  1. Thanks, I have tried you suggestion but it doesn't seem to make much difference at all. The follower is about 8 to 10 steps behind my character. This makes it difficult sometimes in smaller areas. I have a similar situation but not dealing with distance. I have noticed that when using Convenient Horse a follower does not draw a weapon when my character does only when a threat is near or in battle. In game the follower is supposed to mimic the character when going into sneak or drawing a weapon. I have played with the settings in Convenient Horses but have not had any results there. I was thinking in some way this issue with distance could be connected somehow with Convenient Horses? Who's to say. Do you have any other ideas? I don't mean to be a pain in the ars.
  2. Could someone offer a suggestion on how to change the distance between my character and follower? Can this be done without the use of a mod or by using console commands?
  3. Thanks to both of you. So many new features I need to learn how to use. I am learning how powerful Mod Organizer is. And how helpful everyone on STEP is. After the blunder of NMM, MOD ORGANIZER and you (the people on STEP) have given me my game back. My thanks goes out to Nexus Mod Manager for wrecking my game because without that I would not have found MOD MANAGER and the helpful people behind it. My hat goes off to you all.
  4. How do I find Mod Configuration Menu? This is what the problem is I can not access the in game configuration menu because it does not show up in the character's powers.
  5. Since I started using MO I am not getting Convenient Horse to show up in the Powers section of my character's magic. When I mount a horse the dialog runs at the top of the screen show it is doing it's set up but nothing comes up in powers for Convenient horses. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  6. Great.
  7. Can you explain this? When I start game in the load screen at the top left corner in red letters this come up. ( Patch speed hack Enboost on in enblocal ini graphics modification disabled).
  8. Great thanks. I will check it out NOW. I have to get back to Helgon. They need me to solve the worlds problems. What a joke ME??
  9. Totally missed the yield flag. I ceases to amaze me how something so seemingly insignificant can screw things up so easily. Yes one mod Unlimited Bookshelves. I un-ticked Unofficial Skyrim Patch and Unlimited Bookshelves and ALL SEEMS FINE for now. All of the other mods look to be fine. Thanks Nebulous. Now the question is the workaround? Unlimited Bookshelves is a great mod I would hate to loose it. So Greg can you direct me in the right direction to learn how to use USLEEP I have never used it. I guess I should just start poking around and find it myself. All in all Thanks for the input. It is appreciated both of you.
  10. I thought I had just finished the final set up with STEP and MO. I added a selection of mods for armor, abodes, body mods and some odds and ends. When I started the game this is the warning I got. (The old Unofficial Skyrim Patch is installed Please remove this as it will damage your game). When I un-tick Unofficial Skyrim Patch I get this warning from MO (Missing Master: the master for some plugins (.esp/.esm) are not enabled. The game will crash unless you install and enable the following plugins: Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Patch.esp). No matter witch I have installed I can not run the game. I know it has probably been answered before many times but I sure can't fine the resolution to this.
  11. I do realize the difficulty in trying to keep everything up to date and the idea one should take allowances for such things. I am just trying to rectify the mistakes I had made with my first setup of MO. This I think was the first mistake I made with that one. With you and others help I have overcome several obstacles. About my last question. What is you comment or suggestion for the last two questions. Again thank you Nebulous.
  12. In watching the video tutorial several times I came a little confused myself. There is an overlay on the video that states that it was revised but In my mind it only made things a little unclear. In reading the STEP instructions it sounded more correct to me. Lets start with the Update.esm. as it states in the video. Copy the esm from the data folder. past it on the desktop. Now run TES5Edit. In overwrite two items are there. One the newly cleaned esm and a folder labeled TES5Edit. Now drag and drop the Newly cleaned .esm into a newly created mod named (UPDATE - CLEANED). tick it and place at the top of load order. Return the copied .esm from the desktop to the data folder. Now take the remaining folder (TES5Edit) from overwrite and place it in the earlier created mod named (TES5Edit - BACKUP) do not tick it. Do all other mods the .esm and mods that are to be cleaned in the same manner. Taking the next .esm Dawnguard and follow the same steps and when you come to the step where you are to place the Dawnguard Backup from the overwrite and place it into the TES5Edit - Backup mod... This is when I get the message asking if I want to replace the existing one. The video does not mention anything about deleting the TES5Edit Backups folder from the overwrite. Again it tells you to place it in the TES5Edit BACKUP mod. It does not tell you to delete it. After reading the instructions and reading what you have said matches what I thought should happen. But that brings up another question. Is it necessary and what is the purpose of the TES5Eit - Backup mod? it even states in the icon with the white X in a red box (no valid game data). The next question I have is what do you do with the second .esm that is created after cleaning the Dawnguard.esm the second time? Is it to be placed in the first (Dawnguard.esm - CLEAN) mod or should a second mod be created to accommodate the second Cleaned .esm? Sorry for the confusion but the video and the instructions just didn't seem to jive to me. Thanks
  13. After cleaning the Dawnguard.esm and it shows up in the Overwrite folder and I try to move the Dawnguard TES5Edit into the TES5Edit - Backup mod it asks if I want to merge it with the existing file that was placed in there after cleaning the Update.esm. Do I re-name the Dawnguard file to read TES5Edit Backup (Dawnguard)? And do the same after I clean the Dawnguard.esm the second time and for the rest of the .esm files that are created after cleaning them?
  14. Thanks to both of you. I should have known that.
  15. Thanks. I did find the file. I was looking in the wrong file (initweaks.ini). The one I need as you describe is in the Skyrim.ini. All that looking and yes they are there. Now the question as I asked in the previous topic is, should I be making these changes in the STEP CORE profile or the DEFAULT profile?
  16. Thanks!
  17. I miss spoke when I said I had the mods installed. What I meant to say Is I have had to re-download the mods. I have them in a backup folder ready to be placed in the MO download file when the time comes. Yes I am trying to keep to the plan and follow the guide. But thanks for looking out for me. As far as the changing of the INI files I thought what I was supposed to do was make the changes in the Configurator drop down. So what I am actually supposed to do is make those entries in the actual folders as you describe. If that is the case at this moment there are two profiles within the profile folder 1. Default and 2. Step Core. Am I right that the changes described in the STEP GUIDE should be made in the Step Core profile? Within the STEP CORE there is 1. archive.txt 2. initweaks.ini 3. loadorder.txt 4. lockedorder.txt 5. modlist.txt 6. plugins.txt 7. skyrim.ini and 8. skyrimprefs.ini. I should add these two entries into the initweaks.ini correct? By the way Thanks for the tip on opening the files. I had learned that a wile back.
  18. As I stated in an earlier thread this is my second go-round on MO. First time trying to follow the STEP GUIDE. I am running Windows 7 with a 64 bit OS. After my failure with my first attempt to run MO that I was not following STEP in I decided to try it this way. I have completely deleted and uninstalled everything pertaining to Steam and the game from my computer and now off to a new start. Installed Steam I hope now in the right place in the games folder on C drive which is my only option other than purchasing a new computer (NOT!). Installed Mod Organizer, SKSE, FNIS, LOOT, TES5Edit and all of my mods and I mean all. Side note (Getting Good At This). I have gotten down to 1.D.1. Skyrim INI. I have gone to (Configurator tool) down to (Archive). I have entered into sResourceArchiveList the information from the guide. At this point I am supposed to enter more information into sResourceArchiveKist2 but it does not exist. I am told in the instructions that I am able to simply add another line in the section if sResourceArchive2 does not appear there but I am unable to figure out how to create a second line. I know it probably sounds stupid but I must be missing something or making a bigger deal out of it than needs be.
  19. This is my second go-round with MO and I have made the decision to try following the STEP Guide. I am running on Windows 7 - 64-bit OS. I have started with a fresh install of STEAM and have deleted all old saves from the game. Also I have deleted MO from my computer and all of the mods. I completely have started from scratch. New downloads of MO and all and I mean all of my mods. Off to a poor start. Stuck already at 1.C. Installing Utilities. I intend on using Mod Organizer, Loot and TES5Edit. Is it imperative to use DDSopt? Reading the description of DDSopt on Nexus it states that it requires VISTA (and up).
  20. Well I trust your opinion. I think the best thing is to eliminate all of my characters and start a new. Shortly after starting with MO I completely trashed NMM so I don't have that in my way now. I did look at the link you suggested and it does make sense. Thanks for the insight. STEP IT IS.
  21. What about all of the saves I have in game? Could those be effected because of all the mishmash that I have done so far? with over four thousand hours in Skyrim I hate thinking of starting all over but if it gives me a stable game I will do so. I have had to start all over be fore Thanks to NMM.
  22. Now frustration is setting in. I Completely eliminated Convenient Horses from my computer as I said I was going to. I then went in game and now all of my profiles are having the same problem. Giving some thought to the situation I got thinking perhaps the problem in with SkyUI. So I un-installed SkyUI from one of the profiles and I thought I had the problem solved. Everything in Convenient Horses seemed to be working as it is supposed to. NOT!! After making all of the settings I went to make a save game and what do think happened? CTD! I think at this point what I need to do is trash everything MO, SKSE, FNIS and Everything Else.. START FROM THE BEGINNING. It seems to me that I had to have made some stupid mistake or mistakes along the way. Now that I have a better understanding of the workings of Mod Organizer perhaps the second time around will produce better results. DOes anyone out there concur with my idea????
  23. Answer to Greg, My original thinking was exactly what you are suggesting about running separate instances of Mod Organizer instead of using profiles for the same reasons you mention and I had tried doing so but I ran into problems and couldn't seem to get it working. I was fumbling over the issue of setting up SKSE. When I started the new MO it automatically recognized the original SKSE setup for the first MO. As I was saying I was fumbling over how to get it set up. I had some of the same issues with that set up that I am having with this one so I scraped the idea until I could get a better understanding of MO. I had separate mod files separate download files with the second set up also. I don't think with the size of my game at this point I have too much of an issue with disk space. I do not mind the redundancies nor the effort if I could get it to work. I do think using individual instances of Mod Organizer suits me better than profile but I think at this time I had better stay with this approach until I lean to operate the basics first. Do you not agree? With Convenient Horses in mind I have done exactly as you have written. I started a new game and that is how I discovered this problem with Convenient Horses. I have six profiles at this time. In five of those Convenient Horses works as it should. It is in the new profile for the new game where Convenient Horses fails. What I am going to do at this point is completely delete Convenient Horses from my computer and re-download it and see if that makes a difference. In answer to Nebulous112. I am sorry I should have been more specific when I spoke of Character's Inventory. When I open the character's Magic and select Powers. In Powers is where you select the controls and settings for Convenient Horses. They are not there in this profile. The first time you mount a horse Convenient horses runs a dialog in the upper right hand corner of the screen and it will take a few minutes as it loads everything in the game. This occurs as I should in this profile. It is when I go to powers I find Convenient Horses is not there.
  24. The situation with Convenient Horses, I think from my experience has and according to what I have been reading and the answers I have been getting, is rather strange. Convenient horses is and has been working in five of the six profiles. For some reason it refuses to work in the sixth profile. No indication that it is there. What I did was un-tick the mod uninstalled it. Went into game and made a new save. Reinstalled it in MO, tick the mod ran Sort and arranged load order. Just for ***** and giggles ran FNIS, create AND TICK the FNIS OUTPUT mod and place it in order below FNIS. After the third try at the top of the screen in game it shows that Convenient Horses is running through it's thing meaning it is installed. I go through the entire list within characters inventory and can not find Convenient Horses anywhere. By the way I am running SkyUI if that makes any difference. I then make a save and exit game and go back in game thinking that might trigger something BUT Convenient horses still does not show up in the character's inventory. Also I have learned a long time ago not to make changes concerning mods when in the middle of a quest. I also always try to make a new save before and after installing or uninstalling a mod. I have another situation that could be similar but I refrain from bringing it up at this point in fear of complicating the thread. I will wait until I have this one solved first. Again According to what I have read I have done everything correctly.
  25. So, Nebulous112 turns out you were on the right track. As far as the results of installing Memory Blocks Log, time will tell I guess. Thank You Again. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
