Can't save edits to FONV INI files using MO
peppergomez replied to peppergomez's question in Mod Organizer Support
This message is popping up all over the place in my MO filter column: QAccessibleWidget::rect: This implementation does not support subelements! (ID __ unknown for QWidget) Also, even though I am logged in, I cannot download anything from Nexus via MO. I get this: Failed to request file info from nexus: error downloading (mod URL here) - server replied: Not found. Note that I have signed in to Nexus and that it did accept my password. Automatically log-into NExus is checked in the MO Nexus tab. And Associate with Download with Manager links is highlighted. Screenshot of the error messages posted here: -

Also, I noticed that your instructions specificy making the font Darnified font changes only to the fallout.ini and not the falloutprefs.ini You know that this same [Fonts] section exists in both ini files, right? fallout and falloutprefs. I would think the user should make that adjustment in both ini files. Can you confirm or correct me on this point? Having the two ini files be out of sync would seem to be problematic. -
Can't save edits to FONV INI files using MO
peppergomez replied to peppergomez's question in Mod Organizer Support
PS I also notice a bunch of errors listed in Filter on the bottom of MO: Request failed: Error downloading etc etc Annoyingly, file uploads are disabled on this site, or I would upload a screenshot. What the hell is up with this site re: image uploads? Is the idea to make it as difficult as possible to upload images? The featured upload function doesn't work (why is it even presented as an option then?), so I uploaded an image to my Flickr. But pasting in that link via the Image command only results in a hyperlink that users then have to click on? Am I missing something here?!? -
I could do this yesterday but not today, and all I've done so far is install ESB for FONV. I opened the FONV ini files in MO and added changes. Tried to save them and got this message: "Error failed to write to D:/Steam/SteamApps__<rest of file location>___. I searched my regedit and I do see installed path REG_SZ D:SteamsteamaapscommonFallout New Vegas

FNV Edit log: Fatal: Could not find plugin list
peppergomez replied to peppergomez's question in General Skyrim LE Support
OK, thanks. I removed the Darn entries in the ini and removed the ";" in front of the default entries, but for some reason (this is new) I cannot save the ini file within MO. I get "Error failed to write to D:/Steam/SteamApps__rest of file location___. No idea why. Nothing has changed in terms of ini location. If there are other order errors in your instructions, can you let me know? I like to load FONV periodically during the mod install process, to verify that things are working. Thanks. PS Using the image icon to paste in images via a URL link doesn't seem to work either. I just tried that in a post I made in the Mod Organizer forum and it just provides a hyperlink that forum users have to click on. Weird that it's so difficult to do something so simple. -
FNV Edit log: Fatal: Could not find plugin list
peppergomez replied to peppergomez's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hey EAB, I didn't run FNVEdit through MO when I'd posted, but I had run the FNV launcher. At any rate, I have since done that and it works. I was able to run the game from FNV 4GB Loader in MO. However, I have now gotten up to the ENB install and adjustment, and I followed the instructions to the letter. But when I load game via NVSE or FNV 4GB Loader via MO, the game crashes immediately after the copyright loading screen. Message: FalloutNV has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. I have not installed any mods yet, and haven't yet begun to clean the ESMs. (BTW, I notice you didn't list FalloutNV.esm as one for FNVEdit to clean. Is that intentional, that you started just with Dead Money?) Can anyone assist in helping me figure out why my game is now crashing if I try to launch it from MO? I can launch it from Steam, but cannot launch any variant (not even Fallout Launcher or New Vegas) from MO. PS- As an aside to site admins: Why is there an option to upload files on these forums if file uploading is not allowed I took a screenshot of MO that might be helpful. It's a 40KB JPG file, but isn't allowed to be uploaded. Ugh. Also, I looked for a Fallout forum here to post in, but didn't see one. -
FNV Edit log: Fatal: Could not find plugin list
peppergomez posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
I began an install of FONV but wasn't managing the mods properly, so I scrubbed it all. I just reinstalled FONV and have begun following EssArrBee's FONV install guide So far I have installed the game and all the DLC, run the game, and installed DDSopt. I then installed FNVEdit to the main game folder. I ran it and noticed in teh log that it had detected all the old mods I'd installed previously, in my UsersAppDataLocalFalloutNVPlugins folder. I had uninstalled all these to start from scratch, but I guess records of them existed in my AppData folder. So I deleted everything in the AppData folder. Re-ran FNVEdit and now get this message; FNVEdit 3.0.32 EXPERIMENTAL starting session 2014-10-03 21:11:57Using FalloutNV Data Path: D:SteamSteamAppscommonFallout New VegasDataUsing ini: C:UsersBen DDocumentsMy GamesFalloutNVFallout.iniUsing plugin list: C:UsersBen DAppDataLocalFalloutNVPlugins.txtFatal: Could not find plugin list I have run FONV so that the game writes settings to the INI files. And FNVEdit did find all the .esm plugins in the Master/Plugin Selection. I'm not sure if this Fatal: Could not find plugin list is a problem at this point, or indiicates something messed up, even at this early stage. I did remove then recopy FNVEdit into my Fallout New Vegas main folder, hoping that would reset it. It didn.t Thanks for the help with this. -
OK, so a few months ago I got the advance STEP install working pretty much perfectly. No joke. I had a glorious month or so of gaming. Then, as it did six months or so before, my computer took a dump and died. Won't go into the details, but they were BSOD issues which I addressed. Then more BSOD issues. I got fed up and sold all the components piecemeal, but kept the PSU (1200W) and the kick-ass GPUs (2x EVGA 680 FTW 4G cards) and the drives. A friend helped me build a kick-ass system and it's now up and running. I am using a different drive as my C drive b/c I wasn't confident in the health of the SSD that was my C drive before. Here's where STEP comes in: I have my full STEP install on a hybrid SHHD drive. Files: DDSopt Mod Organizer skyrim backup files Steam>common>Skyrim (main folder has among other folders, BOSS, Mopy, SweetFX, etc) and Skyrim mods Wrye Bash I pretty much did ALL my Skyrim install to this HSSD drive. I think I even installed and ran Steam from this drive. Windows 7 was not installed on this drive, but was the old SSD (that I'm no longer using). So, fast forward...I now have that HSSD instaled on my computer. I'd like to get Skyrim back and running and pick up where I left off. I suppose I could start a new game if necessary. The main thing is that I want to get all the components working as they should. I've no idea where to begin. I don't want to install Steam even until I'm sure of how I need to do this. I am now running Windows 8.1. I don't have it in me to do another STEP install. Thanks! Oh and to clarify-- Windows 8.1 is now installed on a RAID setup of 4 SSDs.

I kid you not. Close quarters sword fight, I got knocked backwards into jug or a vase and now I cannot get my character out. It'd be funny if it weren't annoying. What's the console command I need to enter to fly through objects? I need to move myself a few feet forward. Thanks.

Cannot toggle out of crouch mode
peppergomez replied to peppergomez's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hmm the problem has apparently righted itself, but it took a few different loads to do so. Any ideas what happened? -
Something weird just happened, and not sure if it is related to STEP or not. My character won't toggle between crouch and standing. I remapped a few different keys to verify it wasn't an issue with a single key on my keyboard. Never encountered this before. Any suggestions?

Water flickers/shimmers momentarily
peppergomez replied to peppergomez's question in General Skyrim LE Support
USually distant view but in a recent game the water near the eldergleam tree in Whiterun was flashing like crazy for about ten seconds. I haven't encountered that since, however. -
Extended STEP install and the game is running great, but the water shimmers/flickers momentarily when it loads in a scene. I notice this mostly when it's distant. How might I fix this? thanks.

Finsihed my STEP Extended install last night, and enjoyed 6 hours of crash free gaming. Booted up my comp and began MO, to find that a meshes folder has appeared in the Overwrite folder: Meshes>Cache>various tri File types (FCA605B7, etc.) Unclear how/why these appeared, what they are, and what I should do with them. Thanks.

Thanks but I don't think I clarified the issue... MO doesn't populate the Overwrite section with anything after I build the bashed patch. I dug around these forums and found this: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/5207-mo-121-bashed-patch-and-overwrite-missing/?hl=%2Boverwrite&do=findComment&comment=85790 "DIT2: For some reason it looks like WB started putting my BP inside the Skyrim Data folder, instead of running through MO. I'm not sure exactly how this happened, as I have never ran Wrye Bash by itself - only ever through MO. By deleting the Bashed Patch inside the SkyrimData folder, it forced WB to create an entire new patch, which ended up inside the MO directory and show up in the overwrite folder. This allowed me to properly drag and drop the BP to my BP mod again. So far it seems as if the problem is solved. Thank you for your help!" Wrye Bash sends the bashed patch to the Skyrim>Data folder, not the MO>Mods (or Overwrite) folder, which is why the bashed patch never got detected by MO in the Overwrite (or in any other) folder. Whether this is a bug on the part of WB or MO, or intended behavior by WB, I think it would be good to make mention of in the STEP install page. (IE "If you don't see anything in the Overwrite section after rebuilding the bashed patch, look to see if it is in the Skyrim>Data folder") Without finding that thread, I would have been unable to figure out what the problem was. After I dragged the bashed patch into the MO>Overwrite folder (I didn't delete it, like that poster above, but instead dragged and dropped), everything else (including FNIS and DSR) worked as intended. Do consider making a note of this in the STEP page, since I wasn't the only person who encountered this. Thanks!

Potential Mod Order PRoblem, but no files listed
peppergomez posted a question in Mod Organizer Support
I have a "1" in the top right warning but when I open the Problems dialog and see the Potential Mod order problem, there's nothing in the field below that would give me any indication of what the problem is/what files are problematic. PRetty much means I'm going to ignore this...what else can I do? I've run BOSS and BUM.
