Thought I would start a thread to keep track of new release and issues of the nVidia drivers.

Currently, driver version 320.18 (May 23, 2013) has been released which boasts a 3.3% performance boost for Skyrim at 1920x1080 resolution on max settings.

I'm downloading this version now.

I've got them installed but have not tested them with the latest ENB version. I know the previous 320 series drivers had issues when used with ENB such as sunrays clipping objects.

I've not tested them either, but sadly I'm not planning to use an ENB from here on out. With the combination of RLO and CoT, I've found enough visual interest that I can do without it. Plus, I like playing at a higher screen resolution than the ENBs allow on my laptop. With an ENB, I'm forced down to 1366x768. Without one, I can play at max resolution (for this laptop) on high settings; 1600x900.

Still, this would be good information to know for the community and is the other half of the reason as to why I created this thread.

I will download the new 320 drivers and feed back. The beta version was confirmed to be causing glitches with ENB. Hopefully these issues were fixed in the relase version.

Update: the WHQL 320.18 nvidia driver is not ENB friendly. The clipping issue present in the beta version of this driver was not fixed:

314.22 remains the lates WHQL ENB-friendly version.

P.S. Nvidia released an application called NVIDIA GeForce experience that keeps track of new updates and has options to optimise graphic setting for games. Not all games are included yet though.

Hahaha! That's actually kind of funny! :woot:

Not sure if 3.3% performance boost is worth loosing the sunrays effect... With beta, reducing SunIntensity value to 0.2 helped with the clipping, so that's another way to "fix" it (it's not really a fix, just a workaround). The sun doesn't look that impressive though.

I am going to stick to 314 for now.

I advise against using GeForce Experience to tweak Skyrim. It pretty much defaults to Ultra settings on my card, which is useless if you want to use ENB or force your own AA through the drivers.

Its game database is fairly limited to and I found it intrusive and inaccurate for games you would do the tweaking yourself.

Still, it's a great tool for gamers who have no idea how their system handles the new titles.

I didn't suggest to use it for tweaking Skyrim, more for driver updates.

NCP has an automatic update function already. You can also choose whether you want it to search for Beta drivers or not.
