  1. Thanks for updating the guide like you did! Since you have recently performed a full mod install - I have a quick couple questions for you: Were you able to follow this mod guide in its current state through the whole install process without (major) issue? And is your modded version of Oblivion playable now? I am about to start in on the install process as recommended by the guide and was curious what your perspective is (or if you have any sage advise for a novice modder). Thanks!!
  2. Where do I find the guide to begin to download mods for SR:LE ? In the past I followed the STEP guide and added Neovalen's mods on top of it. Worked wonders until my GPU died. Fastforward to today and I'm trying to get back into it... based on this thread it seems SR:LE is a good fit for me! SR:LE is stand-alone from STEP correct? Thanks.
  3. Ya it used to, had it running w STEP 2.2.4 but haven't updated anything since that version
  4. I don't have any partition on my HDD currently. Just 750 GB all on drive C: Do you think there's an advantage to doing a drive partition for me? Or can I just reinstall STEP on this drive, outside of the steam/program files folder like you mentioned. Maybe another option could be to replace my SSD and move my operating system onto it? I had just STEP mods on it before it died. Thanks for your help!
  5. Hello! Some background... PC SPECIFICATIONS: GTX470 (about 1GB VRAM?) Over 10GB RAM Operating system running on 750GB hard disc Extra 100GB SSD for STEP mods *can provide more details if necessary MY ISSUE: I was running a STEP 2.2.4 baseline with Neovalen's Skyrim Revisited and some extra mods that Iroha picked out in his mod guide. Basically, it was a highly modded install. Things went great for a while, then all of a sudden my SSD (where I had all my mods installed) died. It may be worth noting that the Skyrim Data folder was located on my HDD. MY QUESTIONS: Since I only have a HDD remaining on my PC, is it possible to do a STEP install? And any recommendation in whether to partition the drive or not? Thanks!!
  6. If we update a mod from an old version to a new one, do we have to reapply the changes in the SR guide such as "apply filter for cleaning" or "does not carry changes from DLC / unofficial patches"?
  7. Does the following changelog entry imply that there are lots of general edits to the entire mod list (like changing TES5Edit notes, compatibility patches, or similar)? Or are the "lots of edits" all related to the 5/15/2013 changes (like SoS, Alt start patch)? From Changelog: 05/15/2013 01:45AM PST - Added Sounds of Skyrim - Civilization. Patch also added under Alternate Start - Live Another Life. (Lots of edits, if I forgot something let me know.)
  8. I got both of these mods installed with Aiyen's recommended tweaks and my performance is looking very friendly. I get over 40fps indoors and for exteriors anywhere from 20-25 in the heavy woods moving quick to ~33 going slow. Not bad I think! Has been very playable so far. How'd I do? Oh and for grass on steroids I elected to use the "SRO - tall version" with a high degree of spacing (set the parameter to 130 I think) and am quite pleased with effect. Random question - do you guys use the ENB speed cheat / hack? Mine is enabled by default and I'm not sure how I feel about it
  9. Skyrim Performance PLUS sounds perfect, gonna install once I get off work! Love these performance friendly mods
  10. Ah okay, makes perfect sense thanks. Do you think there will be any serious conflicts between "grass on steroids" and the full SR recommendations? I'm assuming it will be okay, the mod page says it will work with lush overhaul and Vurts Flora. I'm thinking this will be the last piece if the puzzle, as my interiors FPS is fine. And heavily wooded areas is where I notice the strain on my system the most. Btw - turning off DoF saved me like 3-4fps overall. And visually I could take it or leave it. Really close to have ENb working!
  11. I played with the SweetFX_settings and enbseries files as your guide recommends and am quite happy with the performance so far! I also turned the shadows down to 1024. Getting ~30 to 35fps indoors and 20-25fps outside. Stability is greatly improved, but I think I still might be able to squeeze a little more out of it. I don't need to install the "grass on steroids" mod to use the tweaks they recommend, do I? Again, thanks for your help!
  12. Awesome thanks for your response! I was going crazy trying to figure this out. Looks like Iroha updated the guide to say something similar: ASIS can't import SkyTEST optional patches properly, to solve problem Open ModOrganizer\mods\SkyRe ReProccer Compatibility Patches\SkyProc Patchers\ASIS\Files\ and add SkyTEST-RealisticAnimals&Predators-Dawnguard.esp SkyTEST-RealisticAnimals&Predators-Dragonborn.esp
  13. Hrmm I am also having some trouble getting my game to start. I just updated SkyTEST (per the SR mod guide) along with everything listed from 5/9/13-5/10/13. Rebuilt my Bashed Patch and all the dynamic patches, then CTD at main menu. Started unchecking .esp's in reverse order and found that my game will load once I uncheck ASIS. That is, it will load with the full SR mods, Bashed Patch, and Automatic Variants. Maybe I should update ASIS? Or one of the recent mods from 5/9 or 5/10 is incompatible? My load order: (all SR mods) Bashed Patch, 0.esp Automatic Variants.esp Asis-Dependency.esp ASIS.esp PostASISPatch.esp Dual Sheath Redux Patch.esp ReProccer.esp qotsafan's Ars Metallica Patch.esp qotsafan's WIC-CraftOnly ReProccer Patch.esp ReProccerDragonborn.esp qotsafan's Miscellaneous Reproccer + Destruction... .esp
  14. Speaking of spears, I wish they had more stabby animations. All I get is a chopping action when I use them
  15. Awesome thanks for the advice! Now I've got some places to investigate. Would you recommend using the SR ENB preset for a high performance ENB? With the ENB tweaks of course. I'm thinking there might be a higher performance ENB or something that would be less FPS heavy for me? Just a thought! Reducing the CPU load makes a lot of sense from what I understand about how Skyrim graphics work. Ill check that out as soon as I can
