New profile fails to load all game assets

Question

Posted

Okay normally I can figure out quite a few random issues on my own but this one has me puzzled.

I have my pseudo SR-LE profile which works like a charm, without any issues what so ever. Cleaned .esm´s everything in its proper location etc.

Now today I wanted to test something out in raven rock (Start location in the dragonborn DLC) on my vanilla profile, so like normal I would open the console and type

coc dlc2ravenrock02

No go! O_o

Okay so I try to type in

help raven

to see if I accidentally forgot a 0 or something weird... the cell record does not appear on the list! O_o

Okay I then try something basic...

coc whiterunexterior01

game loads... but every single actor is just standing in T-pose and nothing is really going on. O_o

I try various other locations in the skyrim world space... still the same.

I then try to go out and disable everything and run the game from the default launcher just the cleaned .esm´s no SKSE etc.... same deal! O_O

I figure... okay perhaps some sort of weird something something is going on with the .esm´s.. so I remove the cleaned .esm´s and get back pure fresh revalidated versions... and still SAME DEAL! No SKSE, no nothing.. about as vanilla as you can get! Yet the game fails to load all assets.. but apparently can load enough that it can actually display something. Also trying to start a new game fails.. since no actors spawn and just move ahead. Mind you there are no CTD´s at all. Stuff just does nothing. And game locations are not existing etc.

I go back and start my pseudo-SR-LE profile.. and everything works like it should! All records exist and I can do the coc commands etc.

I then delete my vanilla profile.. and create a new one with default ini´s and everything! Start the game again no SKSE, no nothing just skyrim.esm, and update.esm.. and still it persist in not loading all assets!

I figured that the T-pose thing could be related to FNIS etc.. but that should not matter on an entirely vanilla install with no mods whatsoever selected etc. Also why would a FNIS run influence if various coc markers load or not?

I am sure it is just something silly that I am entirely failing to grasp, so go and tell me how big of a noob I am! :)

Yup. Tis puzzling. Especially since it does not matter if I just run "skyrim" from the launcher with orginal .esm´s and .bsa´s and nothing else on the profile.

Guess there is something in overwrite that might be causing it... so guess I can try to clean that out.. but id rather not, never had this issue with the previous versions and the things in overwrite are mainly FNIS and SUM stuff... as well as the major patches that I am too lazy to create a patch for myself.

It is managing them... and on the working profile bsa extraction have been done with extreme dedication (I hate bsa´s I really really do), without any issues what so ever.

Not even the HDDLC is enabled on the vanilla non working profile(s) it really is just the official game stuff and nothing else.

The log also indicates that the Update.BSA, Dawnguard.BSA, Dragonborn.BSA, and HearthFires.BSA are hidden from the game for whatever reason. That is weird. How can they be hid?

The files in the overwrite are always on and will be loaded no matter what. There is no way to turn them off. Moving them to a mod will allow you to do that.

I got no clue how they are hidden.... but yeah it is a weird one. One profile works, the next one does not... with the same game assets on the list.

Guess it is just one of those small quirks that can happen. Oh well guess I will have to postpone setting up multiple weather profiles for a little bit until I figure out how it does it.
