halfway across the world map.
  18. It's compatible with Arthmoor villages out of the box, but the pricing might need to be adjusted, adjusting the pricing is also quite easy and the author has posted detailed instructions on how to do it. For Helgen Reborn there is a patch, but it's temporarily unavailable (not sure why), by default the mod doesn't have Helgen as a destination so a patch would be needed. Since the author is active maybe a DM to him could get a copy of the patch.
  19. Just got back from killing the first dragon, Whiterun is looking pretty covered in snow.
  20. Sometimes modding this game makes me feel really stupid. This worked, thanks a bunch. >_________> This should have been the first thing I tried... and I have no clue why I didn't try it right away.
  21. Last update on my wheel menu issue (I'm giving up), the wheel menu works if I assign 'U' or 'Y' to an empty wheel, but I cannot use a wheel with things added to it regardless of hotkey, I tried several. I also tried adding things one by one to the wheel to see if maybe it was just some of the spells that break it but as soon as adding any spell to it, it won't work anymore. So it seems to be an issue with the plugins breaking after that dream sequence (or it might be related to the game forcing you to do the dungeon without followers?).
  22. Ahhh I can't edit my post anymore, but it looks like it did not work.
  23. I just ran into an issue with the Nightcaller Temple quest. After doing the Dreamstride section my Wheel menu stopped working. Nothing seems to get it to work now, but it still shows up in the MCM. Any suggestions? Edit: just found a bunch of undefined instances running related to easy wheel menu when I had the idea of cleaning the save file. Just removed them, will update if that fixes it.
  24. I was reading somewhere that Better Fast Travel is outdated and that Carriage and Ferry Travel should be used in its place? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/68221/? It wasn't in the context of this guide of course, just thought it might be worth throwing that out there. I haven't had any noticeable issues with BFT so.
  25. Tried again and I got in game fine this time, but now the texture error isn't there hahahahahaha omg this is driving me CRAZY. -__-
