Sometimes when I'm out in the world I get random crashes. Sometimes it's during combat, sometimes even just while running around. Only happens in exteriors, never in any dungeons or other interior locations. Usually it's not that frequent but today I got two within one hour, both while exploring Soul Cairn.

Here's the first crash log: https://pastebin.com/1PmY26bD

Here's the second: https://pastebin.com/mQT05CKC

Phostwood can't figure out what's happening either. The only common thread I've noticed among these crashes is that Occlusion.esp always shows up in the Mod Prominence Analysis. But idk if that's anything to go on. Could someone help me out here?

Test if your crashes stop with Occlusion.esp disabled. Play for a while like that. That plugin only gives you slightly better performance in some exteriors, so you don't need it to play. Just ignore the warning that it's missing on load.

If you don't get any crashes doing similar things for a good while without that plugin enabled, we can move this over to DynDOLOD support. Be sure you keep your relevant DynDOLOD logs if that becomes necessary.

I've been playing for a bit with Occlusion.esp turned off (maybe 2-3 hours) and the crashes have definitely stopped (I have noticed a lot more things popping in randomly in the distance but that's better than crashes at least). I'm not 100% sure if disabling Occlusion did the trick or if I just got lucky though.

Should I give it more time or should we move it to DynDOLOD support?

Occlusion.esp has nothing to do with LOD pop-in and the like. It only prevents areas of the landscape from rendering when they cannot be seen (are occluded from view). If you continue doing the types of actions you had been doing and get no crashes with Occlusion.esp disabled and play for an hour or two, then try enabling it again and doing similar things for another hour or two. If you still don't CTD, then keep going until it finally does. Then re-post your crash log and DynDOLOD logs as described at the top of this page. I will then move this topic into DynDOLOD support where you can get troubleshooting help to determine the cause of the CTDs.
