  1. You guys are just awesome, thank you so much for your hard work and dedication. Btw, as a side question, is it going to be possible to update from v2.2 to 2.3 and/or 2.4? or is a fresh new start recommended? I'm asking since you mentioned that some mods will be getting replaced and I'm wondering whether that might break current 2.2 game.
  2. First of all, I apologize if this is posted in wrong section of forum. The only other Skyrim forum seemed to be more focused on tech support, so I chose here. Feel free to delete (or move) if mods can. I am happily running STEP, but unfortunately, I have gotten to the point where I am simply too powerful even on Legendary difficulty and it really is starting to suck the magic out of the game when I am nearly invincible. I have been looking into AI improvement or minimal (vanilla+) combat overhaul mods, however, most of the stuff I see transform the game into Dark Souls and that is NOT what I am about. I was wondering if the community here has dabbled in any such mods that address these issues while staying true to and being compatible with STEP. The reason for AI: the NPCs in Skyrim are quite mentally deficient and they attack at a very slow pace. They stand there for most of the time and get stuck behind small obstacles. I was hoping a more aggressive combat AI would address this. (AI Overhaul mod in STEP I believe does not focus on combat). For combat mods I was thinking of something to make combat more deadly and difficult while being close to vanilla (but more modern combat) but there are a billion different options. The two most talked about ones I found were Valhalla Combat (no update since 2022) and Blunt and Blade (constantly updated but seems to do more changes than I'd like). I'd appreciate any and all suggestions. Thank you.
  3. I left out CACO but even the guide says its optional. It makes way too many arbitrary changes and infuriated me. CCOR by the same author on the other hand I believe is a must and makes a lot of good quality of life improvements (such as crafting UI). Also it has an extensive MCM menu where you can set things to vanilla if you want. While CCOR tries to make crafting items required realistic, since alchemy is not a real thing, I don't understand why any of the ingredient effect changes were made. It's not like there is a real life benchmark to compare to and make it more "immersive". It's all arbitrary gibberish. In addition it adds a ton of clutter that will never be used like bandages. What really infuriated me is that it does not allow you to make even ONE CYCLE of alchemy/enchanting loop. Not one. And it's not mentioned anywhere in the mod description (I found out coincidentally through some reddit posts). Enchanting potions are worthless/useless after lvl 100 enchanting. They do nothing. Unofficial patch already addresses this so I don't know why the author had the audacity to go out of his/her way to change something so big and not even mention it.
  4. Hi, I'm running STEP skyrim with no modifications except CACO removed. However, I've noticed two issues, one of which is severely game breaking for me, and I'm wondering what the problem could be. It could be something I messed up but I haven't been able to find the source of the problem after multiple rounds of troubleshooting. Game breaking: 1. Ghosts do not take any damage using offensive Restoration spells (the ones that are designed vs undead). EVE - Ghost Mechanics and Shaders Restored mod description says that all "All offensive restoration spells" should work. Currently, the only spell that works is the Master level spell "Bane of the Undead" but this is troublesome to cast and animation keeps getting interrupted when swarmed by ghosts. I could not beat the last companions quest "Glory of the Dead" without turning on God Mode. Using normal weapons is impossible, especially cause I'm playing a mage playthrough and 1h skill is lacking. I cannot disable this mod because STEP Conflict Resolution patch depends on it, and I cannot disable that because it will break a lot of other things. If I disable EVE, game won't even start. I suspect perhaps ODIN has something to do with this? I did not see anyone in the EVE mod posts on nexus mention anything about this. Not as critical: 2. I thought dragon souls were supposed to be used up when setting skills to legenday (reset). However, in my game, I can do it indefinitely after running some tests, without using up any dragon souls. Is this part of a mod feature within STEP?
  5. Well, once you mentioned ENB settings, I looked into it and I saw that force vsync was enabled (could've sworn I turned it off - I have GSYNC so I don't need it). After I set it to false, now I get pretty constant 55-57 fps, which is fine by me. This is with depth of field on, and no FPS limiter anywhere (btw why do we limit fps on nvidia inspector if a have the SSE64 Havok Fix?). I know my graphics card really isn't being pushed in terms of processing power, since I can see the Mhz and Temperature stay relatively low. Vsync turned out to be the artificial limiter on my fps. Now with regards to VRAM, after turning off all programs in the background (firefox uses up 1GB of VRAM), I was able to stay at 5.9GB (out of 6GB). Which is still too close for comfort IMO. However, I didn't notice any detrimental effects on my gameplay at all. No stuttering or anything. Perhaps, it just makes the game more likely to crash (which hasn't happened yet)? If everything is fine, I'm wondering if I should downgrade to 2k at all. Regardless though, I think Lexy's update to lower to 2k should remain in place to maintain compatibility with most rigs.
  6. Just checked, I'm using 5.9 GB in task manager and over 6GB in MSI afterburner. VRAM seems to be the only component getting taxed. Everything else is pretty good. Normally when I run AAA games, fans turn into jet engines and temperature rockets up to 80 C, but remains a cool 45 C with this config of SSE and I get around 40 fps at most. This is with 980Ti for those wondering. I recommend implementing the new 2K downgrade updates for those having same issue.
  7. In addition, CBP Physics is now outdated and won't work either with the new SKSE. Also, I am happy with this new update as I also have a 6GB 980ti like Lexy but with a newer 6600k i5 processor, so about same, perhaps insignificantly higher specced rig and I am having a hell of a time running this. This is with the DynDOLOD not even working due to papyrus being outdated: I get 35fps, 40 at most in doors at 1080p and no Antialiasing, no vsync. I also went a bit overboard and downloaded all 4K for about 5 or so mods for which the original guide recommended 2k but those shouldnt have made too much of a difference. I suspect I am at or very close to 6GB VRAM. Perhaps this is why my xLODgen compiled for 8 hours (Lexy says hers took 2 hours in the guide). I did some research to this, I think my abysmal performance can also be related to Verdant. Apparently Verdant is a well known fps killer (-30 fps consistently). I think switch to Veydosebrom would alleviate some of the fps issues, which also reduced fps up to 15 fps. In fact I've seen performance density with 1K textures being recommended even on a 1080Ti for Veydosebrom.
