I want to move my OS to a SSD. What is the best program to use? Clonezilla says to copy to the same size HD or a Larger one. My computer came with a 1 Terabyte HHD but I want to copy to a 250gb SSD. Can I still use clonezilla

I also agree it is frostfall. I always freeze to death before the chopping block. I also don't enable it.

I think BOSS is getting easier. I'm finally catching onto the master list categories. I hope BOSS gets an update again. If I could understand building patches with TES5edit I would be in business. I still think the Boss masterlist changes for imp_helm.esp should be under WAF for the since the esp is from WAF. Or am I just not catching something.

I'm confused about the Improved Close Faced Helmet directions. From what I'm getting I delete all the esps. but in the BOSS Masterlist update direction it reads imp_helm_legend.esp AFTER imp_helm.esp. What download do I get the esp from. I also am confused about the Weapons and Armors Fixes section. There are esp in both downloads but there are no BOSS Masterlist update instructions and it doesn't say to delete either of them.

I have two issues. if I try to run skyrim for the first time with steam the launcher crashes before it tells me if my inis are set to high med or low. also if I try to delete my inis while the launcher is still on aand I hit high med or low these are the only inis that show up in my inis folder [Water] bReflectLODObjects=0 bReflectLODLand=1 bReflectSky=0 bReflectLODTrees=0 Any suggestions

Sorry about the miss spelling. So I guess maybe I should not have bought a warranty on my GPU and SSD either. I have been buying everything on sale and would have saved more cash. I received my Gigabyte 980 , SAMSUNG 850 Pro Series 512GB SSD, and Corsair Obsidian 750D a couple weeks ago. The case is a lil bigger than I pictured in my head but very nice. All I have left to buy is my MB, Ram and CPU. This is my first build so I took apart my old computer and put it together in this case for practice. Now if only I can get control panel to see my new SSD. Bios seems to see it but not control panel. I'm also not sure what Operating system to get. I don't mean the7 or 8.1 version but the full version or OEM version

I'm Definitely Not planning on Skimping on a Motherboard. I'm Looking at the ASUS Rampage V (6 Core), GIGABYTE GA-X99-GAMING G1 (6 Core), GIGABYTE GA-X99-GAMING G1 (6 Core). Or the ASUS Rampage IV Black (4 Core), ASUS MAXIMUS VI (4 Core). I'm not really sure why because I have never used their product but I'm Drawn more to the ASUS products, I thought about the Gigabyte because that's what my card is but read a few bad reviews. I know I'm going a little overboard because I figure if I spend an extra 100 dollars on a motherboard or processor it will last three or four years instead of getting a cheaper board and than in two years having to spend another 250 on a MB, ect. Does My reasoning make sense or am I looking at this wrong? T already play on a 50" Sony so I am happy with my monitor. About the only other question I have is buying RAM. I'm not sure what kind to buy. I plan on watercooling and in the future may add another video card

After BOSS sorting is complete, perform the following: Open TES5Edit and click [OK] to load all plugins. Right-click RSPatch.esp and select "Apply Script". In the drop down, select "RSPatcher" and click [Ok]. When the pop up message appears select [Create Patch]. Exit TES5Edit and save RSPatch.esp.

So far I have a Gigabyte gtx980 that came in last week and a Pony 240gb SSD (for my operating system). On Tuesday I will be receiving a Corsair Obsidian 750 Case (I like the plain look and seems roomy) and a Samsung 850 Pro Series 512gb SSD (for Steam and my games). Now my question. Which processor would offer better stock performance. A i7-5930K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.5GHz or a i7-4790K Haswell Quad-Core 4.0GHz. I have never overclocked before and the i7 4790 is rated 4.0ghz so is probably capable of playing skyrim with Skyrim revisited installed but the recommended specs for Far Cry 4 are an AMD 8 core so games requiring higher cores probably aren't far off in the gaming industry. Which do you think I should buy and why?

Thanks for the reply Heliadhel. Newegg had both the 970s and 980s and sold out while I was trying to make up my mind lol decisions decision's. The only reason I would choose the 980s is because of the Higher CUDA cores (I have looked up the definition but to be honest still really don't know what they do.) I noticed the clock speeds don't change much between the two. I mainly play racing games and rpgs. But will be trying out battlefield soon. I just migrated from console to computer in the last year or so. right now I have 2 50 inch screens but game on one so if I got the 980 I guess over time I would have to get a 2nd 980. All I can say is Skyrim got me into computers, And Neo's guide got me wanting to build a better computer ( I know how beautiful Skyrim is with his guide and cant wait to experience it stutter free). Lol after I get the new videocard I guess my next step will be learning TES5edit better so I can do conflicts on my own.

Thank you for your opinion on GPUs. I think I'm going order two 970s. I'm working on my first build and boy is it tough to make some decisions. I have followed your posts and guides for awhile so I'm pretty sure listening your advice is a good way to go. A few of the STEP Mods I am interested in are Lock Overhaul, Shooting Stars, Rainbows, Animated Weapon Enchants, Skyrim Weapon De-LARP-ification Project, Birds and Flocks, 83Willows 101BugsHD, Unknown Enchants, Disease Descriptions, Fuz Ro D-oh, and Appropriately Attired Jarls. A couple others that look interesting are Game Fixes = Achieve That, AutoPV, Bocksteal, Alchemist Compendium, Effects = Splash of rain, Gameplay = Hunterborn/Hunting in Skyrim and Enhanced Companions Guild - The companions Guild. I believe the gameplay mods are kept up to date by the authors and might be popular mods that everyone might enjoy

Hi Neovalen. Do you use the step installation at all in your game? I'm thinking more the gameplay, fixes, and User interface mods? Do you think you would ever include any of the mods that are not in your guide yet? A little off topic question Since I know you have a Gigabyte GPU. Which is better, buying the 980 (faster clock speeds and more cuda cores) or getting 2 970s and running SLI. Also would you stick with a Gigabyte Motherboard or would it be ok to get an Asus board. Curious about how you feel mixing and matching. I don't want this question to throw the thread off topic I am just very interested in your opnion

so would you buy the Asus or Gigabyte card. I have the cash in my pocket and want to buy an Asus ROg motherboard with an Asus 970 bot the gigabyte 970 has higher clock speeds and looks a lil better with the six outputs on back

Should I optimize my textures for the base game or would Tony's Optimized Vanilla Files do the job just as well?

I don't know it these two cards are a good example since they are so close in model number but which is better? One higher end card are two lower end cards set on SLI and at what point is it worth getting the higher end card over 2 low end cards.

Is it possible to check for leaks with air to prevent water getting everywhere? I know that the cpu and such are delicate but was just wondering
