rootsrat Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Hey guys! I spite of recent and shameful DropBox T&C changes I switched to a service called Copy. It's an excellent DB alternative, you get 15GB of space for free (or 20 GB if you use this referral link :) ), it works exactly the same as DB. Thought I'll let you know if you're thinking of dumping DB due to the changes they've introduced to their T&C's. Enjoy! :)
CJ2311 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 What changes would that be? Can't keep up with all the T&C bull from all these companies D:
redirishlord Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Done & done. Thanks for the tip, and thanks for the referral link. Here's a cookie, uploaded patched SKSE loader by SkyrimTuner for memory patch 3.0 if you have issues with SKSE 1.7 alpha, and ENB binary v0.251 from 17/Feb/2014 with ExpandSystemMemoryX64= parameter (previous to new version that removes said parameter). https://copy.com/yTkvfBG4Xtzi
EssArrBee Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Does it have the restrictions on downloads? I hate that DB has always restricted files to like 2gb of bandwidth or they pull a kibosh on it.
rootsrat Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 Does it have the restrictions on downloads? I hate that DB has always restricted files to like 2gb of bandwidth or they pull a kibosh on it. Not sure to be honest. What changes would that be? Can't keep up with all the T&C bull from all these companies D: See here: https://consumerist.com/2014/02/21/dropbox-jumps-on-forced-arbitration-bandwagon-but-offers-online-opt-out/ I don't think that it would affect me, but as a principle I refuse to use services of a company that does stuff like that. Saying that I work for a company that is on a Forced Arbitration Rogues Gallery by citizen.org  But I've only found out today.
SSL Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 @SRB: I guess nobody knows. I have skimmed TOC, and haven't found anything about restricting downloads. @CJ: DB Â will forbid class action lawsuits, IIRC.
EssArrBee Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Hmm... not sure I'm ever going to need to sue DB, but even with an opt-out I'm not to happy about that. I've been thinking of just using that new Kim Dotcom site, Mega or something, for hosting files on the guide I'm building, since Dropbox will eventually stop me from distributing them with my free account.' I'll have to check out Copy, thanks for the info Roots!
CJ2311 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Well I have no idea what all that jargon means, so I'm just gonna use that referral link and keep the account on the side. I was mainly using my free 60GB box.net account anyway :p Also, I can't sue or be sued seeing as how I live in a backwards country called Tunisia p:
EssArrBee Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 WTF? How do you go from DFW to Tunisia? Are you on the run from the gov't?
SSL Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 WTF is DFW?Also, I can't sue or be sued seeing as how I live in a backwards country called Tunisia p:Of course they can sue you, they could take the case to San Francisco court. How this will affect you? Unless you are going to visit murica after conviction then probably not much.
CJ2311 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Glad to see I'm not the only not to know what that is.
EssArrBee Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Yeah, sorry I thought CJ was someone else who said they used to work at id. We have to many new users the last couple of months and I don't keep track in my head very well.
CJ2311 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 But for reals' date=' what "DFW" means?[/quote']Apparently, it's the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport.'Murica.
EssArrBee Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 But for reals' date=' what "DFW" means?[/quote']Dallas/Fort Worth. Someone once said they worked for zenimax in the DFW area and the only zenimax property in that area is id. EDIT: ninja'd, but it represents the entire 4 county region that makes up Dallas/Fort Worth and most of it's suburbs.
