I haven't tested RCRN 3.0 in awhile, but the brightness was an issue when it was first released. I thought they were working on resolving that, but it sounds like it's still a problem.

I also thought Stakado's Realistic config looked the best from all in comparison.

 

I don't know how it has changed since the new ENB releases, though.

I had been using Stakado Realistic for awhile now and it looks wonderful, only issue I ever had is the light in the early morning literally washes everything out... need to turn down the sun intensity somehow.

I believe you can use the ENB Configuration tool to tweak early morning light intensity, dont quote me on that though ;)

I ended up trying out the new preview of Skyrim Enhanced Shaders... now that it doesn't tank my FPS I actually like it alot.

with SSAO in ENB do you still need it forced in drivers? or does it automatically turn it on? or it uses it's own SSAO independent of the drivers?

 

Edit: nevermind, has to be enabled in drivers first. the ENB SSAO seems to enhance it further

I appreciate the kind words! Also, I feel obligated to let future visitors know that the gallery has been removed due to how outdated the visual comparisons are when contrasted to modern ENB configurations.
