go2kant
Thanks Statmonster. Have not been tracking as regularly as I thought. Â So many mods so little time. Link to comment
Neovalen
Neo, once again: could you paste your enb config on gist.github.com (or other similar place) for reference? I am trying to use UC, but it goes nuts the second Alduin shouts fire for first time. I can disable everything if I need to, I just want those outdoor shadows and sepia tint. I'll figure something out and shoot you a PM tonight. :) Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk Link to comment
nico53laval
So if Neo finds Skyrim Redone too extensive or if it causes too many conflicts (even though it's a great mod and the only one AFAIK to provide Frostfall skills)' date=' I think that would be a nice combination[/quote']Perhaps someone with enough talent (not me) could make a pack for SR:LE containing Skyre' date=' and balancing the game. I currently play with a modified SR:LE and VEGA:Core, however some enemies are just redicululy weak compared to others, I think it needs compatibility patches for at least OBIS, and maybe SIC.[/quote']Is SR along with VEGA : Core stable? Link to comment
hellanios
Will you increase the ugrids in the guide? Link to comment
Neovalen
Will you increase the ugrids in the guide? Likely yes, I need to do more testing for side effects though. I probably still would not recommend more than 9... Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk Link to comment
apenney
I just want to take a moment to thank you for this guide. This is the first time I've ever felt like I understood anything I was doing. Before I was just mashing buttons, the insanely detailed nature of it has forced me to really pay attention and get to grips with tes5edit rather than avoiding it like my life depended on it. On the weekend I'm going to sadly have to start over from my clean profile as I have two issues: 1) The big letter at the start of books seems to have become corrupted an is now just "IMG:". 2) I seem to have a ton more crashes, especially around loading, since I updated from Jan 1st until now. I ran through the entire guide updating everything and double checking but I obviously broke something as I went. I half suspect it's something to do with the memory patch or an updated ENB. I get no logs anywhere that I can find (event viewer, MO, skyrim dirs) so I have no idea how to track it down. Still, it's been an absolute pleasure to follow the guide through, even if my first experience was choosing a random start and dying to hypothermia in a ship wreck within three minutes. :) Link to comment

First problem you have is likely due to doing the vanilla optimization and skipping a filtering step. There are PNG files that get converted to dds by DDSOpt unless they are filtered. Second problem is obviously more nebulous but hopefully you have more luck with your next attempt... sadly its probably something small. :) Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk Link to comment
peppergomez
Thanks. A few more questions: 1) Also, the advice for configuring NVIDIA cards on this page https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:NVIDIA_Inspector#tab=Creating_a_Skyrim_Profile is nearly usesless, since the options in the GUI are now considerably different from those in the screenshots on that page. I just went with the default options because I couldn't match up many of the settings in the screenshots with those now available in the NVIDIA Inspector. 2) In Mod Organizer, there is a Warning icon in the top right stating that there are potential problems with my setup. I have the following mods listed under my Skyrim Revisted profile: Skyrim Script ExtenderDawnguard DDS optimizedDragonborn DDS optimizedHearthfire DDS OptimizedHi Res Texture Pack One DDS OptimizedHi Res Texture Pack Three DDS OptimizedHi Res Texture Pack Two DDS OptimizedVanilla DDS Optimized In the Overwrite folder I see the following ESMs: Update, Hearthfires, Dragonborn, and Dawnguard. I also see TES5Edit Backups folder Under Data I see Overwrite in red besire Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Update ESMs, and under Archives I see red exclamation warnings to the left of Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfires BSAs. "This archive will still be loaded because there is a plugin of the same name but its files will not follow installation order!" Screenshots attached to my post. The fifth one show shows the various red text information in the Data tab of Mod Organizer...what does this indicate, and how can I fix it? 3) Nevermind, answered this one 4) Just downloaded Anicent Nord Armor Fix 1st person and there is the warning exclamation icon indicating potential prblems with the setup. I chose Query Info but that didn['t retreive any information. Not sure if I should proceed with the install or not. 5) Based on this advice: Notice:You can remove the Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp as the sole purpose of the ESP was to extract the BSA file. Should/can I delete the Unofficial High Resolution Patch from the mod list under the Skyrim Revisited profile in the left pane? Ditto for the Brawl Bugs Patch? ("You can remove the Brawl Bugs CE.esp as the sole purpose of the ESP was to extract the BSA file.") 6) Can I apply the skyrim.ini tweaks that are suggested in the current STEP install? https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.7 "Most of the following tweaks are recommended updates to existing INI entries. New entries will be explicitly indicated. " 7) I don't see advice in the Skyrim Revistited instructions for testing the game along the way when doing the install. Seems like an awful lot of mods to install before running the game. I'd like to run the game after every 5 installs or so, to check for smoothness. What is the best way to do so? Install the mods via Mod Organizer, make sure there are no conflicts...then what? I am guessing I will need to use Wrye Bash and/or BOSS, but I am not sure what I need to do with them. 8) For SKSE ELys AltF4 I see the warning in Mod Organizer: No game data on top level. What do I need to do to resolve this?Ditto the Skyrim Particle Patchj for ENB All In One. To take the weight off of Neo's shoulders, since he is so busy, could some of the more experienced users here take a shot at answering these questions? Tehy are pretty basic questions about the fundamental/intro stages of the install process. Thanks! Link to comment
SSL
2) Just tick them (.bsa files) 4) Don't bother your mind with those, install this mod, it is fine. 5) This is well explained in guide under respective entries. Don't delete anything from left, disable it on right (a broom icon) 6) Sure, go ahead, they are well tested 8) Make sure you see "SKSE" directory on top of the files list when you install this mod. Again, this is in guide. Link to comment

Check my post about CTDs I got because of a bad edit, on my part :Â https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=4661Might not solve anything but, in doubt I'd recommend trying to launch the game with only the original ESMs un-edited, just to see if there still is a problem.Again it might not be relevant at all, it's just that I just had a huge problem on my clean install because of those files and those only. 7. I used the categories to check if everything ran correctly. At every new big category I'd run BOSS then SKSE Skyrim, and it worked and still work just fine. Link to comment
nico53laval
I get a lot of crashes I did not experience with earlier versions of the guide too. I think Autosave Manager should be implemented to alleviate the frustration caused by those crashes. Link to comment
apenney
Just a small tip for anyone that runs into an unexpected issue with BOSS. They are moving to v3 right now and as a result have locked the v2 list updates. I was confused why mine would never download a more up to date list and I found out they are on 3.0.0b7 and getting ready to release as best I can tell to replace 2. I gave it a whirl and let it sort my list and it seems like it did an OK job compared to v2. Nothing was on fire when I started a new game, at least. Link to comment
nico53laval
To clarify : I don't get frequent CTDs but the game freezes relatively often, when opening my inventory, my skills, when starting to craft, when fast-travelling etc. Link to comment
DanielCoffey
The illustrated letters in the books are part of the default install and were not edited by the Book Covers mod. You should check that you have not mis-optimised them in DDSopt. Link to comment

Remove that mod and see if that helps. FYI, it corrupted my save beyond repair, I could not use it, even after I've removed SL. I cannot confirm 100%, but I have good reasons to believe that this was the case, therefore I would recommend coming back to an earlier save. Replace SL with the new Memory Patch 3.0. Link to comment
