Hey guys, thanks again for being so awesome and working for the community.

Im currently on STEP 2.3, with SE exe .1170. I am having an issue with Kryptopyr's patch hub, when it interacts with skyrim conflict resolution. Both of these mods are a bundle of .esl flags so I cant see them in xEdit. When I have the atyourownpace-misc_TCIY_Patch.esp enabled I get an infinite load before the main menu. I know its not THAT extensive of a patch, but its a unique problem I haven't had the last couple years. Typically infinite load is being unable to find a particular file, or a patch patching itself. Step conflict resolution is supposed to be working alongside kryptopyr's patch hub for certain mods found in the list, in this case, TCIY being one of them. Ive checked my install instructions from the guide, the mod pages, the requirements, posts tabs, had a look for some self references in xedit in conflict resolution using the referencing records tab, moved load order in left and right pane around in MO2, reinstalls, havent had any luck. If I made some kind of mistake I dont want to make it again as I continue to build the load order. I also need help fixing this kind of issue, and what I could I even do besides just turn it off. The load order mostly step, Ive only added spells, redone the college, some stuff for unarmed, the bards reborn series and reqs (Though currently disabled for later, navmesh ctd with an HD texture pack from the mod page?)

We're not quite at 2.4 yet.... is it possible something is wrong with the CR patch not that kryptopyr just posted an update last month? is it him or you guys or is it me? Is that particular esp redundant or not necessary? Is there way to unflag certain .esp(s) so that I can troubleshoot them? I just want a sense of direction.

If you are following the guide, then you must first install, configure and LOOT-sort all of the mods/plugins as instructed by the guide after everything is installed. If you try to launch the game before everything is installed, configured, and sorted, strange things might happen. Per Step 4 of the guide:

Also, disable (left pane of MO) any mod you installed that is not part of the guide. Until you have a working build, adding mods not in the guided build only adds unexpected noise. Do that after you have a valid and working Step 2.3 build.

You can see all plugins in xEdit, regardless of type, so I'm not sure what you mean about not being able to see ESL flagged mods in xEdit. Those will all be prefixed by [FE XXX] in xEdit left pane. Krypto's Patch Hub installs a bunch of plugins based on mods/plugins you have installed. This is another reason you shouldn't extend the Step mod list with your own additions yet.

Make sure you don't have any DLLs in your game folder other than those installed with SKSE and Engine Fixes (and those included with the base game itself) ...no ENB at this point.

Install the guide through Step 6 before testing on a new character rather than a preexisting save from another build. Always sort with LOOT after ensuring all mods are enabled and all plugins are also enabled before running the game.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I've been all over the recent guide checking my work because I know its almost always user error

I was on Step 2.2 with a .640 build for months so my load order got bigger. I deleted the game folder making space for another game eventually, so my .exe went to .1170. Downgrade patching didnt fix everything I worked on. I am in the arduous process of troubleshooting a lot of different things. I've went through in chunks isolating the problem mods, I have been testing on a new character knowing my last one was more than likely lost.

I can see the .esl in xEdit but I cant load them to check or modify their records. I'll just have to turn them off if I cant resolve conflicts with them

Any other foreseeable problems trying to repair a skyrim build? So far hasnt been horrible. Updating has fixed three ctds so far, only minor problems are left.

If you are trying to downgrade the game and use the 2.3 guide, then that will be a problem. If you follow the guide exactly from start to finish (including the SSG, and restoring the vanilla 1170 game), you will be golden. There is no conflict resolution necessary.
