pack Weather and Lighting (by Smile44)

You changed it again? Dammit and me with my poor aching back, ah who am I kidding I'll get right on it. Great work by the way. :) EDIT: Ok looked at it and the changes I made recently appear to still stand except for the fact that BOSS sorts it correctly now, so I changed that. I have added a new mod "Falskaar - Climates of Tamriel" as an optional it adds CoT but I'm not sure that it carries over the additions of the other mods, that said the times I was there the rain did get very heavy so probably good to go. prod80 did you check my pack page before posting? I'm only asking in case I missed something glaring, but otherwise I re-did it last week when you first made the changes. -
SKYRIMLE aMidianBorn Landscape by CaBaL
Smile44 replied to DoYouEvenModBro's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I like it and am currently trying it out. It used to be known as Amidianborn Roads and Bridges but then morphed into this so I guess a new thread is needed. It looks really good and works well with SFO and RW2 etc.. I have installed over the top of Step Core. It is not that far away from vanilla but has a sort of cuddly feel to it - if it makes any sense. Like a hint of warm fantasy terrain while still looking as real as Skyrim ever generally gets. :) -

All those tools need to installed in MO, following the instructions in SR:LE for setting up Skyrim is a great way to go, gets everything ready, then instead of installing the mods in SR add the ones in STEP. You shouldn't need to reinstall everything just set up a new profile. Of course if you have already worked out all those things then your good to go. The only tool that is not used through MO is DDSOpt. :) -
pack Weather and Lighting (by Smile44)
Smile44 replied to Smile44's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
If you want to compile a list here and if it is comprehensive then I could add it to the pack page as a note for users of SoS - but my pack works from CORE not Extended, though most mods in extended are compatible there are a few that are not. Trouble is if you go for a giant mod list getting up to the 255 esp limit then you are going to have stability issues anyway. best to keep the plugins well below that limit and a full STEP install makes that difficult. So if you want less headaches then Use CORE or SR:LE as your base and then add the weather and lighting Pack and any other compatible pack and you will get hours of great looking UNINTERRUPTED Skyrim fun. :) -

Smile44 replied to Smile44's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
I am not using SoS because it is a PiB and I can live without it. I am using AOS and it seems to work without problems so far, but would consider losing that if it was causing issues. Vanilla sounds are not so bad that I want to put up with huge conflicts. :) -

What size are the vanilla originals? I doubt you will have any problems with that resolution, but sometimes less is more. :) -

You hit the realism issue on the head there. :) -
Edit: mis-read above post. Anyway I use HQ Snow and am trying the 10% version and this is recommended in the weather pack. :)

Is done - I think. Let me know if there are any problems. :) -
Make sure you load TES5Edit with all your plugins then start at step one and go through each section. Probably a good idea to save at the end of any large section or several small ones. Some FormIDs depend on load order which should be the same but mine wasn't so change the 070..... to 020.... / 030.... etc.. till you get the right file. It is a challenge to do but worth it for all the learning that goes on. Remember the last mod on the right of TES5Edit is the one that plays in skyrim - knowing that will help you to understand what is happening as you make the patches. Good luck, :)

Neovalen's Skyrim Revisited Guide
Smile44 replied to xExekut3x's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
He is not, this does work well but has not been updated for a while and so many things may have changed. That said if you do follow it the patches may be different in TES5Edit as many mods have released upgraded versions not to mention the Unofficial patches phew. He is building a new and improved guide, but though this works well and looks great it is not finished and so I would not touch it unless you know what you are doing - hopefully it will be more or less completed early in the new year (A GUESS on my part - I have no new information on the eta for this and I have no intention to find out, it'll happen when it happens.) :) My advice would be to use STEP for now. Just the Core mods. Then you can add on various packs, I would recommend VEGA core if you want a bit more challenge or the Requiem pack if like a lot more challenge. There are also other packs out there, a very nice and detailed survival pack not to mention, weather and lighting and a more stripped down survival pack. All work well and are easy to install. Happy modding :) -
You can use either but as SR:LE is not completed and requires quite a lot of work as far as building the patch goes then I would suggest Step Core, plus Requiem pack plus weather and lighting pack. Some elements of the survival pack as well. (mods to leave out for Requiem are detailed). Now I do plan to add a new lands pack soon - this will involve Falskaar, Wyrmstooth and Moonpatch to Elsewyr. These are easy to add in themselves. Requiem patches exist for the first two and there will be one any day now for the latter. I also recommend OBIS (with patch). Bandits are a complete ***** with this even if they are not too hard to kill they will bring you down sharpish if you let them get close. I will probably add my recommendations for other mods to an extended Requiem pack or possibly add them to the existing requiem pack just as soon as I have some time. :) P.S. I am using SR:LE as a base at the moment and it does work great but was a lot of work to build the patch - this is an ongoing project though and I do not advise using it unless you know what you are doing.
-
Generally yes I've had no problems. Requiem just uses a system to multiply the stats of weapons and armours so should be fine. Of course if the added armour uses unusual file names in the esp then there could be problems. Most modders use the correct terminology now though. :)

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

It is updated several times a week - it will be done when it is done I would say. The shear level of testing involved is huge when it comes to fitting things into a guide like this. :) -
SKYRIMLE RCRN AE -- HDR Lighting and Weather Enhancement
Smile44 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I personally have been waiting for this to be finished for a long time. I liked the last version 3.6 and ran it alongside TC's RCRN Plus. I got dark nights and scary dungeons and a game that looked so much better with it than without it. I also tried every other lighting mod out there, but this generally won out because it looked great and worked well and cut down on the number of plugins. When I upgraded my system suddenly the world of ENB opened up and I really enjoyed those frame rates. So now, well many of you know what I am using for lighting and weathers, and there are some exciting things in the pipeline to do with CoT and ENB going on so that is not going away for me. I downloaded AE as soon as it was available, even did a little Beta testing earlier in the year, the kinds of things that alaa and co were working on and trying to get working were both ambitious and ultimately brilliant if they could pull it off. I can't say the wait hasn't been frustrating at times, just when I thought they were getting there, suddenly the team was off up a volcano somewhere, "sheesh!" (PP / SM quote). Is that overkill or passion? I hate hard sell as much as anyone but when I look at the RCRN site what I see is passion and perhaps pride but not undeserved because this mod has been a labour of love for a long time. So I am going to try it hopefully I will have time tomorrow to install it into a new profile. If it looks great in my game then I will want to keep it, compatibility wasn't much of a problem in the past so hopefully isn't now. If it doesn't look as good in my game then of course I wont use it. I doff my hat to the RCRN team anyway because they come across as passionate about the mod and passionate about helping people use their mod as well as seeking to continue to improve it - and well, that attitude impresses me. :) -
An excellent question, and the answer is .......... Drum roll if you please. I don't. It is for SkyRe but the esp is just in my overwrite folder as I have a profile in which I am running SkyRe. The Vega pack is excellent and very stable if used with Step Core plus perhaps weathers and survival packs. Re EBT - I like the mod in principal BUT it does put a strain on the engine especially in big battles, I find myself working so hard to stay alive that I don't notice whether or not there are great piles of blood and gore flying about. If I ever decide to play as a vampire or werewolf then I might stick it in but would not use Requiem for that or Sic as I would want to be the nastiest creature out there so instead would use related vampire and werewolf mods and mods that increase the number of vict.. people in Skyrim. Requiem is my personal choice and so if you use Step Core and all three of my packs you should also get a stable but great looking game. Incidentally I am going to give RCRN AE a go, I always liked it but I want to see which ENB presets work best with it. Wrong forum for that though and will need to test it some to figure out how to get the best out of it or whether I prefer my current weather and lighting pack. Hope that helps. :)

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Smile44 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
SIC is still there, the links have changed due to Nexus reorganisation. :) -
For most of these examples you need do nothing, the main areas Requiem conflicts with are resolved by loading it late and making sure that you have nothing afterwards that conflicts, adds perks or weapons / armour etc. Requiem addresses the armour and weapon stats in a simple way by basically multiplying their base values so anyrhing before Requiem will be given Requiem stats. Only those mods loaded before Requiem that have changes or stats that you want to keep will need some sort of patch. An example would be Falskaar. Requiem works essentially in Skyrim and Dawnguard areas and all your weapons and armour will have Requiem stats x4 I think. Falskaar un-patched has vanilla values so you would clean the place up very easily as you would in other areas such as Solstheim and Wyrmstooth so the patches for these just add Requiem stats, perks, AI etc to these areas thereby keeping it real and challenging. You need to mod much less heavily when using requiem because it does so much, I mean IA and IW have patches but many of those items are included in Requiem anyway so why add them again. Less is definitely more. The reason I suggested GDO is because in order to do what it does it has to affect a great many different things - for example with guard comments that are triggered by armour stats may happen earlier than intended due to increased armour values - I don't really pay too much attention to guards unless I'm up to no good so GDO fixes don't really bother me, That said, in the example you have included above you show a vanilla value that is shared by all files except W&A Fixes, if I was patching that I would use the Requiem file and copy over any changes from W&A fixes that alter vanilla stats but not Requiem stats so in the above case then copy the Requiem file into a new patch and add in the 31 from W&A fixes to the patch - so you get the vanilla fix without affecting Requiem as in that case it is just a vanilla number. Requiem does fix a lot of things in skyrim and with the USKP patch from Azirok it is upto date with the latest unofficial patches so you don't really need W&A Fixes and I expect the patch would be quite a large one. Thanks for all the input here guys, the more the merrier on the road to an exhilarating Skyrim experience. :)

SKYRIMLE SIPP - Skyrim Ingredients Potions and Poisons by mindkiller316
Smile44 replied to rootsrat's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Skyre is for milkdrinkers :pI beg to differ, with the right mod choice ;) Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk Sure with a careful selection of mods, you can get up to milkshake drinker difficulty. :) Anyway - to get back on topic, this mod appears interesting from a non-Requiem point of view - it would make alchemy etc.. have more to do and be more immersive looking for special ingredients for that powerful brew. -

Awesome! :) P.S. I would love to try his ENB, I was always waiting for it to be finished but I have not looked at it beyond a few tantalising screen shots. -
Hi, I don't see the patch for EBQO - Requiem, which you will need. You don't need run for your lives as Dragons in Requiem give out an aura of fear which makes people run and hide anyway. I would be careful of GDO, not sure but might conflict with Requiem. The walk run mod is not necessary as you get faster with higher stamina / carry weight. Not sure that you need reduced distance NPC greetings, but I need to look into that. Actually need to look at quite a few mods currently in Step. I did this once but suspect that there is a great deal more that Requiem covers. Your load order is fine apart from the missing EBQO patch. :)

The only things that should be after Requiem.esp are other Requiem patches, follower mods, including EFF etc, Alternate Start, Water and other patches. Requiem - Hard Times.esp, and Requiem - Dragonborn and SIC patches (if used) need to be after all the follower mods. Requiem - Hard Times actually should be just before the bashed patch due to the USKP merges. I do not know why I would have described it any other way as this avoids errors with whatever mods you have set up. My recommendations in this thread should be similar no reason for them ever to have been different, I will have a look to see if there is a typo or similar. :) Edit: had a look at the pack and I seem to have two different instructions for Hard Times, I will edit as soon as I get a chance. Edit 2: Ok having looked at it properly there is no error, the way it is described in the pack page is to load it at the top of "Realism" which means that if you have a mod like RND it will load after Requiem as it should, other than follower mods and those that I have mentioned will also load after Requiem. Of course in the masterlist there are a ton of mods that potentially load after Realism, but you should not have any of these because a) not needed with Requiem and b) not in STEP or any pack guides. So Requiem should be fairly low in your load order as it is in mine.

pack Weather and Lighting (by Smile44)
Smile44 replied to Smile44's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Glad you like it, I'm playing with Requiem at the moment, and it is so much fun. I've got SIC, HLE, Falskaar and Wyrmstooth in the game which has a base of SR:LE. I'm using some settings from The Core Vega pack. I am not using SkyTEST because Requiem already does the AI of animals, perfectly well though there is a patch for that. Rumour has it that there will soon be a patch for Moonpath to Elswyr, which will then make it into my game. I may well then put up an other lands pack or Skyrim Expansion Pack (sounds better) and detail it for Core Step and my Requiem, Survival and Weather packs - not too difficult and wouldn't take long, it's just the other patches, water, RND, CoT etc that have to be taken into consideration. Step is moving in the direction of using RW2 which has patches and waves for two of those, I wonder if more will be done for Moonpath? Anyway if you are enjoying playing then thats great - just don't add anything else in as that messes your saves up. :)
