Neovalen Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Warning: Do not touch the latest BETA driver with a 10 foot pole... attached to another 10 foot pole. It literally made my computer unusable and I had to recover to safe mode to re-install old drivers.
rootsrat Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Thanks for the warning! I am becoming a bit hesitant to upgrade my graphic drivers straight away recently... I'm still using the last ENB friendly one, 314 was it?
TechAngel85 Posted July 25, 2013 Author Posted July 25, 2013 Quote Warning: Do not touch the latest BETA driver with a 10 foot pole... attached to another 10 foot pole. It literally made my computer unusable and I had to recover to safe mode to re-install old drivers.I never (NEVER) use beta drivers! I like the stability of my computer to stay stable. No IT professional in their right mind would ever recommend beta drivers for anything. Beta drivers are beta for a reason....use at your own risk.
Aiyen Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 The issue with ENB should be fixed so the 320 versions should be usable now. But still unless you are playing some game where you get extra FPS out of it... why bother?
Neovalen Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Normally nvidias drivers have been pretty stable but the last 2 series have been buggy. Coinciding with GeForce Experience . 314 series WHQL is still the most stable driver ATM.
EssArrBee Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 When I installed the newest beta everything seemed fine until about 30 minutes after updating, I get a warning saying that I'm low on memory. Process explorer shows the physical mem at 5.9/6.0GB and system commit at 23 GB and no program was using more that 300MB. Whatever Nvidia did when they went to the 320 series drivers was not good.
TechAngel85 Posted July 25, 2013 Author Posted July 25, 2013 I'm running the newest stable release just fine without issue, thus far. It's been several days so I'm not foreseeing anything coming up as an issue with them.
thenobody Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 The last two drivers have been terrible. I couldn't even use Firefox anymore without everything periodically freezing. I went back to 314.22 and all my problems went away.

TechAngel85 Posted November 3, 2013 Author Posted November 3, 2013 Just a quick piece of info: The new 331 drivers are completed unstable on my system (all of them). I was getting sporadic driver crashes even on Windows 7. I've reverted back to 327 and things are running smoothly again. So if you're getting a lot of driver crashes, this might be why. For those that don't know, I'm running a GeForce GTX 460m in my Asus G7.
TechAngel85 Posted July 29, 2014 Author Posted July 29, 2014 There are new drivers available; however, they seem to be geared towards GameStream and ShadowPlay as no other improvements are listed.
Aiyen Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Still on 331.65 and no issues with that one on my end. Like you I have not read any compelling reason to update.
Soire Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 (edited) 340.52 WHQL is out since 30. July. But - no news - only drivers without issues still 314.22 and 331.65.... (I run the 314 atm) Edited August 17, 2014 by Soire
TechAngel85 Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 I'm running the newest drivers under Windows 7 and have not had any issues yet.
Neovalen Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Define "issues"... I am using the latest and noticed nothing wrong with them.
