  1. It sounds like it might be keeping stuff in memory while it loads the new area, and maybe it's running out of resources or something. Or possibly trying to spawn too many things at once if you have tons of mods that spawn stuff. Just a guess. You mentioned that you use the .inis, what .inis are you referring to and where did you get them? Might post them for us to see.
  2. I use CoT, RLO, supreme storms, CoT Weather Patch, lightning during thunderstorms, and Project ENB for CoT. I have no issues and I also use Frostfall and RnD and lots of others; I actually have about 240 ESPs. But I've cleaned every mod and I've also implemented all the special conflict resolution that I've found in SR (Skyrim Revisited) and SR:LE, and I've optimized all my textures to 2048x2048, and I keep Ugrids at 5. You didn't mention using the Memory Patch or the UGrids to Load thingy. You should definitely be using those.
  3. I know you got it fixed already, but another idea for similar situations is to optimize the textures. I had a persistent CTD near the bridge SE of Whiterun and I fixed it by optimizing the textures using DDSOpt. And no I didn't reduce the texture size, I just used the max 8192x8192 setting. DDSOpt will correct issues with your textures and that's what it did for me.
  4. I've noticed that some changes persist if you don't reload the whole game, e.g. console commands like tgm. That tends to suggest that things aren't really cleared out unless you do a complete restart.
  5. I guess I've always used the classic CoT with Project ENB. The following mods are what I use, and I think they would make a great package: Climates of Tamriel (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/17802/) Project ENB for CoT - Realistic version (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20781/) Climates of Tamriel Weather Patch (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/39799/) Supreme Storms for CoT (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27022/) Morning Fogs (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24810/) Lightning During Thunderstorms (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15506/) Lightning During Thunderstorms - CoT Patch (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25675/) And if using Falskaar this patch for CoT: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38361/
  6. Here are a few I enjoy: Celtic Enchanting Table (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/3987/) --For those who don't like pentagrams; replaces the pentagram on enchanting tables with a celtic knot. Telescope (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30473) --Craft a telescope for looking at distant objects or people. Guess the Distance - Perceptive Scouting (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30816/) --Scout enemies from afar and tell what level they are and what weapons they might carry. Compatible with Telescope (above) for added perception.
  7. If you're using Fishing in Skyrim you might want to consider also "No Fishing" which prevents you from grabbing fish by hand. You have a lot of mods that spawn lots of people and creatures. That may or may not work depending on how the Skyrim engine will react to that, it's been known to cause problems (e.g. CTDs) for some people. I think you could probably drop "Inconsequential NPCs" and limit the spawn in SIC without affecting gameplay much. Also I gave up Splash of Rain and footprints to lower the number of scripts running, and I turned off all the breath and steam effects in Wet and Cold for the same reason. Your mileage may be different...
  8. FWIW I've been using this mod for a while along with LoS and Point the Way and I haven't had any problems at all with it. I have tons of mods too (about 240 ESPs).
  9. @SkulldozeR: I wonder if vivid landscapes could be DDSOpt'd to correct any issues, i.e. use 8192x8192 to not change the texture sizes.
  10. Hi all, I haven't tested the new memory patch a whole lot, just a few hours. But I thought I'd add my feedback to everyone else's: My setup: 200 mods installed, but since I use TPC there are probably 250 total. Textures are DDSOpt'd to 2048/1024 max. 235 plugins installed Project ENB ("realistic") with ENB version 0.241 16 GB RAM, 3 GB VRAM (nVidia 780), i-7 2600k CPU @4.2 All tests were done with NO speed increases, just tgm for stamina. ugrids is at 5 (never changed). 1. First I played for an hour with sheson's original DLL. This was with Safety Load still in use. No problems. 2. Then I replaced sheson's original DLL with SSME (512/256) WITHOUT Safety Load. Running around Riverwood and Windhelm was no problem. Opening the map after running around Riverwood was no problem (that usually gave me a CTD). there were many encounters between different people on the road (I use SIC and Immersive Patrols). Still no problems. After maybe 45 minutes of testing I finally got a CTD on the road to Falkreath. Not quite sure what to make of that. I did do a "coc riverwood" to get to Riverwood and I forgot to get off my horse first, so of course things were a bit screwy (no horse, no me, and I was still near Whiterun), so to get out of that I did a "coc whiterun" got off my horse, then did another "coc riverwoord" and things were fine at that point. Not sure if that made the game unstable at all. 3. Following the Skyrim Stability Guide's recommendation I removed "iLargeIntRefCount=262144" from my skyrim.ini file. And I also increased the SSME blocks up to 768mb (block 1) and 512mb (block 2). Then I ran around Riverwood, got on my horse, and galloped to Falkreath. No problem entering Falkreath or going out the other side. Usually the road on the west side of Falkreath makes me ctd, probably due to the increased flora (I use SFO). No problems and no CTDs this last test. I'll stick with 768/512 for now. If I find things to be really stable I might be tempted to up ugrids to 7. I thought I would never even chance it till the memory patch was created! *EDIT* I meant to say "Falkreath" instead of Riften above, so I changed it. I played for another couple hours, this time at ugrids=11 just for fun. I ran around 1/2 the world (NO speed boost), and I played the game in all aspects. In other words, I fought battles, skinned animals, completed quests, looted corpses, cleared a dungeon, checked the map, talked to people, even fought some SIC creatures and a dragon (using tgm). I finished my test around Riften (for real this time), and although the game had some serious .5 second pauses and my FPS dropped to 22, I had no hard freeze or CTD.
  11. I thought scriptdragon was kind of outdated and not well supported anymore?
  12. So I read through this entire thread and I am still waiting for someone to prove the 128 limit wrong. I know for a fact that I have well over 200 plugins and I put some of the heavy quest plugins last including things like Frostfall and rnd and they work perfectly. So what is going on here? Ah nevermind I just saw Vrugdush's post above, don't know how I missed that.
  13. FWIW... I gave TK Dodge a try several months ago and it was pretty laggy for me. I found that it would not respond in time--sometimes dodging would work and sometimes it would not. I have a quad core I-7 2600 K CPU overclocke at 4.2 gigahertz too. But I also have over 200 mods and some of them are pretty script heavy.
  14. A few things I see in your mod list. Don't know if this will help or not though: 1. You should clean those dirty ITM records. Once you do that BOSS won't complain any more about them. 2. I don't see the SOS patch for dungeons. As I recall there's 3 patches, one for each SOS esp. 3. I don't see a BASH'd patch for your leveled lists. Use "Wrye Bash" to create one. Don't worry, it's pretty easy, directions for doing that are all over the place. 4. Consider using BUM (Bash Update Manager) to create Bash rules for the 2 unrecognized ESPs at the end. Not that important, just a suggestion. For example, I think the RND_AnimalLoot.esp is supposed to come right after RealisticNeedsandDiseases.esp (that is from memory, read the posts for RnD to be sure). In addition I notice that you have a lot of pretty big mods and some of them add a lot of spawns. That shouldn't be a problem as long as you are careful about following all the special cleaning and compatibility steps you can find. I have many of the same mods you do, but for each and every mod I've checked Neovalen's "Skyrim Revisited" guides (both old and new guides) and I've not only cleaned the dirty ITM records but I've created the compatibility ESPs he suggested to ensure compatibility between the mods, etc. Takes a lot of work but it rules out a lot of mod conflicts. *edit* I should also add that you should definitely use the recent Skyrim Memory Patch 3.0 that was created by Sheson, it may help. But be advised you should still go through everything I said above because the Memory Patch thing may only mask the problems and they could bite you later.
  15. Which executable are you starting from within MO? (just want to be sure it's the correct one). Have you tried starting any other app from within MO, such as Wrye Bash, Bash Update Manager (BUM), or even just plain Skyrim? btw, I have MO set to run as admin and I *DO* get the popup that asks for elevated credentials. I assume you created a shortcut then edited the shortcut by going into the advanced properties and setting it there, correct? Another thought is that maybe you installed one of these things in the Program Files area and that is causing a problem. As a general rule you should avoid installing Skyrim, MO, or any other Skyrim related app in Program Files.
  16. Probably the reason you haven't gotten any replies yet is because there doesn't seem to be anything obviously wrong with your setup. I looked through your ESPs and it looks good to me anyway. Have you done any tweaking on your skyrim .ini files? If so maybe you could try going back to vanilla .ini files long enough to see if that solves it?
  17. I read everywhere that I didn't even need anything more than 2 GB unless I was running a dual/triple monitor setup. But I decided to get a 3 GB card anyway and now I'm glad I did! As far as 4 GB, I have no idea if you'll actually use that with a 1080p resolution. But I wouldn't go with 2 GB because I regularly use more than 2 GB playing Skyrim. So if you have to choose between 2 GB and 4 GB I would suggest the 4 GB. Others please give your opinions too, I could be mistaken in my assessment above.
  18. New gpus do help a lot even without any other changes. For example, I played Skyrim with an nVidia 570 (1.2GB VRAM) for many months, but a couple months ago I bought an nVidia 780 (3GB VRAM) and the difference was amazing. I was getting about 30 FPS and even down to 5-10 FPS in places, but now I get a solid 50-60 FPS everywhere. And don't worry about a card that is factory overclocked, my cards have been OC'd at the factory and I've never had problems. Well actually I did have some trouble with artifacts playing Battlefield 3 on my 570 OC, so I just solved the problem by DOWNclocking the card to stock levels which was easy to do (it turned out to be a driver issue). btw, I never OC the GPU myself because it just doesn't seem to pay off like OC'ing the CPU does (I overclock my CPU to 4.2 GHz). In terms of HDD, if you got an SDD that would help a lot. Short of that just keep your drive defragmented.
  19. I've never noticed that problem in Solitude, but I have noticed sometimes an NPC is missing who is actually talking to me and I don't see them at all (e.g. the Blacksmith's daughter in Riverwood). To make them reappear I leave the area and come back to make it reload and then they're there. I have no idea about your particular problem though. Perhaps you have ugrids set higher than 5 and it's causing some of the events to fire prematurely before you're actually "there"? That's just wild guess, I actually have no idea.
  20. For some reason I can take all the items on the tables in the Riverwood tavern without stealing them. I seem to remember they were set to 'steal' mode for new games, but I just started a new game. Items in other taverns are ok (i.e. set to 'steal'). Maybe I'm just not remembering correctly.
  21. Sorry, I can't help with the script, but I can suggest a couple things to make aiming harder and more skill based: 1) iHUD (immersive HUD by gopher): Use this mod to turn off the archery crosshair. 2) LIHUD (less intrusive HUD): Use this mod to move the sneak meter to the bottom of the screen, otherwise when you sneak the meter itself helps you aim. Another little mod I've enjoyed is "Guess the Distance - Perceptive Scouting". It allows you to identify NPCs and enemies from afar so that you have a basic idea of their hostility and level etc. I use it all the time when I see a group of people walking and I can't tell whether they're bandits and friendlies. You can also use the Telescope mod (by KettleWitch) to enhance the distance you can use your power. Since the remote NPC has to be on your crosshairs, I've used iHUD to turn on the crosshair when I have a melee weapon drawn, so I just draw my sword or dagger and then use my perception to see who the NPC is. I also use "Training Dummies and Targets - Falskaar Edition" to allow my low level characters to get some early experience with melee and archery weapons.
  22. I've never heard of that either, and I've been using Convenient Horses for about a year. Maybe you could test to see if it only happens when you ride your horse. For example, if you call your horse (whistle for your horse) does the horse drag items, or do you have to be on the horse?
  23. This effort gets my thumbs up too. Would definitely use it.
  24. I've used RLO for nearly a year and I love it. I use it with CoT, CoT Weather Patch, and Project ENB. A perfect combination. My dungeons are pitch black except for the light sources (just the way I like them), which forces me to use lanterns (using Wearable Lanterns). For inns and houses the interiors duing the day are bright and cheery (assuming there are windows), but get very dark at night except near the fires/candles. I love setting the timescale to 800 just to watch the day/night light changes. They go from nearly pitch black inside to bright and cheery when the sun comes up. AWESOME. Outside is very bright with dark shadows during the day and very dark at night (can't almost see). Since I use RnD and Frostfall I have to set up camp before it gets too dark and sleep in my cozy tent by the fire. SO MUCH FUN!
