  1. oh and i think we should check the mcm helper box because we use mcm helper in STEP
  2. unequip quiver SE now has a FOMOD as of today https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/44031
  3. I chose latest basic instead of lush and Im not getting that option Might be only for lush?
  4. https://stepmodifications.org/wiki/SkyrimSE:Enhanced_Vanilla_Trees_SE/2.0.0 Enhanced Vanilla Trees SE "tree options" "size applies to ALL trees" (*) ...(small)* this option has been removed from the fomod
  5. vanilla embers XD most of helgen isn't changed by embers, so you just end up with a bunch of inconsistent piles of molten wood this also affects windhelm during the civil war
  6. thx a ton, i did read the description when i figured out what mod was causing the timegate, so i disabled them due to personal taste. feedback is that this mod imitates a bug where irileth straight up disappears from the game if dragon rising fails to start https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Dragon_Rising it also doesn't give you an initial warning saying "wait a while for farengar to finish his research" obviously people that have installed the mod on purpose have read the description and know what it does, but STEP users may not suggestion is to maybe add a note in the guide so new users immediately notice this mod isn't self-explanatory and that their game is not bugged as for embers, i would add a note that mentions particle effects and enable "remove helgen" in fomod because it does break immersion. i couldn't find the setting to disable particle effects like DY mentioned, though.
  7. im using the 4k step guide, so all of my settings are what step recommends for 4k, i use all optional mods too. i do however use enb performance instead of heavy because even with my ryzen 5800x, 32gb ram and 6900xt i still get like 30-45fps on heavy whereas performance looks great with much better framerates. embers xd comes with a couple of drawbacks. one is the look can be extremely inconsistent with the rest of the game, more noticable in helgen during the dragon attack and windhelm in the civil war questline. disabling embers xd has made the game look acceptable while retaining a more vanilla feel. the other drawback is looking at some light sources can cause the game to go into slideshow framerates, which is why i had to uninstall it. i'm not sure what caused the frame dips, i didn't see anything in the guide that would fix it, but help on that would be nice. i'm still going to keep it uninstalled because it makes some scenery look really out of place. while quickly speedrunning the main story to check if all that worked, i had to look up why irileth didn't appear for dragon rising, and realized the culrpit was "not so fast." it turns out that isn't so much a natural fix for the pacing of the main story, but more of a timegate. the problem i have with it is it doesn't let you know "hey come back in 6 days" i guess if you have the mod you're expected to know it already, but i think for STEP that should be avoided since it can cause confusion and doesn't really change the quests to naturally have better pacing, but just adds an artificial timegate to stifle progress in that questline, making it inconsistent with the vast majority of the game.
  8. CACO and hearthfire extended cause a conflict where both vanilla horker tusks and CACO horker tusks do not count for creating a mounted horker head in the cellar of your house should be a simple fix but CACO also causes some conflicts with other non-step mods like lustmord vampire armor where human flesh and blood cannot create blood potions disabling caco and related step patches, starting a new save with live another life and going to the lakeview manor and spawning myself vanilla horker tusks, fixed this bug for me ive built every other item in the manor so afaik its just horker tusks that cannot be obtained ingame even with console commands
