Question

Posted

First: Thank you Sheson et. al for DynDOLOD.

I have been using for a while (prior versions) without issue by RTFM advise & some great YouTube video tutorials.
With the DynDOLOD 3 I thought I would upload and give an attempt.
No issues with TexGen. DynDOLOD stops on the Heljarchen Farm Revamped mod.
I know you cannot know my load order or what conflicts may exist. I am hoping you can translate the message below so I can look into learning more about the inner workings of modding.

Thanks,
Dag

Thanks I'll try and look into this at a later date. I've found Dyndolod the most difficult thing to get working almost every mod seems to come up with a Dyndolod msg error I just dont think Dyndolod runs well with heavy mods play lists. I'll play the game without Dyndolod for the forseable  future until it can handle mod lists. I'll play the game with mods that recomend using dyndold and just ignore their suggestions as the game runs perfectly fine without Dyndolod.

Expand

DynDOLOD works perfectly fine with heavy mods play lists as it being an integral part of every well made modding guide and mod list over the past decade proofs. It is used perfectly fine by millions of users.

The errors still exist in plugins, mods and the load order regardless of using DynDOLOD or not. Many of the errors will cause problems and issues regardless sooner or later. Certain problems and errors prevent the tool from doing what you want the tool to do.

It is fine not to use a tool, especially when its requirements are not met. Just be honest about the reason.

It is not really that difficult to build a properly working load order when following proper modding practice as taught and explained by many modding guides since years. Either fix errors - especially the one reported by xEdit - in broken plugins or do not use badly made mods. This is rudimentary modding practice. When being able and willing to build a properly working, then using tools and patchers requiring that as a basis is easy and simple. Blaming the victim or messengers of problems caused by badly made mods or a users decisions to ignore problems and hope for the best is not going to solve or help anything.

I suggest to follow a modding guide to learn proper modding practice and to build a stable working load order.

DynDOLOD provides me with this error and I have no idea how to resolve this. I used the batch cleaner function for SSEEdit and it has proven to not fix the issue. Can anyone help me here? All I can determine is that this is a WTT issue

In case there is an unresolved form ID for a large reference, unset the Hide "never shown" checkbox in the xEdit Options, General tab to list the Large References entries on the worldspace record for further troubleshooting. If the unresolved form ID is in a different master plugin, then update either plugin to the correct version. Sometimes plugins simply contain a copy of the entire Large References list of a master plugin for no actual reason. Typically only the same plugin adding the reference needs to also set it as a large reference, though plugins overwriting the reference may list it again in their own Large References list. Use the Skyrim SE - Generate Large References.pas script shipping with in xEdit to generate the Large References data after removing it from a worldspace.

Provide an xEdit screenshot that verifies your assumption. The current version of WTT - Skyrim-Solstheim - Worldsettings.esp does not contain any large references, so it can not really have this error.

The message says the error is in Dragonborn.esm. The vanilla Dragonborn.esm contains a reference xx03B42D, so there is no reason for the large references list entry on the worldspace record to have an unresolved formID. Something must have happened to the plugin. I suggest to download the vanilla version of the plugin again to replace the broken version.

Cleaning plugins can not and does not fix unresolved form IDs / missing records.

In case the message mentions that a plugin might be the wrong version, double check it is the correct version for the game version and for any other plugins using it as a master and vice versa. ...  For example, patch plugins might need updating in case any of the plugins they are patching changed.

Just like the error message and the additional explanations describe, the patch is most likely for an older version of Legacy of the Dragonborn and needs to be updated for the new version.

I'm having an issue I can't resolve.  I'm including the last generation of my log... the problem is with my Smashed Patch so I can't reference the mod page for any help.  I followed the link in the error message, followed the instructions as best I could and watched the video.  I cleaned the patch in xEdit and checked for errors.  While xEdit did find 5 of them, none were related to the error message generated by Dyndolod.  Here's the link to the log: https://paste.ee/p/eho0F

Start by checking the plugin and record with xEdit mentioned in the Error in ... message.

Look up the reference with form ID 000383C9 in xEdit and check its entry for the base record of the last plugins to the right. In vanilla the references uses 000383C7 as the base record. If there are such errors in an automatically generated patch, the patch probably needs to be created from scratch for the current load order.

If further help is required provide a screenshot of the reference in xEdit. https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#xEdit-Screenshots

https://dyndolod.info/Generation-Instructions#Prerequisites
Clean and error check the load order with xEdit.
Do this before running DynDOLOD.

Thank you for responding and apologies for posting incorrectly.  After some investigation, it seems that I'm unable to use Mator Smash for my game as it seems to have generated several similar errors.  I was able to isolate them after updating xEdit to the latest version but was unable to resolve them properly.

Thanks again.

Hi guys, i'm relatively new to modding and im struggling with dyndolod a little bit. I'm gettting the error message from the title of the post when i try to generate LODs. it also says "Update.esm might be the wrong version for DBM_CC_HallOfWonders.esp or vice versa".

Now, after reading the help section on this error on the DynDOLOD website I have concluded that this is happening because I had recently installed all my mods on 1.5.97 and upgraded to AE to install the CC content then DOWNGRADED back again to 1.5.97. I think i downgraded my main plugins (skyrim.esm, update.esm, etc.) rather than just the executable (i did not know i had to do this) and now my game is breaking.

I want to stay on 1.5.97 as all of my mods (almost 2,000) are attuned to that version, while keeping the CC content, and fixing my game so i can generate LODs. Does anyone know the solution to this?

You already know the problem and solution has nothing to do with DynDOLOD, so it is not quite clear why you are asking here for help instead of a generic modding guide and its help forum as they should be better equipped with helping how to properly set up the game.

Make a backup of the *.exe and *.dll in the game folder. Update to the latest game version. Make a second backup of that current game folder.  Then restore the *.exe and *.dll from the first backup to the game folder. Do not make any changes to the data folder.

Receiving an error about a version difference between mods, despite both being on 1.71. Legacy Of the Dragonborn, as well as the LOTD patch for JK's High Hrothgar. FIX THE ERROR as explained in the help or permanently remove the plugin.
Ignore wrong "advice" to only temporarily disable plugins, which does not FIX THE ERROR.
Do not try to circumvent the error message, FIX THE ERROR instead.
This is not a DynDOLOD error. DynDOLOD is not crashing.
There is an unresolved Form ID error in the mentioned plugin that needs to be fixed.
This error prevents a successful LOD patch generation.
Use the xEdit error check to find and fix all unresolved Form ID errors in one single session as explained in the intructions.

No link where the patch plugin can be downloaded was provided.

It seems you are misting the plugin version 1.71 with a mod version. The plugin version is a number from CK and the game to know the format or data types expected in the plugin.

As the error message explains, JKs High Hrothgar - LOTD Patch.esp was made for a different version of LegacyoftheDragonborn.esm

You will have to go by mod release versions seen on Nexus or by release/file dates.

The current version of Legacy of the Dragonborn is 6.8.0 and was released January 25. If the patch plugin is older, then whoever made the patch should probably update it for the latest version.

Without the logs and the patch plugin is is not clear if the reference would be just removed or what other errors there might be.

Apologies if continuing here is the wrong place, but when searching for unresolved form IDs I find this thread. Im having an issue when running DynDOLOD (My first time using it) I get 2 different unresolved form IDs. Whenever I autoclean one with SSEEdit the other one pops up.

[Window Title]

[Main Instruction]
Unresolved FormID [384CC27A]

[Content]
Error in Sjel Blad Castle_SE.esp SBC_Kitchen_Soil_Tree "Fertile Soil (Tree)" [ACTI:384CC278]

This is the first one, and when I fix that in SSEEdit I get this one:

[Main Instruction]
Unresolved FormID [57075F60]

[Content]
Error in Rayeks_End_SSE_1.0.esp RE_MirrorActivator "Mirror" [ACTI:5732CAC5]

And then if I fix this one in SSEEdit, then it bounces back to the first one and the cycle keeps going.

I am totally lost, other than completely removing the plugins, how do I fix this?

As explained in the Generation Instructions, finalize the load order, install mods, sort and resolve conflicts. Clean and error check the load order with xEdit to find and fix unresolved form ID errors before generating LOD.

https://tes5edit.github.io/docs/7-mod-cleaning-and-error-checking.html#CheckingForErrors
Cleaning and error checking are two different things.

One of the plugins seem to have quite a few errors. The other only one. If there is no newer/fixed version to be found you can attempt to fix them yourself.

I think for many this applies https://dyndolod.info/Messages/Unresolved-Form-ID
In case the unresolved form ID is for a VMAD script property and the intended record can not be determined or the property has been removed from the script, remove the property from the properties listing via right click, Remove in xEdit.
