A device attached to the system is not functioning trying to find executable for *.html

Question

Posted

First time posting here so go easy on me. Anyway, no idea if this is issue is related to my System/Setup or a bug with DynDOLOD itself, but it seem to complete itself as normal up until it the end where it displays this message, resulting in an incomplete generation that I cannot use. I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what I did wrong.

AFAIK, I have all the requirements for DynDOLOD installed and setup properly. The page it links me to for documentation does not seem to cover this specific issue.

Error

Bug Report log is located here: https://paste.ee/p/baHbJy8W

Debug Log: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1T32A2qdPxn3aRGxRZ3I0_JRvb0AjjgLP/view?usp=sharing

Any help would be appreciated. I cannot understand this error or why I have it. I'd be happy to pull any other logs if it's needed.

You didn't provide the DynDOLOD debug log, which provides key information required to understand the issue.

Just guessing from the crash log, I suspect that you are not executing the application as expected. Install DynDOLOD by extracting it into an empty folder on your drive. Delete any previous DynDOLOD install first. Do not install the DynDOLOD application as a mod.

After you ensure the application is installed correctly, carefully read how to set up the executable and run DynDOLOD.

Thanks for the quick response. I am not installing it as a mod in vortex or launching it through vortex, merely through the executable itself in a folder on my E: Drive. In case I wasn't specific enough, the application works and operates just fine right up until the very, very end. As shown in my DynDOLOD_SSE_Debug_log.

Also I'm trying to post my DynDOLOD_SSE_Debug_log.txt file but it's 244 MB and most of the listed "Pastebin Alternatives" can't handle it and cut it off. Is there somewhere specific you want me to upload it to, or is anywhere fine? It's just the log itself.

Here's the log:

I could view it with Google's Text Editor (i.e. texteditor.co) but it's so big it lags my browser. The stuff at the end might be the most relevant.

See the forum guidelines for tips on third-party file-sharing services. Use zip or 7z to archive the files first.

Here's the log in a 7zip file. I couldn't find any "Approved hosts" on the guidelines page. I'm sure google drive is fine, but I just want to be sure.

Apologies, but, I'm trying to use these one of these recommended sites, but they either crash my browser trying to post the log file, or if it does work, cuts it off halfway through. The Google Drive file will have to do for now.

Use the Copy message to clipboard link and post the text of the message instead of a screenshot. See https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Copy-and-Paste-Text

The OS does not seem to have an application associated with opening htrml files or web links. It is usually the default web browser.

This can generally be fixed by right clicking an *.html file, select open with, choose a browser and check the box to always open with it.

Noted. Also, Setting HTML files to associate with my browser fixed it, I feel so silly I wasted so much time trying to figure out this simple issue. My day has not been going great, but you made my day much better. Thanks a lot. :)
