Armor Mods not working after MO update

Question

Posted

Hi! Thanks for having a mod organizer support forum. I've been using MO for a few weeks now, and, after finally having managed to get a more-or-less stable game running with the ton of mods I want, I eagerly pressed Update earlier today, in hope of getting an even more stable experience.

When I entered the game after automatically fixing my loard order, the first thing I noticed was that my character was wearing vanilla armor. I tried changing into other armors in my storage, and the same thing happened - vanilla all around, except for standalone armor sets, which worked as usual. I checked the loard order, checked the overwrites (which seem to be in order), but still the vanilla armors take priority. I even tried placing all my armor mods at the very bottom of my load order, but that desperate attempt didn't help either.

Has anyone else experienced this? And what to do? I don't wanna wear clunky vanilla armor. :o

After some more trial and error - mostly error - I've discovered that in addition to this, Vilja has disappeared without a trace, and my follower Khaliza of Gilane has reverted to her vanilla self, Argis the Bulwark. Lots of other mods seem to work fine, though - my Interesting NPC follower is still himself, my Gypsy Eyes Caravan is still parked outside Heljarchen Farm, and my mod settings menu is still full of stuff I expect to be there. So new stuff added to the game still works, but, apparently, replacers have stopped replacing. :(

Anyone got 2 cents on this? :o

This is a combination of the DLC being added into Mod Organizer and using the automatic Fix button too soon. It is smart, but not entirely perfect.

Move the following to the top of your priority list in this exact order:

Unofficial Skyrim Patch

Dawnguard

Unofficial Dawnguard Patch

HearthFires

Unofficial Hearthfire Patch

Dragonborn

Unofficial Dragonborn Patch

HighResTexturePack01

HighResTexturePack02

HighResTexturePack03

Unofficial High Resolution Patch

Thanks for the input, guys! I went over the Archives list and managed to get Vilja and Khaliza back, but no luck with the armors I'm afraid - still vanilla armors all around, even after setting the mod order exactly as you said, DoubleYou.

The armor meshes are right there when I check the Data tab, under Data/meshes/armor - so I've got no clue what to change to make MO stop preferring the vanilla meshes and actually use the meshes its supposed to... :S

Hmmm. I just loaded up the game and it seems a LOT of my textures are incorrect. In fact, it seems the vast majority of my texture replacers aren't working at all in 1.2.5. They worked just fine in 1.2.4. Seems like this might be a valid and potentially major bug. Need to test some more.

Ok, after further testing I've discovered that what I was experiencing is a bug, but not as major as I thought. It seems that any mod in priority 0 position seems to be overwriting all other mods somehow. This didn't happen in 1.2.4, so I'm not sure what changed. Since I had my optimized vanilla textures in priority 0, all my textures were being replaced by vanilla textures wherever possible. Similarly, if you place Lockpicking Interface in priority 0, it will overwrite the HRDLC. I'm not sure all the quirks of this yet, but will make a bug report. For now, put some meaningless mod in priority 0 and see if that fixes it.

Thanks a bunch, DoubleYou! :D Putting something else up in slot 0 worked like a charm. I would probably never have thought of that. :)
