Hello, I've just noticed (and it's now the only thing I can see) that buildings, rocks, and whatnot only seem to gain a shadow when I approach them from pretty close.

Attached are two screenshots (taken in free cam but the exact same applies) where you can clearly see that the shadows disappear while I'm still quite close to the elements, making it pretty distracting. I setup the view distances and everything according to the STEP guide, do let me know if I need to upload my .ini files or my modlist.

Well, if you use console TFC TCL, it's not really 'normal' gameplay, but this is expected. I believe these settings are what you want to increase (maybe just fShadowDistance). These are the values if using BethINI Ultra preset:

It's probably not noticeable in most situations during normal gameplay though.

yeah using freecam to illustrate wasn't necessarily the best idea, but it *is* very noticeable in normal gameplay and especially on horse back, where I see the shadows pop in very close and it makes areas look off with barely any visibility, namely in caves and dungeons.

It appears like my values were off though, and changing that seems to do the trick. I'll update when I'm in a dungeon, thanks a lot :)
