SMC with SRLE Extended: LotD
MattsDaZombieSlayer replied to jdsmith2816's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Oh ok so, to get this straight, you downloaded most of the mods, including the ones you already had in the guide, and put the archives into a folder. Then, you specified where the archives were in SMC, and then combined them. So, with your method, you have to re-download the mods on the guide (if they are on the guide) and add them to SMC. You don't use the versions that are from the guide in the /Mod Organizer/mods folder. Completely new stuff. -

Yeah I was looking at that. So you used SMC to combine the textures you already had in the guide, but you didn't add any. Now I get it. I thought I needed to install ALL of the mods in the SMC supported list, which is not what I'm supposed to do. Thanks. Edit: NVM, I read the post AGAIN and you suggested to install the "whole SMC pack". I assume you mean all of the mods supported by the pack? -

K thanks so much for the advice. When you guys talked about SMC, I thought you were talking about the Skyim Texture Pack Combiner. But, I looked it up and this mod looks crazy good, and supported too. I'm just concerned about how much stuff I'll need to be worrying about when installing this mod, as some of the texture mods are already used in the guide and require conflict resolution/merging/patches. I assume it's worth the trouble, though... -

Do I also need to remove ELFX? Or just the Vivid mods? -

I'm not sure I got the message straight. So, in your original message you said to keep all of the weather and lighting mods from SR:LE Extended, and add in NVLA with either NVLA ENB, Ruby ENB, or Tetrachromatic ENB, right? Or do I need to get rid of ELFX and install NVLA instead? One more thing, should I uncheck "Gender Specific Animations" in FNIS because we aren't using the idle mod anymore? -

Thanks for taking a look at it, but the sad part about the mod is that it doesn't animate cloaks :( Would you be willing to put the HDT Cloaks of Skyrim into this guide? Don't see how it would drastically affect performance. -

Hey can someone tell me why Realistic Animation Project - Movement hasn't been incorporated into the guide yet? The animations look amazing and I'm having trouble finding a reason not to put this mod into the guide. I'll try and install it to see how everything looks. I'll probably uninstall 360 RunAndJump as well, because that mod is incorporated into Realistic Animation Project - Movement. -

Wow. Your Skyrim looks beautiful! Do you get good FPS though? I'm actually still stuttering a bunch, and I'm using the Extended Guide, with Darth's specs (except for 32GB RAM. I have 16GB). Also, how did you manage to find ENBs that support ELFX+Vivid Weathers+ELE Lite+Relighting Skyrim for ELFX? There are a lot of mods to keep in mind when trying to install an ENB that deviates from the guide. I tried to install Tetrachromatic ENB, so I removed all patches and mentions of ELFX in the CR, but my skyrim actually looked worse off. Can you list some ENBs that you found to work well with ELFX+Vivid Weathers+ELE Lite+Relighting Skyrim for ELFX? -

Thanks so much for the advice. By the way, where would be a good place/quest to start with to level up? Everyone is a bullet sponge in this game so it's pretty difficult to get anything done. -

K so with Vigor I got 1.00 instead of 0.99. Is that okay? -

So I just finished the guide and opened up the game. It looks beautiful and runs quite well on my 980ti. I think this issue is with the guide, as I followed it to the point, only installing the nord texture banner replacer instead of insanity sorrow's. So, the first time I came across a wolf, and took a swing at it, everything became slow motion, except for the wolf and the npc fighting it as well. So, I was stuck doing an insanely slow motion hit, and the wolf obviously hit me twice and I died... man, is that weird. Two hits from a wolf kills you??? This mod guide is hardcore. Anyways, please tell me how I can fix the issue. Also, another note, I was using the Eastern Iron Sword weapon if that helps with anything. -

Hey so I was running the Ordinator Merge Patch and an error called "Not Enough Memory to Run Application" popped up while compiling scripts. But, after I pressed "okay" a few times, Merge Plugins stated that the patch was successful. Is this alright? Edit: Wouldn'tcha know? I rebuilt the patch while firefox was closed and guess what??? No errors :) -

How does one actually "trim down" a skyrim mod organizer install, if I may ask? -

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71294 Word of advice: DO THE TEXTURE OPTIMIZATION ON A HARD DRIVE THAT HAS AMPLE SPACE!!! -
SRLE Extended: Legacy of The Dragonborn
MattsDaZombieSlayer replied to Darth_mathias's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
So I just used the tool on my mods and... Well... I- uh, ran into some issues. The optimization stopped and gave me an error at one point, and it couldn't keep optimizing textures, so I terminated it. I noticed that the backup textures were held in the temp folder, but... Well, let's just say that I didn't know that folder would be deleted when I ran the optimizer again. So, I lost almost half of my original textures. I tried again, with the rest of my mods, and the issue came up again, but that is when I knew what was causing those errors. I ran out of space on my hard drive. What was worse is that some of the textures didn't optimize correctly because of the limited space, and came out as textures that were less that 1KB, and unreadable in a dds file viewer. Thankfully, after a few hours of searching, I found the corrupt textures... But man, was that a huge pain! I hope it was worth it, though, because almost half of my textures don't have backups anymore... -

Just found out that Player Random Idles seems to break a lot of people's games when using the tcl command. Just letting some people know in case they like to cheat in the game -

Thanks for the suggestion! BTW: How does one optimize ALL of their textures with ddsopt? Don't you have to optimize the .dds files first and then the _n.dds files? It must take a ton of time for you to do that... -

Maybe I could disable the rod in the MCM. It may have that feature. Also, do you think it would be wise to use the mod you suggested to me? It looks interesting but I don't want two of the same looking weapons scattered throughout the world... Maybe I could disable the "copy" weapons in the CCOR MCM as well. I'll see. -

I already know about this mod. The sad thing is, the mod replaces the meshed of immersive weapons with JS Swords, which we already have installed from the SRLE guide. The buggy thing is the dwemer rod, or whatever it's called. I remember reading in a post that the rod can freeze or crash your game. What's worse is that it's distributed into the leveled lists, so you could crash your game randomly just by having another NPC use it. -

Sorry about making a ton of posts, but can you consider removing Immersive Weapons as well? I kind of rolled my eyes when I saw that it was mandatory for the conflict resolution. I heard the weapons were mostly buggy, ugly, and unimmersive, which is completely against the mod's main goal. Also, I think you guys already have a lot of great weapon mods already integrated into the guide. I wouldn't want to be bombarded with weapons to choose from, as IW includes more than 200 of them. It's definitely a quantity over quality mod that I can surely and gladly live without. If not, then I'll probably change the patch to delete the IW conflict resolutions and remove IW as a master.
