  1. Feel free to take anything from my guide above yours and if you need any help just ask :)
  2. My Modern Morrowind Build Guide My guide is hosted over at deadlystream.com which is a star wars modding website specifically for the two classic games Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2 (KOTOR) and what I believe to be the best extra content mod ever created for any game because there were no modding tools or creation kit back then. They had to create their own. Almost 10 years in the making! These guys devoted a large portion of their lives into completing a game that was released unfinished. "The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod" TSLRCM and the add-on mod M4-78 Enhancement Project Of course my Morrowind guide is incomplete as I have not played the game in a couple of years. I wrote it for a girlfriend who helped me with my Fallout 3 and V installations and who wanted to try modding Morrowind. I do have a list of new mods that would fit well but they are untested. Everything in my guide has been tested. My game worked flawlessly. You can see what the game will look like by the number of pics that were linked and uploaded. I even include an advanced section for those of you want sweet FX to work with mgeXE. Of course any recommendations and or corrections are welcome. I do plan on reinstalling the game soon and yes I will be following my guide XDDD
  3. What a roller coaster of a thread to read on a Sunday morning after walking the dogs I have a lot of experience with codecs as I helped solve the diaspering radio sounds in the Fallout 3 game. But that was like 3 years ago at the official forums. This seems way different because the ice spells works fine but the fire and lightning spells are silent. Here's what I got from the thread: It is either 1 of 3 thrings or a combination of them; AOS archive issue, MO issue or a system issue. The solution in the thread seemed to be, "manually install the mod" Here is my question for you Grant; If I remove AOS and the patches will that corrupt my game? Specifically, will the STEP extended mod and installation work without AOS? Here is my thinking; if a manual install fixes this then that is an easy solution to try. I have to wonder if Wrye Bash users have experienced this... I will go check that forum section for anything audio related... Hey Grant, what do you think about this; what if I try installing the mod and patches through Wrye Bash? That may be worth a try eh? Thanks for the help Grant
  4. Update: I have tried starting a new game and nothing. I have tried reinstalling the mod and still no sound. I started a new default profile game and the sound is working! So... It means one of two things, something is wrong with my STEP installation or the mod itself. Before I proceed with an entire new STEP instalation next week (sigh) I would like to find another easier solution or other advice advice. Any advice would be appreciated.
  5. Hi greg :) Yes I found those 2 wave files... now what.? They sound great... I wish I heard them in game. ^^ Try this pic; EDIT: Try looking at the pic by clicking this link And yes, all the BSAs are check and being managed by MO... I guess I am just trying to figure out which mod that is coming from so I can try reinstalling it... Cheers ;)
  6. Hi, I installed the extended step from a to z. I haven't added anything else. The game overall is working great and I really appreciate the set up. However, when I try and shoot the Flame spell or Spark spell I don't hear anything but the Frost spell works fine. If I shoot flame and spark at a wall I hear an effect of it burning the wall but I don't hear the flame or spark coming from my hands. Frost works perfectly but I may be having a problem with restoration heal spell as well... not sure about it, I do remember hearing the spell make a sound for as long as the spell was working but I can't be sure about that. Regardless the flame and spark spells have no sound. All the other sounds seem to be working... any ideas? Edit: I am using headphones. Oh ya I am missing a texture too
  7. Yes the about:config changes is the same as changing under FF. Sync?.. Good question. I am not sure. I would think so but I personally don't use the sync feature. I have different browser setups for my different computers and I have a portable FF edition that I use as well along with a portable TOR that I use. I always preffer to do these things manually but that is just me. I have manuall backups of all my different profile browser settings in case my browser get highjacked or some other type of emergency. You can do the same as I by following these instuctions--> Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles . This works for all FF builds, but not all of the forks. I know it works for Waterfox and I think it works for Palemoon as well but I am not sure about Opera or Cyberfox or any of the other forks out there. Cyberfox had this neat program that I tried that transferred my FF profile so I didn't bother to look into that.
  8. FF just added it recently. It is some sort of Video Chat feature which to me is a security concern. I have Face Time on my iPhone for that. Did you get a chance to see this--> What you do when Firefox uses too much memory ? This seems to be a common problems with FF and it's forks.
  9. WHOA!!!! :O_o: hehehe... you "TAB" junkies are so funny. I know a few guys who also get upset when the start their browser and it can't open their 30 TABS quickly enough! If I remember correctly they were using the code to generate income for their project and nothing more. It wasn't really malicious but they weren't really upfront about it. Here is something interesting for all Firefox users including all FF forks: How do I get rid of the new "Hello"-feature? Here is an interesting article: What you do when Firefox uses too much memory
  10. Well ya, that's the whole idea here... these bionic uteri eventually could theoretically be put into men as well. Well at least this was talked about on Ray Kurzweil's forum. If you don't know who he is then you're missing out :alien: If any one wants to explore the subject you could just type, "artificial uterus or artificial womb" into the google. If the Admin here start getting complaints about the name then they can change it to the acronym, "ktbu" and how I am known over at the Bethesda Official Forums.
  11. When did you stop using Waterfox? I ask because there was a time when Waterfox was not updated for a year (maybe a little more even) because Alex was rebuilding the browser from scratch. It was running very slow at the time and I switched to my backup browser Palemoon at that time. Although when it was updated I have to say it was flying! Then again last year it was not working that great for a few months... the thing is, it is one guy who is doing all the work whereas FF has an entire team. The problem as I understand it lies in Mozzila's monthly update schedule and also changes in the web architecture for the larger delays. Ya Cyberfox... I don't know where I got that information... it just came to me! ok kidding I first heard about it on some browsing message boards and over the next little while people started to complain about that and then they (the browser team themselves) mentioned it in their update that they removed it. I alsways make sure to read what my programs are actually updating. So they mentioned it in their release notes. Here's the problem, Cyberfox doesn't show all their release notes any more and I would have to go back and figure out which version of the browser this happen with. That would take some effort on my part that I am not sure I am willing to put in just for the sake of this conversation. What I will do for you is ask a few friends of mine and see if they remember and can provide links. Any ways, they removed the questionable data last winter or so Lets let it simmer and I promise to PM you an update Cyberfox users should also be aware of this registry corruption. I liked the way Cyberfox looks but the guys over at Palemoon are not impressed, and Waterfox has been running real smooth for me since Spring. I'm testing Disconnect now. Request Policy, (which I love btw) is being re-worked from the ground up. It is kind of obsolete these days. It is not so much the add-on but the internet has changed so the RP add-on wasn't really blocking what it said it was blocking. Unless RP has been re-released (yes, re-released under a new project name ~ see Request Policy add-on download page for more information) then in the interim I recommend using Policeman 0.18.1.1 :cop: That reminds me to check up on the RequestPolicy re-work project EDIT: A quick edit here on the new requst Policy. The project is in BETA now and you can get more information here --> RequestPolicy Continued 0.5.30pre1
  12. hmm... this doesn't make sense? Something is wrong then with your PC settings. First off your FF browser settings should be set so that everything is deleted after you close your browser. Second I would ask that you hit the start button and in the search bar punch in MSCONFIG; go to BOOT tab and hit Safe Mode; then hit the Startup tab. This will list all the programs that are running in the background and this can slow your browser down (and your entire PC) so I recommend you unclick everything except for must haves and then restart computer. Type in MSCONFIG again and unclick the start in safe mod option if everything seems ok and resrtart your PC and try surfing with 12 tabs open. Personally I have almost zero programs running in the background. EDIT: There is a bug that sometimes develops where the amount of active add-ons slows FF down. Try this -->. https://mzl.la/15sSfJR Although this is true because of security reasons I suggest turning off your PC. Pale Moon is a fantastic browser for underpowered laptops and older PC but if you have a new high powered gaming PC or audio/visual editing rig you would really benefit from using Waterfox. There are many users that prefer the old style browsers and they are the hardcore Palemoon groupies. I use Palemoon as my backup browser so I have nothing bad to say about it. If you have a 64bit system then I recommend Waterfox. I have been using it since WinXP and for most of that time it has been the best running browser around. Since it is a fork and run by one person there are times when the Mozilla updates don't work right away or conflict with Waterfox and may cause problems but other than the occasional hic up you should be very pleaseed with the results. As a long time Firefox Nightly beta tester I can confirm this. The average user will not like this browser for regular internet tripping. These benchmarks are outdated and mean nothing. They did mean something in 2011 but the 64bit browser like Waterfox is not faster than the regular 32bit Firefox any more. However that doesn't mean that it is not better in other areas. The browser takes advantage of the differences between the 32bit system and the 64bit system. The number of bits in a processor refers to the size of the data types that it handles and the size of its registry. A 64-bit processor is capable of storing 264 computational values, including memory addresses, which means it’s able to access over four billion times as much physical memory than a 32-bit processor. So you want a browser that can take advantage of that. Speed is not everything when it comes to 64bit browsing. I don't recommend Cyberfox. I tested it for 3 months and it is littered with tracking software built into the browser. Although they recently announced they removed it I can only advise users to BE CAREFUL! Stay away from Google Chrome browser. Firefox fork builds are all going to have peeks and valleys where they perform amazing, then perform well and at other times perform poorly. It is similar to using mods in PC games, you have to know what you are using and get involved with the browser community and sometimes solve problems. Download Waterfox here. Join the community and problem solve here.
  13. hahahaha that's funny no kids yet but I'm working on it I once read an article about a real bionic uterus (yes they actually exist) and the whole idea just blew my mind. It was such a cool idea that I adopted the nic and then after just added my name in front of it. It gets one of two reactions. 1) they declare it is the best name ever; 2) They confuse an organ that is part of the female reproductive system and for the purpose of sexual reproduction with the other organs used during sexual intercourse and to create sexual desire. I have actually had to tell some forum administrators that if they were in my bedroom about to have sex and I showed them my uterus that they would run out of my house :cop: It is a catchy name and rolls off the tongue well. I am pleased that you found my post informative. When you add Ghostery, No-Script, RequestPolicy and the new version of Dr. Web Link Checker and a few others found on my Mozilla security add-on list they will block almost all advertising. A few of them are redundant but when it comes to security redundancy is your friend. Cheers ~ktbu :alien:
  14. My first impression when I tested it on my laptop was that it was one giant Tracking Software Program. I couldn't be more disappointed and so far I see no reason to upgrade my gaming computer which runs win7. I have been so busy since the release that I easn't aware of this so thank you for the info. I hope you will continue to post about this so we can all learn what updates to block!!! There are lots of good games to play on Linux. Morrowind, KOTOR 1&2 o name a couple... but yeah, I feel you :( This is amazing and probably should have it's own thread where you can keep updating the top post. I too will do some sleuthing on my end... Yes thank you all for this thread :)
  15. Not only do I block all adverts but I also block website adverts asking me to turn off my adblock. I wouldn't mind ads if they were not so intrusive and were not an easy way to install viruses onto my computer. Here's how I block them: You need to have add block plus https://addons.mozill...n/adblock-plus/ install Greasemonkey (for firefox) or tampermonkey (chrome) https://addons.mozill...n/greasemonkey/ Then go to https://github.com/re...-adblock-killer Go to step 3... and install the the 5 scripts in greasemonkey / tampermonkey They should auto install but if they don't you can even copy and paste them in. it is pretty simple to get it to work. If you want to see my Mozzilla add-on security collection then just click on the link. You can also read my blog entry on Internet and Browser Security if you're bored.
  16. Looks like a painting! I love shepherds and was going to get one until I got Ollie :)
  17. Hi there, I'm a first time MO user and STEP guide follower. I am at the last step in the guide where I have created a Bashed Patch and need to turn it into a mod. Unfortunately I misunderstood an instruction regarding the Mod Organizer itself regarding the Overwrite folder and I never really realized how to access it. When the instructions said to delete folders in it I just went to the Overwrite folder in Explorer and did it there. Now I have found the Overwrite mod on at the bottom of the left pane in MO and I see my Bashed Patch and Doc folder but there is also a SKSE folder there What do I do with it now? Should I just delete it and then proceed with creating a mod with the Bashed Patch? Thanks in advance for any help
  18. Oh, I see it now :cyclops: silly me I didn't think that was anything but a header or something. It doesn't look like a button It seems I may have to correct some mistakes now... Thanks for the help
  19. Hi, I'm just going to string my question here since it is kinda on the same train of thought. I'm a long time Wrye Bash user and first time Mod Organizer user. I have followed the STEP guide and finally got to the final step but this final instruction has blended my brain into mush. Maybe somebody can explain it differently so that it makes sense to me. A different Bashed Patch can be created for every MO profile, so it is advised to move the Bashed Patch and its data to a separate mod folder. Simply right click the "Overwrite" folder and select 'Create Mod', then name it. Example is STEP Core Bashed Patch. You will then need to check it to enable it. Each subsequent time you rebuild the patch, you must open Overwrite and drag the new files back to this mod. So I went to the Mod Organizer folder and found the Overwrite folder and I found the Bashed Patch esp and a Docs folder. The instructions above say to right click the Overwrite folder and select Create Mod but I am not getting that option. Obviously I am not understanding this instruction correctly. Do I need to find the Overwrite Folder through Mod Organizer? The only reason I am even trying MO is to take advantage of the multiple profile feature so this part is important to me. Thanks in advance for any help
