Question

Hi everyone,

Looking for some help. Could not find this topic...

I'm nearing the end of STEP 2.2.9.2 (currently at 2.N. Patches). LOOT has been giving me the following message from the beginning regarding the dance of death.esp 1.8 :

"Dawnguard detected. Use The Dance of Death - Dawnguard Edition.esp instead."

Should I do that ?

If so, how do I do that ?

Thanks for your help !

1.8 came with the original install which I did fresh a few days ago and I guess it remained there because there are no instructions to remove in STEP nor anything about the Dance of Death.

Thanks a bunch !

Thanks Nebulous112,

In other words, if I wanted to use the Dawnguard one, which LOOT tells me is there, I can simply remove the 1.8 esp version ?

...and if I wanted to use the Violens one, would that create an issue with the already present Dawnguard one or STEP 2.2.9.2 ?

In your answer, is the one at the Dance of Death page link the same as Dawnguard ?

Thanks

You are using v1.8 of The Dance of Death? How long ago did you get this mod? Must have been in 2012. On the Dance of Death page, the latest is v4.0 and was released in Feb 2013.

Actually, looking at the page there is an "Ultimate Edition" that has support for Dawnguard and Dragonborn so you probably want that one. If you look at the files tab you can see the different versions.

If you want VioLens, then install that instead (which I would recommend).

And yeah, you can only use one Killmove mod as they conflict. So it is either Dance of Death (you probably want the Ultimate version) or VioLens.

The original install...you mean the original install of Skyrim? You must be subscribed to some Steam mods. That may wreak havoc on your Skyrim install.

STEP assumes a fresh install of Skyrim without any Steam workshop mods.

I would suggest following this procedure to ensure your Skyrim is clean. You will have to follow the Skyrim Launcher step again afterword, as well as the SKSE and ENBoost steps, but your MO mods will be untouched. Do not delete Mod Organizer.
