Varla Stone broken in 2.3? Fixed for me by external patch despite RUSTIC "fix"

My Flawed varla stones don't fill at all and I didn't download any extra soulstone mods. I checked the plugin order and RUSITC COULGEMS - Sorted - ESL - GIST.esp comes after GIST soul trap.esp. This is the LOOT order and is the order I would expect.

When looking online at something like this patch: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/64650?tab=files it says to put it after GIST and people in the comments of the post say that RUSTIC conflicts with it but I downloaded the patch, LOOT sorted it after RUSTIC and now my varla stones work as expected.

This would need to be play tested to be sure it's not buggy. There's very little info on that mod (or the internet) about the problem. I posted on GIST about this.

Also, GIST itself is getting many "doesn't work" comments since the game, so I think we'll need to playtest GIST as well.
