Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

He means any and all files that begin redoran0 and end in .dds, so * means anything that is between that start and end is to be counted.

I wanted to come back to this for a sec because i keep thinking i installed some of these wrong .

Some of those textures have exactly the same name  but end on n.dds.

Made up example :

Purplehorse.dds

Purplehorse_n.dds

Do i have to remove the latter one as well or do those stay ?

Ihave installed mods plenty of times but never went as deep as to selectively choose which textures to install yet ::):

No do not remove. They go together, the file with the _n.dds contains the normal maps for the textures.

If it said:

Install only Purplehorse*.dds then you install both Purplehorse.dds and Purplehorse_n.dds. if it said remove you remove both.

For that matter if there was a Purplehorse_p.dds, or Purplehorse_g.dds, or PurpleHorseXYZ.dds, etc they would also be part of it.

* is a standard windows wildcard surprised many people have problems with it.

Ok, my Java has just updated to Version 8.31 and now SUM won't work saying the "javaw.exe" executable can't be found. This is despite installing it and making sure it did so correctly.

Edit: Disregard that, I fail at following instructions. Forgot to set SUM as executable.

Alright now I am confused about the * question. Neo your very smart with computers and you might assume we all are computer literate but we aren't. I for example build houses. Skyrim revisited was alot easier to follow when making patches and so on but you also had more directions. But we also understand you probly dont have time to do all that typing. Thank you once again for all the work you put into this and answering our questions

* stands for a substitution of anything that can go between the two surrounding characters.  So c*t can stand for "cat", "coot", "c098dfgdkasfapoier0789t", etc...  So "terrain*.dds" stands for all files that begin with "terrain" and have a ".dds" extension, versus "terrain*_n.dds", which would only stand for all "terrain" files of the "_n.dds" variety, ie "terrain1_n.dds", "terrain2_n.dds", etc... and NOT "terrain1_p.dds", etc...
