Bealdwine Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Dammit! Yet again I'm working through that whole period :P My son is insisting I get it as he grew up with us playing the Diablo series together :) (he was too young and impatient for 'proper' RPGs back then, lol).
stoppingby4now Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Barely over 3 weeks to go until release. Unfortunately the Beta doesn't let you go beyond Act I, but I'm enjoying it so far. Really digging the Witch Doctor.
Bealdwine Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Diablo III finally downloaded :) There is the slight possibility I may be a little lax in my attention to Skyrim and our Project for a 'couple' of days... I will try to keep one eye on things here tho'. B)
stoppingby4now Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 I'll keep up with the forums, but that's about it for me as well. Have to get some D3 time in. :)
Vond Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Diablo series is the only Blizzard series I can't understand what people like about. I mean I love the setting, but the mass-mouseclick-fest that was Diablo 1 and 2 just never did it for me. Now Warcraft (strategy games that is, not so much WoW) and especially the best games ever made, StarCraft 1 & 2, THAT I can understand. :) Enjoy the "time off" I guess~ ;)

stoppingby4now Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 I love the Warcraft and Starcraft series as well. I'm a huge fan of RTS, much more than FPS. I have friends that also didn't like the Diablo series, but I absolutely loved them. Some of that love was wanting to get to the next stage to watch their cinematics. :)
Vond Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Yeah the cinematics was the main reason I played thru Diablo 1 & 2, and the reason I most likely will play thru D3 at some point in the future. Blizzard just do amazing cinematics!
frihyland Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 I played diablo once for 15 min at a friends, no interst in 2 or 3. Starcraft and warcraft for me. ( I actually rather like shogun 2 as well).
Vond Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 ( I actually rather like shogun 2 as well). Yeah Shogun 2 was quite excellent too though very different, but the only strategygames I've stuck with for long periods of time are SC1/BW til WC3 release, then WC3 til SC2 release, and I still play SC2 online just about every day. :)
Bealdwine Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Basically I have enjoyed all the above games (Tho' I prefered Medieval Total War to Shogun) but I find it difficult to give the time to strategy games that they deserve. But my heart belongs to fantasy RPGs :) As to the Diablo series, well, it was the first simplified RPG game and tbh I looked down on it in many ways but it was also the game that I used to introduce my son to the joys of PC gaming and one we could play co-op & online when that was a rare thing, so... I guess it's a bit of a nostalgia thing for me, and no worse than mindless FPS blasting except with swords! ;) Gods I really do need a worthwhile MMORPG to get all social about :(
