  1. The BCF's are for people (like me) that refuse to give up Wrye Bash. :). BCF = BAIN Conversion File, BAIN is the installer built into Wrye Bash. As a MO user you will not need them.
  2. Hi, as i am also new to step ,but i can say this...if doing either the CORE or extended STEP, both patches come with a read-me, in that read-me is a list of all the mods that the patch includes/covers, any mod on that list for either patch, would have to be in your load order or the game will not load. I did a full Extended STEP, Yes every single mod no matter what , (came to around 103 ESM/p"s ?) on top of that i added in a bunch of mods ..(Skyre, AV , ELE ...) and now i have 197 ESM/p's and a completely stable game. Well except for the fact the weather sense thingy for Frostfall is not behaving.
  3. after the gpu change ....Did Skyrim Detect a new GPU? if NO Find "Renderinfo.txt" located in the My docs/my Games /Skyrim folder.....delete it. Start the game with the default launcher..(not SKSE_launcher), and the game will detect the new hardware. You can just look in the renderinfo.txt file to see what GPU is listed. if wrong then nuke. :) But as posted above, if the speed of the clock and memory is same between the 2 cards no FPS changes will show, IF only diff is amount of VRAM then you will notice change when in heavy Texture usage area's.
  4. just hope i am steering you right..as i took that from the read-me from the new extended patch... i had the other extended patch, and had a missing master..i downloaded the latest extended patch..(yesterday) and that is what i got out of the read-me.
  5. Yes ...but you are using the patch...its in your load order. So you don't need the extra patches, they are included in the extended patch. Pull up the read-me for the extended patch, it states what is included. :)
  6. I feel your pain...I had this also... For a long time i tried so many different things....its like Ghosting, if you move the mouse (camera) really really slow and stop n start a lot you can watch the colors change also? That was using a 32" TV with a bunch of different cables, HDMI, DVI - HDMI, and DVI-d . I never got rid of it. It actually seamed to get worse when i started to play Skyrim again. So i gave in and bought a real Monitor, (not a TV) 100% Fixed. What i am told is, its the MS time?...my new monitor is 1 MS, my TV was something like 5 MS (could have been higher) , also going from 60 Hz refresh to 144 Hz is amazing. Things to try....in your TV settings look for things like GAME mode. That turns off all the built in processing the TV has. it really does help. Using any kind of Adapter on your cable is not advised. Say your tv is HDMI and your GPU is DVI-d you have to get the more expensive hybrid cable that has the correct ends built in. This problem limited my time in front of the computer, the "Strobe" effect is so bad it can make you nauseous. EDIT: to add ....Drop your Screen REZ (while Gaming) to match the native resolution of that TV.>>1360x768 native resolution
  7. HI, Only because i have just finished Step core/ext i see you have a few redundant patches. according to the read-me for the patch, if you use > "STEP Extended Patch.esp" then all of the following are not needed ..... StaticMeshImprovementMod-DragonbornTernFix.espStaticMeshImprovementMod-FurnitureChestSnowFix.esp AOS_RealisticWater2 patch.espAOS-GDO Patch.espAOS-WAF Patch.espAOS_USKP patch.esp Someone correct me if i am wrong , as stated i just finished STEP and none of thos are in my load order because i am using the step extended patch. (like the OP).
  8. thanks... Ya am about to do >>3.A. Post-Installation Housekeeping<< lol..have to do FINS and the duel sheath thing.....have been doing bashed patches all along. Hope i did everything right...been loading the Game all along so shouldn't have any surprises.
  9. i just found this out...in the STEP mods section it said..Dropped.(should have looked their first) , download page even mentions that it is removed..haven't tried the patch yet. Wonder what else changed as i took about a month to do all this..(limited time) i downloaded those patches some time ago...Thanks for response. EDIT: That's better....where exactly should the Patch go ?...just above the bashed patch? boss does not recognize, but when i get confirmation on placement i can edit the "masterlist" so it always gets placed when running BOSS.
  10. Hi, First i have to say ,Great job!! following STEP was painless. Yes i even did benchmark runs at every step ,thats for another thread. My problem. I finally got to the end of Step and Step extended, i want to add the Extended Patch ,BUT it has a missing master according to Wrye, (yes old guy didn't give up his Wrye bash). Missing master>>>SoS - The Dungeons.esp I have created an exact replica of the WIKI page in my Wrye...<BG> Bain Packages: Any package that looks like i may have missed a part (update, or a separate download for dawnguard) are created as one package. IE: "the choice is yours" all 3 downloads are in that one package. did i miss something?...i looked at the wiki page again and none of the extended mods have to do with this. Was this mod removed and the patch needs an update. I can just install the SOS dungeons mod but wanted to do one last benchmark with only a full STEP install. PIC missing master PIC placement of Patch on installer page should it go to last position? Another question...when installing "Follower trap saftey" it has a Script conflict with "Traps make noise" which is loading higher. Correct? Should have called this thread...camaro's 101 question thread...lol PIC (partial shot) of my benches so far....thanks for this!!!! It is great to have watched as my FPS plummeted as my VRAM skyrocketed...hahahhah Again Great job putting all this together. Could someone point out the mod that the blind old guy missed??
  11. View Wrye bash as this...2 sides of a fence. Skyrim Folder | Skyrim Mods Folder On the <<left is the game folder IE data/textures | >>Right side is your Zips & or Projects in the Bash installer directory. That out of the way, a mismatch is nothing more then Wrye bash seeing a difference from one side to the other. could be anything, you edit an INI (in the game folder),and you now have a mismatch, you change selections in a installer , mismatch. You delete a file..Mismatch it all depends on what the mismatch is. ( I did a video showing how to create a BAIN installer then touched a little of this in the video, waiting on Youtube to verify me...lol). Conflicts....File conflicts, say one texture from one mod is the same as another mod, what ever mod is loaded first is the Loser, the mod that is loaded last is the winner. no need to remove or delete anything, Wrye bash shows you the conflicts, if you move one mod below another mod it will now be the Winner (this is assuming you have your Wrye sorted by Load order), Wrye will know what to do , it will remove / place files accordingly. Mod a Mod b IF you click on Mod A and look at the conflicts it would say that mod B is higher (Winner!) If you click on Mod B and look at the conflicts it would say that Mod a is Lower (loser). Sort all tabs in Wrye by Load order. Then from top of page is start, bottom of page is finish, as we load files they get overwritten by the next mod loaded. Boy that was hard to make clear. :)
  12. Open Note pad....Press the movement keys.....see if any are sticking...mash them like you are playing....especially WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Make sure windows is not using "Sticky keys". or keyboard repete? Check in different port...different Keyboard. Don't eat jelly sandwiches at computer...:)
  13. Hi, First i have had this before. Once it was because the cable to the back of the monitor was partially pulled loose and when gaming it would loose connection. cause i would shake the desk. (Check all connections) Once it was because of a failing Power supply. System was taxing it for years and Power supply's loose efficiency as they get older. (USE OCCT to test Power supply) Once it was of faulty Driver install and or crappy driver. I have been Nvidia for a long time and some of their drivers are well CRAP. Try reverting to the driver that was released at the time (age) of your video card. sometimes newest is not best. I cant quite read that pic , but i can make out that your Nvidia. the last few drivers have had this problem (monitor blanks out) roll back to an older driver. Check the Nvidia site there are tons of posts on this, think you have to go back to a 314 something driver to have a stable one. I am using 334.89. Before that i tried many of the crap ones and always defaulted back to my rock stable 290.53 driver. Nvidia has been rolling out drivers like mad in the last year. Being that its just a blank screen (no signial) i wouldent think Driver because your not getting the "driver has recovered" message. So i would suggest, connections and power supply. Also try re-seating the card, vibrations are a pain. Yes i am old, and have had a lot of things happen...lmao
  14. Doing all that now...the clean was easy and quick...the Verify was quick...teh ZIP of the Skyrim folder...not quick...lol Thanks again i did cave and will be following the guide using MO.
  15. From the mod page at nexus. the Author states.... :)
  16. old dog new tricks.... 6-7 years of using only wrye bash to mod all Bethesda game is going to take some doing on my part, as even tho everyone says use MO, but then in next breath also say ..but you still have to use Bash (for the patch) but i will give MO a shot. Thanks for the link to that "Vanilla" clean process of Skyrim i liked this part at the end.. Ya that could stirr up a few locals, wonder whats the best place...markarth? Whiterun? I am guessing i could also just "COC riverwood" from the main menu (as that just gives you a default character) and then use the other commands. The more i am reading i see the point of using MO so will give this a shot. I was reading another WIKI page "Skyrim Legendary edition" that sounded closer to what i was going for , Still need to learn TESVEdit as i know i will wander outside the lines after a CORE setup. Sigh ..and i already spent a month of reading read-me's on my weekends....soo wish i had found this earlier. And a 37 GB Skyrim folder...about to Pooof. thanks again.
  17. HI, Thinking of using STEP , First Question, is STEP following the wiki page and just installing what has the Green bar. IS extended STEP everything not Green but also on the same WIKI page? Is STEP about a base game, that one adds mods too like SkyRE and Frostfall. AS i am really, really, accustomed to using Wrye BAsh, since Oblivion and FCOM days, can this also be followed with only using Wrye? I watched a few videos on the use of MO and all during the videos i keep thinking...i can do that in Wrye. Decided to put background stuff in spoilers ... Reading about STEP I see that a lot of work has gone into this, but I see mods that i don't have right now, that could help with a stable game. (I have a screen cap of Skyrim @ 19 HRS play time) so ya i like it stable. At present this is my BAIN List followed by a MOD list. Every single mod was restructured in BAIN to include patches and updates, can this also be done following STEP? Bain Packages: Active Mod Files: Sigh....re reading this post i realize a few things....before i even post it ....1) posting about not following what you have layed out is not wise....2) figure anyone reading this is gonna think...Idiot just start over.. 3) im gonna have to start over... Think i need to just read this all over again, and will more then likely answer my own questions. Hi again. thanks for having a Forum one can ask silly questions in!!Stubborn old guy.......wants to just use Wrye.
