  1. I managed to get rid of the majority of the flickering on mountains. I used all of the STEP ini recommendations, and my fNearDistance is set at 25.0000. Here is an example video: [video=youtube]http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiLnRzikbnk 1: OS: Windows 7 64-bit SP1 2: GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB SC ACX 3: Driver: GeForce 332.21 4: Video card settings: Screenshot of Nvidia Inspector. 5: In-game settings: All on Ultra except AA (4x). 6: INI weaks: STEP recommendations and 75 FOV. 7: Mods: Screenshot of mods. DxDiag:
  2. I think most of these mods that turn girls into supermodels are pretty silly, but i know they are one of the most downloaded mods on the nexus in that category, so my opinion is probably one of a minority :P
  3. Every time i enable this mod it works fine. But when i stop playing and then start skyrim again the mod is secretly deactivated, it still SHOWS as activated, but the save game says "This game relies on a mod that is no longer active blablabla"... The only way to fix this is to disable it, load a save and save, then enable it again... All i use is some STEP mods and ModOrganizer. I hope this is the right place to post this.
  4. It's strange how some games run perfectly smooth (with no mouse lag) at 30 fps whilst some games must be at least 60 fps...
  5. Nah, the PSU is about 5-6 years id say, but its true its very high quality.. The first separate PSU i bought was a "passive cooled zalman" for a cheap buck, i had it for 2 weeks until it gave up and shorted out the power each time i used it.. If there's is one thing I've learned its that you should always spend a little extra cash on your Chassi and PSU, because once you got real good ones, you practically never have to replace them! Thanks for your help :)
  6. It sounds very sensible to buy a 7970 card to be honest. A question: I was able to run two 5850 cards in SLI using a simple BeQuiet 650W PSU... What about 7970 cards? Do i have to get a stronger PSU? Oh, and can you enable ambient occlusion in Skyrim with an ATI card?
  7. I'm not sure how you determine VRAM usage in Skyrim. I am fairly sure that it has been explained by sb4n and me on these very forums before that measuring this figure is at best inaccurate. I can tell you when you get to your VRAM limit - it is when the game starts stuttering like crazy when moving or crashes completely. I'm sure MSI Afterburner can give a fake result, but each time it gets full, thats exactly what happens, the game goes from smooth to completely unplayable, and way more unstable, especially during cell changes but also randomly. [EDIT] Im now talking about my old setup, when i had two ATI 5850 cards in crossfire with 1.5gb vram. And before you ask, yes, i know its very difficult to measure vram on ATI cards, which is why i had my friend download and install step with his 2gb card and then tell me how much it was using at that time... Radeon 5850s have 1GB VRAM. I should know, I've had two myself. ;) Oh sorry, mix up on my part.

  9. I know, i tried to make an overstatement. My point is: 4gb vram is not a waste of money for me, it's also an excellent choice for future value, if you need more performance, you can always buy a second card, cheap, and run SLI/Crossfire... But if you need more vram, you gotta buy an entirely new card. And i'm sure Skyrim(ultra modded) won't be the only game that uses alot of vram in the future. However, the discussion whether or not its needed is futile, its very much needed, and this brings us back to the original topic. I believe i have gotten the information i looked for though, and i thank you all :)
  10. I know that many people think alot of vram is a waste, but even when i had a 2gb vram i managed to get capped in Skyrim once, i love high texture mods, my dream is to be able to play step with the higest possible textures and effects, and even though i don't play at 2560x1600 with 15 screens, it does take ALOT of vram... I have no problem waiting, and then i could probably get a second 670 card after a couple of years as a cheap way to keep me on top of the performance. That strategy has worked out pretty well so far. Thanks for all the help lads.
  11. Thanks, i don't like ENBs so that should not be a problem. So the GTX 670 4GB is the way to go?
  12. I was unsure of where to post this but i need STEP personel expertise so felt like the place to go! My current rig: 6GB 2000MHz Ram Intel i7 3.33GHz Two GTX 275 cards in SLI mode 896 MB One 22" screen I'm sure you can see my achilles' heel, 896 MB vram simply cannot cope with skyrim if you mod it. I need a new card, a card with alot of memory yet also fast enough to run the game.. Bad news is, i only got about 623 dollars (472 euro, 400 pounds)... Good news is, i only use one screen... Nvidia is my preference. So lads, is what i ask for possible? Or do you need a GTX Titan 6GB to run STEP ultra? Thanks in advance!
