Alluistras Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Slightly off-topic question: nVidia or AMD? I know there's no easy answer here, just want opinions as I decide which vcard to upgrade to. I've got an AMD 7800 2gb that's just barely cutting it for me.

Nozzer66 Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 You could do worse than see if you could hunt up a GTX780Ti. Cause they're previous series they might be going cheap, and a quick look at Whetstone's link shows you wouldn't be disappointed performance wise either.
hishutup Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 How much you looking to spend?I'm currently debating about parting with my 970 strix and getting a 980ti, I may be able to offer a good price but it'll have to be through some sort of third party

Alluistras Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 Thanks for moving the posts. :) So it's a year old. Much thought. How long do GPU's usually last? I've had mine for about 3 years so far. I guess that's pretty good. How much do you want for it?
George79 Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 I'm also waiting to see how the new Pascal GPUs do. Apparently the first batch 1070 and 1080 will have GDDR5 Vram with 8GB for the 1080. The HBM VRAM will be available on the second batch and will feature 16GB-32GB of VRAM. That's when I'll probably replace my GPU. No idea how much it's gonna cost though...

As for life, I wouldnt know, usually fans go out long before anything else but since these cards are "0db" (I hate that name), the fans shut off when the card is below 65C which is a majority of the time.
