Need help/suggestions on S.T.E.P. configuration

Question

Posted

Hi everybody!

System information:

Benq 120hz refresh monitor

Windows 7

I5-2500k

Sli - two 670 SC 4gb vram

32gb ram

Liquid cooled cpu and gpus 27c-52c heating range

I followed the step by step instructions not leaving anything out. I've double and triple checked.

I'm using the enb boost, and step extended version

My problem is the intro (alduin) and the first Dragon fight so far bogs down real slow with 2-7fps (monitored by fraps) and frequently in towns.

I've spent numerous hours playing around with nvidia inspector settings and enb.ini settings......also tried the nvidia advanced setting config on S.T.E.P.

I've tried frame rate limiter, turning off vsync in enb and forcing it on in inspector with triple buffering on. Turning AO on and off in enb and inspector. Plus more but I'm limited on time since I'm on break at work.

Has anyone else experienced these same problems? What did you do to fix it? I'm beating my head in trying to figure this out.

Thanks for all who contribute.

In general, Yea. I don't have it myself, but it features prominantly in several Packs here, and I've heard nothing but good about it. (Stabilizing my build first, that's why. :p)

Ok, sweet bc I installed it and all the step add-ons that mentioned it which I think was like two. I added the content for.

Does step work well with it. Like as in do the graphics and smoothness of gameplay roll into it or is there addintional mods I should get for it?

STEP is just meant to be a base to which you can build upon. That's where we have the Packs. Many users install STEP and then add their own flavor of mods on top. So to answer your question, most mods fit and work well with STEP.
