Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

What does "The merge script does not appear to copy the facegen data files properly for this merge. Manually copy mod assets to the merge directory in order" mean? Should one manually merge all four RS patches and not bother with the merge tool here?  Or us the tool on some of them but not other? Or use the tool and then copy over the facegen data?

looks to me like neo made the edits regarding vivid landscapes, but maybe I'm just not understanding what you're saying about that.

He made edits to add an additional file for SDO-Skymills (and maybe also intended the changes that would occur if you reinstalled the camouflaged  update to the Tundra Ground file - I think he meant to use the new one given the other changes but am not positive).  But as a user, if you installed the old file, you need to know if you should get the new one with (with the identical name and the extra folders) and install it or not.

As I said (and you probably figured out if you read my gibberish above) I am uncertain and somewhat confused ! ::(:

The new version of VL optional is already taken into account. As for LOSTs edits, will check them after my commute home. Interestingly he has the staff name color.

Copy the textures/meshes face gen data from all 4 of the mods into the merge mod. The script is still needed.

P.S. I do have a name, not sure why but being referred as he was irking me in my main thread lol.

What and how does one do this?

  • "Copy the textures/meshes face gen data from all 4 of the mods into the merge mod. The script is still needed."

Do you mean copy the folders such as RS Children Overhaul\meshes and RS Children Overhaul\textures, etc. with the .dds and .nif files into the merged folder?

Or is there some record in TES5Edit one is to copy within that program?

Thanks.

Thats exactly what I mean. Open up explorer and manually move the texture and meshes from the contributing mods. Also make sure to copy the ESM file(as instructed in the merge instructions page). Mator is investigating why the files aren't copying automatically, so hopefully this wont be an issue in the future.

Undid the last 2 edits by LOST, it kinda looks like he was trying to edit AMB to the new internal FOMOD format but only half way. I might try and take the time to make those tonight.

if the mod assets are already in RS Children Overhaul and RS Children Patches, then why would we need to copy them? could we not just keep those mods active (minus the esp's that ended up in the one merged esp)? Sorry if that's a stupid question.

You could technically, but the merge script is supposed to do it for you as there are cases where facegendata needs to be renamed. In this particular case, a simple copy is sufficient. Basically, you should get in the habit of the new way. :)

Neo, there are 2 main files for aMidianBorn Solstheim Landscape. which one should we get? I'm thinking 2k would be your answer, but I get all uncomfortable and squeaky when you don't tell me exactly what to do and I have to figure something out for myself.... :P

Neo, have you look at DynDOLOD/TES5LODGen yet? Any plans to incorporate it into SRLE? Kelmych and me are messing with it for STEP and would like to here any thoughts on it.

I haven't had time to look to be honest. I see great things though. On a related note, I sorted out some object LODs with Hein84 recently so now Vivid Landscapes / SDO / Skymills are merged via a patch on the VL page which merges all the current LOD mods in SR:LE. :D
