Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

@ grhuff:

It is needed, since when you unpack the bsa, there is a folder called "CharGen". If you don't use the *.esp you'll not load the files in this folder, since it's not a vanilla asset folder.

Thanks, Torminater. I see what you mean. There is a .esp sub-folder under the meshes folder. Always glad to learn something new.

Neo will you include No snow under the roof eventually? prometheus says that it's compatible with bds as long as his mod is loaded after bds. Also, I would suggest adding Better Falskaar and Wyrmstooth Map With Roads and Falskaar World Map Clouds.

I think maybe No Snow needs to mature a bit but shows great promise. (Since I use ETaC I am not looking forward to patching that, maybe some kind soul will make one.)I think the Falskaar map ones look good, thanks for reminding me to go out and grab them.

Hey Neo, I was just wondering what frame rate you are getting with SR:LE. I am testing a pure install of the guide so nothing else added. I am currently getting 30 - 40 indoors and 20 - 30 outdoors which gets to its lowest near water, seems low.Vividian seems a tad too bright at night and indoors but some of this may change with ELE coming in.Anyway just curious to know what fps I should be expecting before looking into it too deeply. ::):

Using the high quality optional (higher settings than default Vividian) I'm getting 40+ indoors and 23-45 outdoors depending on how much is loaded at the time. I'm using uGridsToLoad=9 ... I honestly haven't tested with lower uGrids but I can and let you know the results. The only ways I've found at uGrids 9 to increase minimum frame rate are to remove better dynamic snow and/or skyrim distance overhaul and even then it's only 5-7 or so fps.

I haven't had time to test the map snow and clouds out in game, but the author states that the roads are not very high quality as of yet so wanted to see if some improvement came later. As for the no snow... waiting for more progress... the snow seems to have too rough edges.

Re.  Falskaar World Map Clouds :

The ESP in here only looks like it makes two changes which can (and should be carried over into your Conflict Resolution patch.  Since this does not create a dependency it looks like you can then deactivate the Clouds ESP.

However, I remembered I hate having clouds obscure the one place on the map I am trying to look at so will probably not use this mod, though the roads one seem good and I will keep it.

I'm crashing fairly often on fast travel. I didn't notice it at first because ... well ... I rarely fast-travel, lol. But once I did and crashed, I tried it and it happens to me a lot of times.

I deviated from this install on the game in question only in that I did NOT install OBIS, Skyrim Immersive Creatures or Distance Overhaul (fpswhoah), added two houses, and I use a few different textures from you (including isoku's Moon Glow which has an ESP, but ... still just a texture).

I use the memory patch and the utility that lets you track memory usage, and it's not exceeding my allotted memory so I'm a bit puzzled as to whether maybe this is a vanilla Skyrim issue. Please, please don't take this as criticism of your awesome guide. I know Skyrim is a finicky beast. :)

Just in case anyone else was having this problem, I went over all my settings and I had disabled allowing Frostfall to manage fast travel. Turning that option back ON, I have been unable to reproduce crashes on fast travel.
