Your Opinion / Knowledge of the following Mod Compatibilities

Question

Posted

Hey guys, so I got SR + ASIS+ Skyre up and running. Hasn't crashed yet in about 8 hours of gameplay today so I'm really happy.

However I would like to add some mods to increase immersion. Would like to ask your opinions/experiences/knowledge about the following mods! In other words, do you have any problems running one or more of these mods or do you foresee this mod having any conflict with another SR mod?

1. Immersive College of Winterhold: It says on its page that it is 100% compatible as long as no other mods make adjustments to the college. Do mods like SMIM or any other SR mods interfere with this?

2. Immersive Settlements //OR// Epanded Towns and Cities: I know about Realistic Room Rental issues. Is there any other mod that could conflict?

3. Immersive Patrols: I read somewhere on the STEP forum that there is a conflict with another mod, but I cannot find that post anymore...

4. Travellers of Skyrim.

5. Inconsequential NPCs: This mod is mentioned in the SR:Legendary guide; it doesn't say there wheter patches are needed but I guess it may simply not have been updated to that point that.

Looking forward to hear your invaluable comments!

Immersive Patrols without ASIS adds enough of its own spawns for its stuff. So all you have to do is:

Go to this folder:

skyrim\Data\SkyProc Patchers\ASIS

Find and open IncreasedSpawns.ini

Scroll down to the [ModExclussions] section and add all your Immersive Patrols esps below whatever's there. Here's a list of all the Immersive Patrols esp's for your convenience (IIRC the mod author will be merging one of them into one of the others, but you don't actually have to have the ESP in order for things to work):

Immersive Battles.esp

Immersive Brigands.esp

Immersive Dawnguard.esp

Immersive Dragonborn.esp

Immersive Events.esp

Immersive Factions.esp

Immersive Mercenaries.esp

Immersive Patrols.esp

Immersive Travelers.esp

Immersive Werewolves.esp

If you're a brave human and for whatever reason use ASIS's AutomaticSpells.ini, go into that and add at least the following (or everything above that I just listed) under the [NPCModExclusions] section:

Immersive Battles.esp

Immersive Patrols.esp

And don't forget to rerun the patcher thing after doing all this! :D

This is all just for Immersive Patrols of course. But it might help to do the same for Immersive Creatures (consider that by default DeadlyDragons.esp and SkyTEST-RealisticAnimals&Predators.esp is all ready added to the [ModExclussion] section in the IncreasedSpawns.ini) since Immersive Creatures also has its own sort of increased spawn system which, for whatever reason, cannot be decreased below 1% chance of happening.

There are absolutely no problems running OBIS with ASIS because all OBIS does is RANDOMIZE bandit spawns, not increase them. Unless you like to take chances and use the battles esp.

Sairven: I did that already as I found your previous post with the same info in another thread on these forums. However it didn't help me from getting a CTD with LvlPredatorScript.psc.

Re-ran the bashed patch, SUM etc but to no avail. The error must be due to either Immerisve Patrols or Inconsequential NPCS (as those are the only ones I instaled on top of SR + ASIS + Skyre - the combination of the latter 3 was working without problems.

Errors have been reported on the net about LvlPredatorScript.psc affecting stuff around (outside of) Whiterun in particular. Might try an older version of Immersive Patrols and get the ESP that exclused Whiterun area but not sure if it'll help. Could simply be too many running scripts at once, as I read that this is some kind of 'global script' accessed by hundreds of different variables.

Extra spawns does not play nice with anything.... if you want a stable game, dont use mods that add extra spawns!

Or cut down on other scripted mods. Its a balance act, where you have to decide which mods you would rather play with the most! You just cannot run with everything!

Especially ASIS is bad since it is so old now compared to everything else that there most likely is room for improvement.

But since its just a general issue with the game engine then it remains to be seen if it would even matter.

Yeah I read that too hence why I did not enable increased spawns module of ASIS. Nor any other increased spawn stuff. Simply followed the ASIS+Skyre guide (and did not installedd the other addons due to complexity and - frankly- sometimes unclear and incomprehensible wording of the guide.

IIRC there was a recent update to USKP which addressed the LvlPredatorScript.pcp thing but we have to wait for other mods to make changes accordingly.

From my understanding, it basically comes up when mods add spawn points. USKP fixed vanilla spawns, but it's up to mod authors to mimic USKP's fix. It's an issue we'll have to deal with until everyone gets on the same page.

I recently did a 100% fresh Skyrim install and haven't had any problems with LvlPredatorScript.pcp (using ASIS, OBIS, Immersive Creatures, Immersive Patrols, Hunting in Skyrim, and several other mods that should, by all accounts, be causing that issue), but before that it made up about 80% of my crashes. So it may just be a matter of simply biting the bullet and letting your current character(s) RIP. D:

On the whole though, adding those esps to your exclussions lists will help. Imagine it like a tourniquet. It's the absolute last resort that any first aid goes to because it's the only thing you can really do outside of just letting a person bleed out. It'll suffice until, again, everyone gets on the same page. :(

And sadly we face one of three issues on this:

1) Mod authors not having the time to make the necessary changes.

2) Mod authors not having enough experience to know what to do.

3) Mod authors thinking their **** don't stink. (I doubt this is the case with the authors in question, but it does happen from time to time (hell, there was once a time that I didn't know what to do with the CK nor had I any experience whatsoever with that sort of thing and ended up helping a 20+ year veteran programmer fix a problem with his mod just by starting the CK up and saying "This doesn't look right? What do?"))

I will probably never use SkyRe and am considering dumping ASIS as well. I do not want to have to dump Inconsequential NPCs, Interesting NPCs, Immersive Patrols, or Immersive Creatures as I'm quite fond of those mods.

As for scripts, it's sort of scaring me how many scripted mods SR adds. Do people really run functional SR installs?

Using Mod Organizer, I have a 100% clean and working SR install, and I'm sure quite some others with me have it too :) You just need to figure out some stuff on your own since a couple mods are outdated (and hence some of the patches no longer can be correctly applied). I then use another profile in M.O. For SR + ASIS + Skyre

A 3rd profile is for expiremental stuff like immersive patrols etc. After changing anything I'll have to re-do the Bashed Patch and SUM of course.

Immersive Patrols does not add any scripts by the way. Therefore I can only come to the conclusion that the lvlpredatorscript CTDs are due to either ASIS or Inconsequential NPCs.

Yeah, I've caught on to using multiple profiles to keep my experiments to the side. That said, it seems like I have this thorny hair issue that transcends the barrier that's supposed to exist between MO and Skyrim/Data.

I dunno how you ever managed to figure out Neovalen's outdated and confusing SR character appearance list. His Legendary one is a lot better but some of the mods don't seem to play nice together.

I have absolutely zero problems with character appearances. I remember it was one of the easier parts of the SR guide to figure out, for me personally.

Did you run FNIS before starting Skyrim?

Of the other mods you mention I don't know but I do know that College of Winterhold Immersive requires TES5editing to forward changes made by the Unofficial Skyrim Patch.

Hmm thanks for this DoubleYou :)
