No it is not.

Quote from Tannin referring to Skyrim.  "ini tweaks do not change skyrim.ini or skyrimprefs.ini, they are used instead of them. This means that if a setting exists in ini tweaks, that setting is used over any other ini. In fact, as it stands right now, ini tweaks should even overwrite settings from other ini files, i.e. skse plugins, but I've never tested that.".

The basic functionality has not changed to my knowledge in MO2A4.

More info can be found in the wiki under section 6 Left Pane under subsection 6.3 Filters & Grouping. Scroll down to the next section, Mod Information.

The initweaks.ini in the profile folder is not meant to be edited by the user as it gets recompiled at game launch.

Or you can ignore Fallout4custom.ini and just use Fallout4.ini. It is only because Fallout4custom.ini was automatically created that it became popular, even though it exists in the previous games.

I was wondering if MO would See fallout4custom.ini or not. From here on out I will put Fallout4custom.ini lines in Fallout4.ini.. can I make an ini config files and put them in the mod folder for that perticular mod so that if they are  special inis for that mod it activates or deactivates the inis for that mod when I check or uncheck said mod in MO

I have an edited Fallout4custom.ini and the game uses it. I don't know if MO somehow knows about it or not and if it uses it at all. Only Tannin would know for sure.

I keep my tweaks in a mod of its own so I know where they are, but that is what the initweaks was designed for, to allow different settings for different mods.

I didn't know about fallout4custom.ini when i wrote the ini functionality in mo and didn't get around to updating it. The goal is for mo to "bake" an ini file that contains the content of the relevant ini files and tweaks, redirect all accesses to that file and once application completes, transfer changes that happened in that file back to the appropriate ini

lol. I know I'm dumb about computers, but I seen Tannin answered my thread and my first thought was YES. Well, now I'm even more lost. I cant think of a good example, but I thought I seen a map or pip boy mod that had different ini's than most of the other mods. So I will just create a config file for that type of mod, and put it in the mods folder in MO. Sometimes I joke to myself, I know almost just enough to be dangerous as I second guess myself.

Hehe. Well, this is another aspect: if you have an ini file that has the same name as an esp, that ini is automatically loaded by the game and "overrides" the other inis. MO doesn't touch those at all. However, to my knowledge not all settings can be made in those inis
