Guys, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt looks as promising if not more. Can't wait for next year, saving up to buy a monstrous rig :) -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Tarikko1 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Would be nice to get Neo's feedback on Gekko64's post #3410 . I am still waiting to play the game since i am worried that at high level i will be oneshotting enemies. I have decided to wait and do a full re-install once the guide is almost finalized. Hopefully Neo will add some scaling/combat mods to address this issue. -
Why Elder Scrolls Online fails to Deliver (for me)
Tarikko1 replied to Uhuru's topic in General Game Discussion
ESO was a huge disappointment for me. I will not be renewing my sub. -
Now I realized that my CPU has been the bottleneck (long with my Mobo)... Time to start saving :)

Ok Daniel. Any mod can move this thread to the appropriate forums? Thanks,

At factory speed will it offer a better performance than the i7 980x?

Hello Step Community, Whilst going through TESO reviews comments (awaiting my copy of TESO atm :) ), I stumbled across this: Skywind. https://tesrenewal.com/skywind-faq What IS Skywind exactly? A: It is a non-commercial, fan made modification for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that seeks to merge the amazing world of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind with the enhanced graphics and capabilities of Skyrim's engine. Funny, few days ago I was thinking to myself... Why doesn't someone merge the past ES games and Skyrim. Imagine. This is still a WIP but looks so promising. Just wanted to drop this here and see what you guys think about it, or has it already been discussed? In any case, the gaming future looks so bright, specially now with the advent of the 4k screens. Good times are ahead for us gamers, that is for sure!

DROPPED The Skyrim Distance Overhaul (by Grieche)

Sorry wrong post -
My frame rates are with ENB enabled on High Settings. Maybe i should replace my CPU, what do you guys suggest? How about the 4960?
-
Well i get exactly the same FPS as Belexandor... With a I7 980x CPU oced to 4.4, a 780 Nvidia GFX card and an SSD, running at 1920 x 1080. Indoors are smooth and my fps is in the 50s, outdoor and heavy demanding areas i dip to low 30s and even high 20s before I decided to OC my CPU. I am doing a fresh re-install and will be trying the new Nvidia drivers once they are out of Beta. Hopefully this will give me a slight boost. Anything below 35 fps is kinda unacceptable tbh, specially with my system which can be considered high end.

Gonna try it once it is out of beta :)

What FPS should I be aiming for?
Tarikko1 replied to TuxThePenguin's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Faylon try to OC your CPU, I gained up to 20% FPS with OCing my i7980x (3.33ghz----> 4.4ghz). Skyrim is highly cpu dependent. -

Unreal was less demanding than the current Vividian enb, although the latest looks much better. -

I was planning to OC my GFX card but i am a bit hesitant atm. I noticed when switching ENB's and between all the downloads/install/re-install, trial and error process that my fps has dropped. I am just gonna do a clean fresh re-install of everything, after reformatting my SSD and see if i will gain anything. Maybe then i will decide whether i should OC my GFX. I have a copy of all Mods downloaded and Skyrim along with its official DLCs on my hard drive, thank God. The whole process should take a day (once the family travels next week and i have plenty of time on my hands :) :) -

Daniel I have a similar system to yours, I7 980x (OC 4.4), Nvidia 780, 16 GB RAM @ 2400hz, SSD drive... Playing at 1080p, my minimum fps drops to 32 in heavy load areas :( After following the whole guide. I should note though, that I am using the high ENB settings, as opposed to the regular and performance versions. I am kinda perplexed, similar systems playing on a higher res are getting more fps.... I must have done something wrong along the way :P -

From CPU oc i achieved almost +20% FPS, this is going from 3.3 to 4.4ghz. I will be upgrading my RAM today, but i dont expect much gains, maybe 2-3 FPS if im lucky. Lastly, i will bump my 780 a tad bit. -

Update: Just fiddled with the multiplier and voltage in BIOS and oced the CPU from 3.33 (factory setting) to 4.4... My FPS in the same area/screen (hill overlooking the river next to riverwood) jumped from an average of 28-29 to 35-36! :) Time to OC the GPU now and see if i can reach a minimum of 40 fps. Will advise later on tonight. -

The game looks absolutely stunning, after following the whole guide, but I just wanna squeeze 5 more fps, not being greedy or anything :) In some areas my fps drops to high 20s, and honestly i dont like it when my fps drops below 35, doesn't feel smooth anymore. Note: I am using the ENB high settings optional, maybe i will revert to normal settings if all else fails It is too early to upgrade my pc, i just upgraded my GFX card so i can enjoy a modded skyrim, but it seems even the 780 is struggling. I am reading some OC guides, and im gonna try and OC my intel i7 980x cpu to 4 - 4.2k GHZ (up from 3.33)... Do you think OCing the CPU will wield some noticeable results? I read many times that Skyrim is more CPU dependent. Ofc, there is still this: https://www.anandtech.com/show/7897/nvidia-announces-geforce-gtx-titan-z-dualgpu-gk110-for-3000 Even though it might be a "little" overpriced -
Ok Torminater, noted :)

+1, I have cheated as well and used your conflict res esp :) Game is running beautifully, thx so much.

Perfect, I am good to go then :) BTW the new Vividian ENB is awesome... the game is just so beautiful after following the whole guide... Seriously, it is a feast for the eyes. I am using the high quality enbseries optional, and it is quite taxing... even on my 780 GTX... in heavy areas i can drop to low 30s. But luckily no stuttering, it is smooth. Thx yet again m8 :)
