SKYRIMSE Consistent Older People has been set to hidden
MadOak posted a topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
Hey everyone, I recently decided to get into modding Skyrim SE again, after a few years away from the modding scene, and remembered having a lot of success with the STEP Guide (a lot of thanks for the amount of time and expertise that has always been put into these guides). Unfortunately, I've run into the problem that a mod "Consistent Older People" has been set to hidden as of August 1st, due to some recent controversy on Nexus Mods, that I'm unfortunately not that informed about. Sadly, this seems to be one of the mods required by the Step CR Patch. Therefore, I seek advice about what to do from here. While I respect Winterlove's decision to make it hidden on Nexusmods, is it possible that there is a download mirror somewhere? If not, does anyone have a .zip of the newest version that they might be able to send me? Or should I give up on the guide for now, hoping that the mod might become unhidden again in the near future? Maybe a way to bypass the requirement? Any advice is appreciated. Regards, MadOak -

Still wanted that Animated Fan file SRB? And could you use the NR3 2.8 if you got the no longer available FCO assets? -

Been updating my mod list after the guide, and I have a single correction: When installing Dragonskin Tacitical Outfit, there is a second .esp that need to be moved to the optional esps: DTOBP-ProjectNevada.esp, since it requires the Dragonskin Tacitical Outfit Bonus Pack, which isn't mentioned in the mod install instructions. -

Sorry I wasn't around to help you, just started studying at uni so haven't been here for weeks. Luckily you found the fix yourself, so everything is fine. For SRB: Been reading through the last 6-7 pages I've missed over the weeks and saw that you were missing the Animated Fan mod. It just so happens that I have that in stock and it can be yours for a mere price of 500 bottlecaps! Also got the Old Assets for NVR3 file, but I think that it would be a bad idea distributing that one, if peoples account of the ongoing "war" between Drumber and Dracomies are to be believed. -

I've fixed my problem with Willow's eyes using OrmrSnaethorsen fix. Damn those new eye textures are really something! -

Yeah, I just ended up deleting every NPC record from the FCOMaster.esm which didn't start with "race" in the name column. It isn't too hard to do if you just remember to sort the records by name first, then you can just delete the NPC records in batches. I just tested a new game and every race seems to work perfectly that way. Unfortunately I'm one of the unlucky few who is experiencing the "double eye" bug. Only seen it on Willow for now (she looks like some kind of terrifying hinduistic god). I'll be trying some of the fixes posted on FCO's page, but it seems to be caused by NVR3. -

Well this ain't good. All patches (Willow, Niner (hope to see him in the guide one day), the Playable Races + Roberts Patch, as well as the FCO patches for Afterschool Special and New Bison Steve) all require the FCOMaster.esm. Since the FCO - No NPC.esp won't override the NPC records and make them magically go away, the FCO - No NPC.esp isn't that much of an improvement over the fix we're using right now if you want anything but the races. I'll go back to editing the FCOMaster.esm again, perhaps this time using FCO - No NPC.esp as a guide. -

Drumber has released FCO 2.1.3 which fixes some missing textures. I'm pretty sure I read that others had missing textures for Lobotomites, so it might fix that issue. Also he has some optional files which perhaps should be considered for the guide: One is the 'FCO - No NPC Edits' which probably is just an .esp with the fix I suggested some time ago (edit: yeah it's confirmed, but it has been done in a lot more clean way than the fix I came up with, as the NPC race records have stayed untouched. This should be the main FCO file for use in the guide replacing aforementioned fix). Also he has some 'Fallout Character Overhaul Patches' with FCOing of 'The New Bison Steve Hotel and Lucky Casino' and 'Afterschool Special'. Don't know if the difference between the NVR3 style and FCO style will be too glaring but I will try them out none the less. -

Yes, letting 'renumber formids' stay ticked seem to fix the issue. That's a relief as we don't need some advanced fix that new users will have a hard time doing. Have you tried the same method for 'Welcome to Fabulous New Vegas'? -

Ok, just had the same issue with no mouse or menu appearing. Alt+tabbing out and then back into the game resulted in a CTD. I found out that everything worked out after disabling my Bashed Patch, 0.esp so that my be the culprit. An incorrect bashtag perhaps? -

Looks like, from the file description as well as the comment section, that this is just a compatibility patch for Lings and Mikoto. The only way to make NVR3 and FCO compatible is still the method I described earlier. It's a shame since he also edited a lot of the NPCs from OWB, but keeping them while removing the FCO'ed vanilla NPCs would be a tedious task. EDIT: By the way SRB, you've asked a couple of times whether anyone of us was using the IHWT mod. I don't at the moment, but I really think all of Tau34RUS's retextures need to be considered for the guide, I'm using the Improved Robots Textures and love them. If you still need testing of IHWT, I'll try downloading it and running the .bat. EDIT2: BTW the merging of the New Vegas Uncut Series needs an update where Pacers Gambit is included. And is it impossible to merge a new mod (Pacers Gambit) into an already merged mod (NewVegasUncutSeries.esp)? EDIT3: Think we'll need a recommended load order of plugins as well, many aren't incorporated in BOSS. I know we've moved to LOOT, but to my knowledge it still doesn't always sort the best way. Have quite a few .esps ending at the bottom of my load order. -

Apparently I've done something wrong here. I'm using FNVEdit through MO to merge the mods that has been specified, but the new merged mod ends up in the Fallout New VegasData instead of the overwrite folder. Not a big problem, but I need to move it manually in explorer instead. It's weird because when i used to merge in the older MO (1.2.09 perhaps) it worked fine. Anyone with the same problem? -

Ok, I might just not have searched enough. I think it might only be the valves with non-radioactive water, since at least the water tower in Novac, as well as a few other places I tried with radioactive water didn't work. But next time I get time to play I'll try a few of the places you mentioned. I really like that intro Keep up making those videos! Edits: Tiredness -

I'm very confused. Looking at KFE - Refill Water Bottles.esp in FNVEdit I see no perks added by the mod. And at least the different places I've tried to use the water valves my PC only takes a zip. As the guide says I have PN-Refill Water Bottles Patch.esp set as an optional file, is it really supposed to be that since you made it for him? -

So you're using Spice of Life together with Armoured Bounty Hunter Duster, Black Leather Armoured Duster and JaySuS Rogue Ranger Coats? Spice of Life already has the first two, and at least a few of the armors from JaySuS integrated, so they are redundant. By the way, am I the only one finding KFE - Refill Water Bottles pretty useless? The only place I have been able to refill bottles is at the Goodsprings Source. I really like how the mod works, but isn't really useful if there's only one place in the whole game where you can refill those empty bottles. If you could just fill your empty bottles with dirty water at places with unclean water that would make it much more useful. -

I truly know that feel. I've lost countless fights with heavily modding bethesda games, leaving them entirely for months at the time, before having the courage to try solving the problem. Mostly everything works completely fine after 5 mins. That's just the Bethesda Experience I guess. You said earlier that you used a merged patch instead of a bashed patch. Did you try deleting the merged patch and using the bashed patch instead? Have you, by any chance, modified your merged/bashed patch in any way? Sometimes the merged/bashed patch can prioritize the wrong mod (experienced that a lot), but last time I modified my merged patch for Skyrim I somehow messed up and got a problem a lot like yours (game not even starting up). I only found out months later that I just needed to recreate my merged patch... do'h! Are you experiencing the same problem, when having having the two mods activated, as you did before? By that I mean the game not even starting up. Or is it when loading your save game that the game crashes? NVInteriors and Lucky 38 Suite Reloaded (I guess you're using this one right?) shouldn't, to my understanding, change the same records, so I don't see why they would create such issues. How many active mods do you have in your load order? -

I'm using them both with no issues as well as the Niner patch (you need to consider that mod - very short quest but I've never gotten attached to a companion like I have with him (he reminds me of a very good friend of mine )). Unfortunately NVR3 wasn't made with body mods like Robert's in mind (Dracomies had to make changes to the mod after release so that mods like Spice of Life were compatible), so certain NPC's got some very boring looking body textures compared to their detailed face textures, both it's not hard to live with. I see, but I would definitely invest in a bulletproof vest if I were you -

Better Metal Impact was only a temporary mod until EVE was updated with the same (and perhaps better) feature. You don't need Better Metal Impact if you use the latest version of EVE. -

Actually it's pretty easy to create compatibility between NVR3 and FCO. I found out that you just need to remove all NPC records from FCO using FNVEdit, which will make you able to use the cool races from FCO whiile no NPC conflicts getting in the way (and you'll only need FCOMaster.esm (works for me)). But ofc this might not be that easy for someone who have never used FNVEdit, even though the procedure is easy (or so I think myself). And I who thought everyone of them had been found in GECK. The community never fails to amaze me EDIT: By the way, guess no one has failed to see the Improved Robots Textures mod. It looks just incredible and seems to only have conflicts with vanilla textures. -

Undead003 did a NVR3 + YUP Compatibility patch. You can find it here: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1876875-new-vegas-redesigned-3/page-106&do=findComment&comment=17027724 And excited for NVBIII, though I've never played NVBII as it was exploding with "bugs" for me (quest not starting after completion of NVBI, the sheriff house being Intangible and so on...) -

So, I've optimised my textures and placed the folders in the modorganizermods folder. One question though. When several textures have the same path (the one in the original .bsa, the now optimized texture and perhaps even a mod that overwrites said texture), would the game try to find all three textures overwriting each other every time it needs them, or will MO / New Vegas figure out which texture is the one with highest priority and only use that one? And does either have any significant performance loss?
