SRLE Extended

Recommended Posts

Shurah has not only stated Arthmoor's cities are compatible but has also used them as an example of how to create a city addon that will work best for compatibility.  DOS has a minor performance hit but it's minor, especially compared to any version of JKs.  I also use Farmhouse Chimneys and actually just updated to 2.5, merging the separate plugins for CRF, ASL, MS, and Arthmoor's with the main and haven't had any issues despite it being on a current playthrough.

Cutting back on my city mods, using SRLE, EXT, MMO, a handful from STEP and really limiting any additional mods ( Using Bring Your Silver, Vigor and Ultimate Combat on top of MMO ) has been amazing.  I'm through Bleak Falls Barrow, level 9, and HAVE NOT CRASHED ONCE.  I can't believe it and it's definitely the first time I've ever been able to say that.  I keep waiting for it to happen, especially at certain spots ( I'm looking at you companions/giant scene ) but it's so, so stable.  Big shot out to Darth Mathias and Dark Lady Lexy for putting this together, it is AWESOME.  Thanks.

cstarkey42 - Are you using ETaC now?

Dear hard working Darth & Lexy.

I was made curious and tried the Skyrim Project Ini mod.

Installed it and went through the settings provided by the guide.

Left me with one question though.

From Neo's guide:

This tweak decreases ultra shadow resolution with minor visual degradation, however the jump in framerate and general stability is large.

    [Display]
    iShadowMapResolution=2048

It is set back to 4096 by SpINI is this ok ?

Also noticed that in the post SpINI Tweak settings the following line is added.

[General]

  • sIntroSequence=

I used the toggable function available in one of the Tabs from spINI so it was already set like that.

I was just reviewing Nearox great guide for SRLE Explorer and I'm having a few thoughts.

It looks like, now that SRLE Extended has included Interesting NPCs and will possible include Inconsequential NPCs, the only thing pretty much missing from that guide is the World Improvements section with Dawn of Skyrim Collection, Farmhouse Chimneys, Jks Cities - Lite and SuperLite and a few location tweaks.

I agree, whats missing atm in SRLE and extended is ingame content like city mods, locations improvements and quests mods, and as you say, much of the reason is conflicts with ICAO.

Its really sad since there is so many great mods that get excluded, but not all mods that do the above have conflicts with ICAO, and some have very small issues that is not game breaking or cause crashes or other serious issues.

Im working on making a basic list of mods that add content like mentioned above that is safe to use, and hopefully there will be some mods that will work well with ICAO.

Great to hear, but MMO is that the modular morrowloot overhaul pack? I like the idea of morrowloot. One thing I dont like in Skyrim is that great armor start to drop from random bandits before player reach lvl 20, and that gold just fall from the sky for the player so I can buy the whole world before I have passed lvl 15. I like things to be much more scarce so it take time and exploration to get things.

There is some mods out there that do this, but Im not sure if the extended team is interested in something like this?

There is a also a pack out there that do this, the Deleveled Loot pack, its is made compatible with SRLE by Dreadflopp's Modular Patches, but is it compatible with SRLE extended?

Btw I guess you guys have checked out this pack of patches Dreadflopp's Modular Patches that make SRLE comaptible with other packs and many mods used in your extended pack, if not I suggest that you do, it will maybe avoid some duble work?

Yeah, I use a lot of the mods from Modular Morrowloot Overhaul/its various sub-packs.  It's forcing me to consider confiscating Recorder's Ebony gear.  I'm just worried she's going to go bat **** crazy on me when I do.   :O_o:

I order my patches 1) SRLE 2)SRLE Extended 3)MLU Patches 4)MMO Patches 5)Bring Your Silver/Weapon and Armor Attributes 6)Personal Conflict Patch.  I've had to make a few edits to each of the pack patches, particularly the race edits so I can use Mature, Disparity and Imperious.

Arthmoor's 4 city mods are compatible with ICAIO. I am using them without any issues whatsoever.

Minor TES5Editing is needed but really nothing much.

IIRC Shurah had confirmed that Artmoor's Towns are compatible.

well in that case i will check them out. I will also look at Farmhouse Chimneys

what about a better audio experience? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54387/?

this will be worth a look too

I have tweaked the spINI instructions some more. you need to make sure

[Display]

iShadowMapResolution=2048

I just forgot to add that but it part of the spINI instructions now.

I strongly advise everyone to give spINI a try it doesn't have everything but it does have most things you'll need.

I am glad you really like my guide it start from just from a simplke forum post now look at it. Its not up there with the likes of Neo, Nearox, Hishutup or EssArrBee guides, but it is maturing nicely.

I wish.  CIAO has dictated my city overhauls.  After cutting back on the city mods, I'm sort of enjoying the desolateness and simplicity of the world.  It feels much more cold and alone and fits my playthrough.

Well, you can still use ETaC modular and include the cities/settlements that are still compatible with ICAIO. Pour into the mix Arthmoor's towns, DoS full (that u r using) and JK's Superlite (extremely minor incompatibilities with ICAIO). You will have a nice layout, although I am still missing ETaC Rorikstead!
