  1. this is what I did already. But nevermind either I didn't have my eyes in front of my sockets or something cause I' can't reproduce the issue now for some reason even though the file has uppercase it's all in lowercase in the conflict panel
  2. I found out today that a mod comes with a script file named "MineOreScript.pex" (Requiem) apparently the different naming from unofficial patches // CCOR : "mineorescript.pex" makes Mod Organizer not detect it as a file conflict in its interface. despite that, while playing conflict is resolved as expected. concrete example load order : CCOR Requiem in game any CCOR MCM change has zero effect, conflict winner written as CCOR in mod organizer.
  3. Ha! I had a quick look at how PMOP works internally, while I'm an amateur programmer, I don't think it's enough to do anything unfortunately *sighs* but at least now I understand why it works the way it works, I think the main issue is that it's really rough on the edges (it's not a critic). I mean, it does batch work(probably for speed reasons), comparing load order to install order globally which is why it can't identify a single reason for a single problem. also it works by suggesting minimal moves to conflict resolution. which means the list of "conflicts" may actually be bigger or smaller and this is why PMOP proposed changes make little sense to the end-user. Also I believe suggesting to move "unmanaged" assets is a bug. I have ideas to change that, that could work with minimal efforts on the codebase I believe & minimal strain on execution time. First would be to have an empty list of "ignored script conflicts" that is checked against the conflicting scripts list to remove some of the conflicts -PMOP would then do two things : calculate its usual stuff, present its usual fix & also a list of conflicting scripts -at this moment the user is presented with the option to ignore some script conflicts or not (this list could be behind an ADVANCED button or something) -if no change were made to ADVANCED : proceed as usual -if some scripts were ignored : recalculate the list of proposed moves -the list of ignored is stored which means any future checks will include the user changes -as a refinement the ignored list could also have a companion user comment list, just so that users could write out their own comments next to their own decisions. I believe this would work, and wouldn't overload PMOP with too much so that its code is still fast enough. much of it is interface changes. Albeit this is all up in the air right now, probably wasted my "breath" saying all that but whatever, it doesn't really matter xD. Anyways. Thanks for reading and for making your opinion clear now :)
  4. hi TechAngel, thanks for your answer I'm sorry to say you completely missed my point though xD the point is that PMOP is obscure. you said : "it finds conflicting scripts ?" alright why doesn't it tell us about them ? hum ? hum ? And yes it's up to the user to determine, but in my humble opinion, not enough information is given to the user, as well as not enough control over PMOP, imho, we should be able to tell him : ignore those files warnings (points at FISS files) therefore potentially "thinning out" the bunch of warnings that PMOP gives out. Just saying ... That said if PMOP is dropped in v2 then I suppose there's no point in putting more time in its development xD
  5. hi, There is one thing that sometimes bother me with PMOP it's how obscure its suggestions seems to be For example : with my current load order & install order I get this : so I'm not asking to fix my setup for me, while it would be nice to have some advice, I'm not commenting for this purpose. Rather I want to comment some of the changes PMOP suggest and why it's very hard to decipher, make sense of it, and maybe it could be improved some day ? so the very first line : Dawnguard is unmanaged alright, so asking me to move it ... XD also all of "The choice is Yours" lines are already setup like this.(they are all "before" like it asks me to) Looking at some other changes asked : it's hard to fathom why it asks for example if you compare "Take Notes - Journal of the Dragonborn" & "Bathing in Skyrim", It's all because of the included FISS script so it doesn't really matter if you compare , "Bathing in Skyrim" & "Requiem - The Roleplaying Overhaul", I don't even see the correlation between the two (there is no file conflict between the two) sooooo... What am I getting at ? I believe it would be nice, IF there was a sort of "advanced mode" to PMOP something that would disclose a bit more of the internal logic of moving stuff around example : another example : if each change doesn't relate to a single reason, there could be a list of reasons separate from the list of proposed fixes Another reason why that would be real nice in my humble opinion is that LOOT is in my humble opinion (again) not the "be all end all" of sorting ESPs & ESMs so sometimes PMOP wants to fix an install order based on a wrong LOOT order, knowing why PMOP wants to do stuff might help fix the ESP order instead, manually. (example : FISS is ordered by LOOT AFTER some of the mods that depend on it, might work but still bad practice in my humble opinion ???) I realize you might have stopped working on MO anyway, but I thought I'd drop this comment anyway, as it might get read and perhaps help make design decisions in the future. Thanks for reading.
  6. question : does the current REGS patch include changes/patches for Immersive Citizens or not ? thanks. edit: reason I ask is because I'm thinking of removing IC from my load order. I'm pretty much indifferent to that, it's a nice addition but it's not worth compatibility issues in my book
  7. Hi, I don't know if it's feasable at all but I was looking at requiem's pack : https://wiki.step-project.com/Pack:Requiem only to realize much much later that it's terribly outdated you could say : "but here you read the versioning of mods so that gave a good indication" and that's true & false at the same time a pack could have been updated and the versioning forgotten so yeah the time at which a page was last updated would be a nice addition if it's not too much to ask for:) thanks for reading.
  8. newsflash : when launching the Step patches installer itself it becomes very clear too bad I was actually trying to understand before doing :p
  9. well I always have my dictionnary nearby if I need it, or the internet. Myself I just install skyrim in english, having stuff half french, half english is not for me, + all the compatibility issues that arise that I don't wanna deal with And on top of that French voices tend to suck compared to english voice actors, except for a couple of games like say Half-Life 2 where Alyx is just so much more sexy sounding in French :p and very good idea to separate extended from core
  10. Thanks for the tips (& you too TechAngel) to answer your question~: first 100~120 / 57 % = 43 ~ 51,6 so yeah I'd prefer 60+ but anything about 50+ is fine, 45+ is tolerable and why aim for that, well it's a question of personnal preference on the responsiveness of games, 30 FPS games tend to annoy me to no end, and a 45 average means you'll get some dips to 30 already. I already played in conditions like these on multiple games before, I can get accustomed to it but I don't like it. For example a little while back I had a GTX470 superclocked (approximately equivalent to a GTX560Ti), and Tomb Raider 2013 was running not so good, so I disabled some stuff but still left the tressfx effect, because I felt like it somewhat increased realism (even though sometimes the wind direction for your hair seemed wrong), I had to bear with the 30~45 range FPS for playing this, I did it but didn't like it. I can't really explain this, it's a general feeling, I know most people are less sensitive about this than I am.
  11. well if I can give out my humble opinion here it is: if that project came to life, it should build on what gamerpoets has done already. e.g. linking to gamerpoets for the base installation of tools & such. and then continuing further on installing each mod step by step
  12. I'm sorry if I'm an annoyance but to me, there's a bucketload of text to read, absorb & understand, in a language I'm confortable enough but that is still not my native language. And while now I understand the stuff, I still think the legend should directly indicate that non-green stuff is extended. EVEN If reading the nomenclature + legend should be clear enough. The legend should actually be self-sufficient & not need to rely on other text located completely elsewhere to be completely understandable. It's especially confusing to me because when you're trying to absorb that much information your brain actually process the data & sort through it marking some as : -unneeded: only for short term memory -or useful and therefore stored in long term brain memory and while core & Extended is actually something that you need to remember & understand because the guide refers to extended in some places (but not core mostly) the other stuff in the nomenclature are pretty much not needed, I mean, low quality ? higher quality ? baseline ? ok that pretty much doesn't need any explanations and the LQ & HQ icons are already self-sufficient for a guy like me. Therefore the whole nomenclature stuff is pretty much skipped through & forgotten the week after when you're finally processing *insert here X batch of mods* And YES I should have read the whole guide better, but you know, with this mod construction I have about 40 tabs open, and opening & closing some all the time + handling a couple of windows, so yeah it's a mess in my brain ;) and real life actually interrupts me all the time so picking up where I left off is sometimes a challenge in itself. Anyway, who cares... you guyz already put out some amazing work here and I'm not gonna complain, I just wanted to explain my point of view. and you guyz actually replied to all my questions so far which is even more amazing. so hats off is all I have to say, I admire your dedication.
  13. yeah I'm looking at ENBs but still unsure if I'm gonna use one, -57% fps as advertised in SkyRealism - ENB Evolved seems pretty huge to me it would mean I'd need something like 100~120 average without ENB to start with maybe I'll use ENB but without some of the heavier effects... However since I didn't find any comparisons, it'll probably be some hand tweaking and since my setup is not yet complete, this seems daunting from where I stand for now xD
  14. ok, thanks a lot that clears stuff, though I found no mention that the extended patch is IN the STEP compilation anywhere. I must sound so dumb for you guyz xD have a nice day.
  15. yes that's the step compilation with the step patch ????
  16. as I said that's natural for you because you know your stuff. It's not so natural for simple end users like me. Anyway, what about "extended patch" ?
  17. yeah well the nomenclature doesn't really help distinguish what's core & what's not BUT I think I got it so are extended mods the mods without the green bar at the beginning ? if yes, then I really strongly suggest to add to the Legend that no green bar means extended because I was searching for the word Extended through the page and it didn't help, so I resorted to google searching and found mostly nothing, for hours. so yeah maybe I'm just an idiot xD but the page is kinda long, I don't recall 100% of what I read over several days (because I spread out the installation process over my available free time) and the fact that I couldn't precisely find what's extended by searching for the word is kinda meh. because "Mods that are not Core mods in the STEP Guide" doesn't really help by itself and needs to be supported by the legend to be understandable
  18. So from what I understood, STEP : Extended is just a selectable collection of STEP : Packs, right ? no ? In the brawls bug patch detailed page here : https://wiki.step-project.com/Brawl_Bugs_Patch#Recommendations it says : "Not necessary for Extended users that are installing Enhanced Blood Textures." so the question is : what's an Extended user ? someone that has installed a STEP : Pack ??? if I understood this right, this should be reformulated to something like this : "Not necessary for STEP: Pack users that would install Enhanced Blood Textures from one of their Packs." (I'm probably wrong though) and now the 2nd issue : Enhanced Blood Textures is part of "2.J. Animations & Effects " which is in the main guide, which as far as I understood is part of STEP: Core since it's in the STEP guide main page, though its dedicated page doesn't list it as "Core" This is horribly confusing and I can't find any precise information on what's extended compared to core And before you ask, yeah I read the page about your step mandate, doesn't help. And what's an "extended patch" user too ? is this inside the STEP compilation ? because in the STEP compilation page I can't see any reference to such a thing. Thanks for any help. sidenote: I'm not really having any issues so far, just finished going through the "GAMEPLAY" section. it's mainly a question of understanding the whole thing, might not help that english is not my first language (though I generally don't have issues with english)
  19. Thanks a lot, that totally answers my question and with that I believe I'll go with the normal res, that gives me some headroom.
  20. hi, in short I'm not new to modding skyrim but it's the first time I'm delving into STEP. (I'm also a simple modder at times) I'm trying to find a baseline to know which package to download because I would like, if possible, to avoid downloading too many packages. I didn't manage to find anything by searching so is there comparison screenshots of : STEP Compilation Installer - High Res - 2292c or STEP Compilation Installer - Normal Res - 2292c and is there a baseline of the type of gfx card + amount of memory recommended for both ? Thanks. PS: here's my quick configuration for information purposes: I7-2600k 16GB GTX760 2GB
  21. Is there a way to remove it ? MO is already endorsed (heck I would endorse it a hundred times if it was possible xD ) but I use MO without nexus connection (I prefer to download manually) thanks.
  22. Hello, I recently experienced dead bodies disappearing if you need a reason : it's especially annoying since I use hunterborn which makes it so that you can't always handle deads right away (takes time + weight) mostly in two types of setup : I took back to my stash lots of animals & I'm laying them all out for processing => found out, it's better to process them 1 by 1 instead since I risk seeing the carcasses disappear otherwise dragons tend to leave a lot of deads behind them, and if I don't process the dragon right away it might just disappear so does anyone know a way to raise a bit the delay before corpses are deleted from the world ? or the number of allowed dead bodies in a cell ? thanks.
  23. the overwrite section isn't so bad as it looks in my humble opinion (although I'm rather an MO beginner myself) it's just that files there will overwrite ALL and you can't change their priority the thing to do is to create one or several archive(s) with your files in overwrite and install them through MO personally I didn't bother moving out all the log files created by skyproc patchers (because those don't do anything by themselves to the game) I suggest this video : which shows the process for the bashed patch you can also browser the other videos if you so wish, always informative.
  24. I just wanted to contribute a little bit : autosave manager : https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34842/? is a great tool for handling your saves, having enough to roll back and preventing them to get at extremely high numbers at the same time. configure it for 50 incremental saves every 10 minutes for example (and disable all other saves) + add a manual save hotkey or configure it for 20 incremental saves localized by region .... a great deal of power and prevents having to clean your own savegames too often
  25. did you apply the NCC downgrade ? note: I'm not 100% sure this is relevant but ...
