Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

I finally got SUM to work, but only by going into the MO>mods>SUM folder and double clicking on the SUM.jar. But I do not get any patchers (despite having ASIS and Dual Sheath Redux. Have I missed a step?

Because you opened SUM outside of Mod Organizer, it cannot see that you have DSR and ASIS installed.

I can not open SUM through MO. When I run it as an executable nothing happens except a SkyProcs Patcher forming in the MO overwrite. The only way I have been able to get the SUM interface is when I go through the SUM.jar OUTSIDE MO, i.e. in the MO>mods folder.

triptonite; if you gone through the readme you probably already checked this, but are you 100% sure you downloaded the 32-bit version of java when you updated, and the arguments to SUM in MO are referencing the "Program files(x86)" version of javaw.exe? (assuming you installed to default location)

If you normally install everything to default locations, see if you java is installed in "Program Files (x86)" rather than "Program Files". If in any doubt, you can head over to here and redownload, making sure you select "Windows X86" rather than "x64".

Once installed, remember you will need to change the arguments of your SUM shortcut in MO to point to the 32-bit version.

triptonight:  Are you able to run asis and/or dual sheath as executibles through MO?  That would let you know if you're running the correct version of Java as well as if there are any other problems in your set up.  If SUM keeps giving you problems and you can run them individually you might be better off doing that since SRLE doesn't call on merging them via SUM.  The only thing you'd really be missing out on is convenience.

Some other options to check:

From Rauflin, via the Perma page:  If you are unable to run PaMa after updating MO to 1.3.6, make sure you updated to the correct version. There was a bug in the first upload of 1.3.6 that prevented SkyProcs from running.

Try to allocate more memory to the patcher.  T3nd0 has a good explanation on how to do this on the Wintermyst page:  https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58635/?

Of course, make sure to reboot and then run the patcher first.  It's my experience that Java can be a finicky little *****, especially the 32 -bit version.  It's surprising at how quickly a Skyproc Patcher can bring it to it's knees.

Is it okay to remove TheChoiceIsYours.esp master from the SR Conflict resolution in Tes5edit? Do i have to remove every record that contains thechoiceisyours.esp or its enough to remove the master file from the file header?

You need to also remove each record.

@thorgal Anywhere :p I doesn't overwrite any files. As for the load order, it doesn't really matter where you put it, just let LOOT handle it. I believe it only overwrites records from Skyrim.esm and Dawnguard.esm anyway.

I've been playing with the mod for a while and while the new music is very refreshing, some of its tracks feel a little out of place.. (well duh, some tracks are from The Witcher) I also have a bit trouble setting the Music Volume at such a level that it is audible as background music, but not too overwhelming during combat. Other than that it's a great addition imo :)

Neo, links that are in the format: https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/XXX are giving issues.

You'll need to reformat them as https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/XXX

Realistic Smoke and Embers is one example.

Triptonite: Have you performed any sort of skill check yet? An easy one would be to ask Alvor in Riverwood if he needs any help around the forge and do the little smithing tutorial. That or try finding a trainer and ensure you're actually levelling skills.
