Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm finding your guide really clear and to the point as I go through it now in my free time but, I have come across a small issue.

In the Optimizing the Bethesda Textures heading, you state to use the steps under "Vanilla Texture Preparation" on another page that you link to, however, there is no "Vanilla Texture Preparation" heading on that page. Probably a small oversight.

Regardless, thanks for your work!

Dear AmeerHM,

At the bottom of the page that is linked in SR-LE

Quick-Start Guides

Vanilla Skyrim and STEP Mod Texture Optimization

From that page

Guide:DDSopt

Download v2.81 batch files referenced in the Guide (updated June 13, 2015)

Take your time to read the details provided on that page.

Updated the link... apparently the STEP team made some changes to their pages :)

Neo, have you taken a look at Immerse Citizens - AI Overhaul? The authot stated the mod would release tomorrow at 1200 EST. Based on how it reads, it could replace some of the NPC AI adjustment mods for increased compatibility.

It looks interesting, release is tommorow so I will try it then. :) Might take away a few of the mods already in the guide.

I've just been playing around with an issue I thought was to blame on one of my non- SRLE mods.

The fade-to-black bug that happens when using frostfall tents or mods that add sleeping animations. Seems this is an issue that comes with using an ENB and whether there is a fix or not depends on the ENB in question.

Do we know if Vividian has a fix for this?

As you guys might imagine, ASIS not yet being updated has thrown a kink into guide updates of late. I hope a new version will be uploaded soon so things can get back on track.

Hey Neo.  You're probably already aware of it but, if not, there is a workaround posted on the ASIS and USKP pages.  I haven't tried it out yet personally as I've been testing CAIO on a stripped down game but Arthmoor and EggOver recommend it so I'm guessing it's legit.  The instructions are pretty straight forward so users shouldn't have much of a problem with it though maybe Arthmoor might let you post a ready made USKP version to use for patching.  As posted:

How to use the latest USKP 2.1.2 with your Skyproc-based patcher:

1. Install TES5Edit.

2. Install the new Unofficial Skyrim Patch 2.1.2.

3. Start TES5Edit and select the Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp only.

4. Wait until the message log states "Background Loader: finished".

5. Select and delete the entire Cell group. Click yes on both warnings to do so.

6. Close TES5Edit and click OK to save the modified Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp.

7. Run your Skyproc-based patcher.

8. IMPORTANT: As a final step, you MUST reinstall the original Unofficial Skyrim Patch 2.1.2. As Arthmoor said: "for the love of Talos, don't forget to put back the proper version once you're done! BAD THINGâ„¢ happen otherwise."

You can now play your game. Skyproc patchers, as far as I know, do not modify cell entries therefore your automatically generated patch will be perfect.

@Yippee The guide is already up to date. You only need to do that workaround before you run SUM.

Yeah.  I know that.  I'd rather not have to do the workaround though.  It's just extra work and it's going to get fixed soon.  I'd rather have it fixed before I do the install.
