Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

Tried new game

Tried to wait hours.

Looks like interiors are unaffected.

Lastest papyrus line is always : [None].ProperWeaponScaleEffect.OnCellDetach() - "ProperWeaponScaleEffect.psc" Line ?

Even vanilla Skyrim is crashing wut.

That's from xpms. Have you updated to the latest? I know previous versions had crash issues but I don't have any with current.

Love Skyrim Revisited. I bought and built a new computer just so I could mod the hell out of Skyrim and stumbled upon STEP then SRLE. Have spent over a week going through the process of following the guide. Up until 2 months ago I considered myself a noob at modding and grew in confidence. Your guide has taken it to a whole new level with DDSopt, TES5Edit and patching/merging (so I still call myself a noob but it is changing).

I have fnally installed everything up to the Conflict Resolution section and have stumbled upon a problem. I could not find the "0703C819 DLC2SkaalClothesChild" entry or the RSChildren_CompleteUSKP.esp. I have RSChildren in MO but not TES5Edit. I checked the Mod Folder in MO an RSChildren_CompleteUSKP.esp is in the right place. I rechecked if I did the installation correctly, but cannot see what I missed out.

On another note, I was also wondering why more of the mods had not been merged as the installation took place. I saw a YouTube clip that merged a whole lot of body and facial mods and I was wondering why this sort of thing was not done in SRLE. Is it because control over how the mods works is lost? And if so, should I have said "no" when MO asked if I wanted to merge mods that had the same name (usually compatibility patches that went with a mod)?

Thanks again for the huge undertaking. I can understand why you have done it - I love modding, enabling others to mod and learning about modding. I just can't wait to play!

Through another start, I pop in the dungeon so I don't have any crash.

i'll try the steam thing.

Wait, didn't you say, you weren't using any mods/utilities, just vanilla? Od did you reactivate Another Start to see if it works that way? Did you then start via SKSE?

Ah my apologies.

I tried a new game with mods, crashed after going in bed.

Tried new game without mods and crashes after the loading screen.

Edit : Looks like the issue is fixed with the cache verification, a single 726 bytes file just ruined the whole stuff ? I didn't think about that because aside from updating the guide I didn't touch the skyrim folder at all.

Well Thanks a lot.

Edit2 : Well nvm still a crash if a take my save, but the new game worked somehow.

Comes with Project Parallax Remastered IIRC. Really shouldn't need more rules than what I have listed, so that's really odd. I even double ran LOOT just to be sure.

Now that i went through the instalation again and your plugin order you gave i dont have that esp file, cause i only installed the optional file for sro and smim, and for some reason MO did not install the esp file of this mod

Has anyone run into trouble getting Windows SDK for Win 7 to install? I really need it because I want to compile a simple script (huge thanks Neo for providing clear instructions on setting up the CK!) but when I try to install it, it fails halfway through. The error message doesn't really say anything, tells me to check below to resolve the issue but it ... doesn't tell me what to resolve/what the issue is.

If no one else has I'll keep digging, I just hoped someone might have also run into this issue.

An installation of "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1" (Express or Professional) or the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable packages" (x64 or x86) might cause this; see here:

https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2717426

https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2519277

If that's your problem, you should be able to solve it the following way:

1. Uninstall the mentioned packages via "Programs and Features".

2. Now install the Windows SDK. When you come to the "Installation Options" menu, UNCHECK the "Visual C++ Compilers" and the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010" components.

3. Install the SDK 7.1 patch (unless it's already included in the latest package, I haven't done it in awhile):

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=4422

4. Reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable packages:

x64:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632

x86:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

Might work.
