TechAngel85 Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 It took some time to get used to the new "Metro" (officially it's the "start screen" now) but once I did, I didn't mind it. I mainly just used the desktop and recent apps list to navigate. The only thing I didn't care for was the new settings menus. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk.
Kelmych Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Classic Shell allows you to add some extra functionality to Windows Explorer too. I ended up switching to it on my laptop after getting sick of the Metro interface (even on a 2013-era laptop). Still can switch to it if I need to use it in tablet mode' date=' but I don't think there's a lot of instances where it would be needed.[/quote']+1
Octopuss Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Metro looks like punishment for something bad the users did in past. It's also very colourblind friendly, but not so much for those who are not :D
TechAngel85 Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 Well the Metro shouldn't be a reason to not use Windows 8 or at least try it out because you can easily boot to the desktop and install Custom Start which will give you the old Start Orb and it's menu back....making Windows 8 essentially an "optimized" Windows 7 install.
