Question

Posted

I just started a fresh install.  I was following the Skyrim revisited list of mods and order.  Every new male character I create has one arm longer/bigger than the other.  I've tried a variety of races.   I've tried uninstalling RaceMenu so i don't think its impacting the bicep size.  Plus these are just default presets.  Anyone have some ideas what I might have done to break this?

I uninstalled all the mods and was getting no where. I went ahead and just removed everything Steam and Skyrim and re-downloaded/installed. I tried to reload all the mods piecemeal but was getting ctd's at launch. Hard to remember all the pre-reqs. Finally just enabled it all and was able to start a new character with new game. Incidentally, uninstalling racemenu and starting a new game did not help the issue.

I thought I had it fixed and it cam back and restarted the game. Going to continue to work on this. Darn!

Just thought I'd see if anyone else has any input on what files would have to be changed to create this anomaly. I'm out of town, but know when I get home I'll have to trouble-shoot this one. Could it be a result of the ddsopt of the bethesda bsa files? It does not seem to be racemenu. Again, I was following Skyrim re-visited.

I think the key question is what file would have to be changed to cause this effect. I wasn't aware of any right vs. left arm/side modifications.

Just tell your character to switch jerking arms

Thanks.

I deactivated FNIS to no avail.  I'm at a loss.  I may just have to start a female character. lol

I'm using MO and I deactivated every mod on the left with the exception of Alternate Start and SKSE and I STILL generate a new character with a large arm. I think the only other possible place is the overwrite directory, but I would think the mods would have to be active?

I'm getting close to just giving up.

I loaded up everything and then used z929669's save games just to see. The proportions were right. If I changed the race, I'd get the disproportion - including on female characters. I also discovered if I went into a new game with alternate start, I would get the problem, but if I loaded the save first then went into alternate start, the proportions were good if I did not adjust the initial race. It doesn't make any sense to me. I just bought DB and DG, and I guess if I want to play through with someone's save, I might be okay. I really want to play rather than fighting with this. Maybe I'll blow it all away again and see.

I just don't get it.  I removed Skyrim.  Every file was gone.  I re-installed Skyrim from scratch.  I launch it via Steam.  I loaded a save game from this thread:

I disabled all the extra content. I simply did a showracemenu and changed to a DE and bumped up the weight.  This is what I get.  It is not as bad as before, but you see a difference right?  It even looks like the right trap is bigger than the left.  Makes no sense.

If I can't help to solve it here, sadly, I'm done.

Have you tried using the Race Menu plugin that lets you increase/decrease the size of the arms? You might have to do it every time you start a character, but it's better than nothing.
