Unresolved FormID

Dagnathur

Question

First: Thank you Sheson et. al for DynDOLOD.

I have been using for a while (prior versions) without issue by RTFM advise & some great YouTube video tutorials.
With the DynDOLOD 3 I thought I would upload and give an attempt.
No issues with TexGen. DynDOLOD stops on the Heljarchen Farm Revamped mod.
I know you cannot know my load order or what conflicts may exist. I am hoping you can translate the message below so I can look into learning more about the inner workings of modding.

Thanks,
Dag

You copied and pasted an error message that explains what the problem in the load order is. You did not ask a question. Do you require help to fix the error in your load order?

Read https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Post-Logs which DynDOLOD log and debug log to upload when making posts.

As explained in https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Read-Log-and-Error-Messages, click onto the link "Click on this link for additional explanations and help for this message" in order to open https://dyndolod.info/Messages/Unresolved-Form-ID for further explanations and help:
In case the message mentions that a plugin might be the wrong version, double check it is the correct version for the game version and for any other plugins using it as a master and vice versa.

Open Cities Skyrim.esp was probably made for a different version of Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp.
You might also need to use matching language versions.

As explained in https://dyndolod.info/Generation-Instructions#Prerequisites, "Finalize the load order. Install mods and their requirements. Sort and resolve conflicts. Clean and error check the load order with xEdit." That will find such errors in the load order before attempting to generate the LOD patch.

It turned out to be an inappropriate version of the localization patch, thanks for solving my problem.

I downloaded a 1.5.97.0 modlist, Ascensio, through Wabbajack, and later had AE gifted to me by a friend. I thought to simply drag and drop the CC content into MO2 as separate mods, and it appeared to work fine in-game... but when I loaded DynDOLOD, I got errors like these preventing me from actually doing anything with it.

This is just one such example of the errors.

For example, do not use plugins or paid mods from the Creation Club Anniversary Edition with outdated vanilla game plugins from before the Anniversary update (only downgrade the executable of the game, not the plugins). Update the required plugins and use matching versions.

Search this forum for the error as explained in https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Use-Search. It finds this post:

Either cceejsse005-cave.esm has been modified or more likely one of its masters is the wrong/outdated version. Probably Dawnguard.esm.

Read https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Post-Logs which entire DynDOLOD log and debug log to upload when making posts.

As explained, the paid mods obviously require the latest/matching versions of the vanilla game plugins.

Apologies, I was too mentally drained to follow proper protocol. Here you go:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/15KLPvgyFpw6lNyn2-MLJSsSGmf27VyT0/view?usp=sharing

I don't think it would tell you anything that would help me, however. At the end of the day, I couldn't even get a "stock" BOBW setup working correctly, so I may have to start from an AE Wabbajack list.

And mind you: this is just *one* of the offending plugins.

https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Use-the-Latest-Versions
Always use the latest DynDOLOD Standalone and DynDOLOD Resources version.

The logs show that Dawnguard.esm has a CRC32 of A8AD8072, which indicates it is not the latest or latest quick cleaned version (that ship with 1.6.1770) which the CC plugins are made for.

Downgrading is basically just replacing the SkyrimSE.exe with whatever runtime of your choice and making sure to keep binkw64.dll if required and older version of steam_api64.dll in case SteamLess is not used to remove the DRM.

https://dyndolod.info/Messages/Unresolved-Form-ID
Clean and error check the load order with xEdit to find and fix unresolved form ID errors before generating LOD.
Start by checking the plugin and record with xEdit mentioned in the Error in ... message.

The error is in SMTX_Woodcutter.esp  and the record is xx0016E6

In case the unresolved form ID is for a script property and the intended record can not be determined or the property has been removed from the script, remove the property from the properties listing via right click, Remove in xEdit.

Doing so will fix the unresolved form ID error and not change how the script is currently working (or not).

If the mannequin is not working, it might be possible that the record that should be linked is xx002371 in SMTX_Woodcutter.esp. However, it really should be fixed by the author or someone who has the time and ability to properly test the mod and script, papyrus log etc.

You may also want to read the comments of the mod.

https://dyndolod.info/Messages/Unresolved-Form-ID
Unresolved Form ID errors signify records that try to use non-existing records in the same or master plugins.
...
Clean and error check the load order with xEdit to find and fix unresolved form ID errors before generating LOD. ... Check the load order for errors with xEdit before generating LOD. Fix all errors. See this video for help (ignore the old cleaning instructions as that was already done). Following proper modding practice and error checking with xEdit finds and fixes unresolved Form ID errors long before using tools that require an error free load order. Fixing these errors in the load order means a more stable and better working game and mods.

As explained, cleaning and error checking are two different things.

In case the message mentions that a plugin might be the wrong version, double check it is the correct version for the game version and for any other plugins using it as a master and vice versa. ... For example, patch plugins might need updating in case any of the plugins they are patching changed. For example, when compacting form IDs to convert a plugin to a light plugin (ESL), all other plugins using the converted plugin as a master need to be loaded/updated as well so they are also use the new form IDs.

The original Laundry.esp is a full plugin and not a light plugin. So this probably means something went wrong when it was converted to a light plugin.

I'm attempting to create my DynDOLOD files to work with Seasons of Skyrim. I've created my xLODGen output, as well as my TexGen output. But when attempting to create my DynDOLOD output to finish the process, I received an Unresolved FormID error message. I've tried to dig through xEdit to find and correct the issue, but I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to do to correct this without breaking Heljarchen Farm.

Thanks I'll try and look into this at a later date. I've found Dyndolod the most difficult thing to get working almost every mod seems to come up with a Dyndolod msg error I just dont think Dyndolod runs well with heavy mods play lists. I'll play the game without Dyndolod for the forseable  future until it can handle mod lists. I'll play the game with mods that recomend using dyndold and just ignore their suggestions as the game runs perfectly fine without Dyndolod.

DynDOLOD works perfectly fine with heavy mods play lists as it being an integral part of every well made modding guide and mod list over the past decade proofs. It is used perfectly fine by millions of users.

The errors still exist in plugins, mods and the load order regardless of using DynDOLOD or not. Many of the errors will cause problems and issues regardless sooner or later. Certain problems and errors prevent the tool from doing what you want the tool to do.

It is fine not to use a tool, especially when its requirements are not met. Just be honest about the reason.

It is not really that difficult to build a properly working load order when following proper modding practice as taught and explained by many modding guides since years. Either fix errors - especially the one reported by xEdit - in broken plugins or do not use badly made mods. This is rudimentary modding practice. When being able and willing to build a properly working, then using tools and patchers requiring that as a basis is easy and simple. Blaming the victim or messengers of problems caused by badly made mods or a users decisions to ignore problems and hope for the best is not going to solve or help anything.

I suggest to follow a modding guide to learn proper modding practice and to build a stable working load order.
